I get your point, what you are saying if we do not remember our past life when we reincarnate that individual is dead, this is what i do not like about the concept of reincarnation. There is a belief that during the long cycles of incarnation and reincarnation one deposits each life experience in some larger pool higher consciousness. Like after each lifetime pouring that life memories into an external hard drive until when enlightenment is finally reached. You then to supposedly consolidate all your multiple lives into this one source and finally become the potential higher being
