I have a great deal of trouble trying to figure out just what is meant by "coincidence" - aside from the definition of the term, "coming together", with the implication of a chance event, it seems difficult to separate the event from its causes.
How can anything that involves a collection of interactive minds be a matter of other than intention? My feeling is that the collective awareness of the group would be most likely to view everything, including meeting people, as intended, while the individual members of the group would sense it as a matter of chance.
Unfortunately, the only way we have to sense the collective awareness of a group is either to be totally distant, so we can study it like any other organism, or, from within the group, to sense what is happening and the patterns of behavior that are occurring - rather like discovering that we are sleepwalking and trying to figure our what we are up to.
There is a level of meditation that many people probably recall, called sarvastarka samadhi, which is the trance in which there are no more contradictions. In this state we are partipants in, and aware of, the "Cosmic Consciousness", which is the level of function of all groups. Sort of like all the "Higher Selves" are doing it together, and leaving it for our "lower selves" to work it out.
