Can an OBE take you to afterlife?
Jan 31st, 2008 at 5:13pm

Interesting enough I have heard of people speaking about their OBE travels, I hear of realms in countrysides, I hear of travels clear across the country. Have you traveled or know of someone whom believes to have been in the Happy hunting grounds?

What was your OBE like, explain it like 101 dummy style forme please, so I can understand what you felt please. I can`t seem to really relate, so I`d like a vivid explaination. ~Nanner~

Nanner,

Robert Monroe together with others at the Monroe Institute developed their afterlife exploration program called "Lifeline" based upon review of a his OBE explorations over the years. In Monroe's books he recounts a number of encounters with deceased friends and relatives that took place during his OBEs.  His book Ultimate Journey tells the story of the development of the program.

OBE is just another perspective from which to observe one's surroundings.  It's really not much different than using one's imagination or observing during dreaming, lucid or otherwise, except for its strong resemblance to physical reality experience.  The validity of one's observations during OBE is not better or worse than any of the other methods, in my opinion.  It is just that it's a strong resemblance to our physical reality experience makes it appear to be more valid.

Thanks Bruce - I have vivid imagination and have had a lucid dream or two, (getting better as the years go on) however I can`t seem to grasp "the feel of conscious reality in an OBE". I mean to say: The person actually knows what they are doing, and where they aim to go in some of the OBE`s I am readingup about. Can this be "that friggin real"? Down the rabbit hole I go.
It would seemto me that since we have a lot of people out here doing serious mind alternating drugs, that they are "looking for the escape" into their so called realm, which may actually really exsist, just as the ones in OBEs?

Hugs to all,
Nanner

My impression is that virtually ALL entries into the aftelife are through an OBE.

Of course with regression and meditative methods we retain the body for later use,  but thats not really necessary.

Hi Nanner,

I'm not sure if I posted this on here anywhere, but in my OBE, I did end up talking, and touching my deceased bf.  Here's how it happened.

For awhile, I had been experiencing these loud vibrations in my ear upon sleeping/waking whatever the case may be.  My body was also frozen...couldn't move or talk (sleep paralysis?)  Anyway, it used to scare me so much.  It was happening just about every night and I'd be praying in my head for it to stop.  I began looking online to find out about it, because I thought something was really wrong with me.  I found some articles on sleep paralysis, and then I believe I had entered a chat on the ADC board in which Bruce was hosting it.  I explained what was happening to me and Bruce advised me to not be afraid and to go with it...tell myself that nothing bad was going to happen, because it's only a dream.  Well the next night it happened and I did as he advised.

The vibrations started and I went with it (I was a bit scared though) I found myself feeling like I was being pulled through my body.  When I came out of this, I was still on my bed holding onto a leg...I noticed the leg to be my bf's, sure enough, I look up and there he was.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  I could actually feel and hold him...this was more than a dream.  I layed on my bed talking him, asking him all sorts of questions.  We got up and walked near my closet...I remember looking in the mirror and then him telling me he had to go, that they were coming for him.  I didn't understand what he ment, but i was frightened for him.  I told him, it was ok and that he had to go.  I told him that we helped each other a lot in the past year since his passing and that he would be okay and so would I.  He walked into my kitchen/living room and right out the front door (everything in my apartment was exactly how it was when I had gone to bed)  I started out the front door after him to talk more but he kept walking/running away.  I got part way down my driveway and realized that I was chasing after a dead guy and thought to myself that my landlords were going to see me and really think I was crazy, so I went back in my house.  I don't remember re-entering my body or anything like that.

When I woke the next day, I remembered it all and was kind of freaked out.  I knew I had been sleeping or whatever when that happened, but I wondered if I had really walked outside my house and if my landlords had seen me...lol

I haven't had an OBE since then, but it was really quite amazing.  And it really helped me with releasing the grief I was experiencing over his passing.

Hope that helps ya.

  Sure, why not Nanner?

I don't have a lot of OBE type experience, so perhaps i'm not the best one to speak on it, but i do want to mention this.

For years, i wanted to go and have a classic OBE like Bob Monroe mentioned in his accounts.  But it just wasn't happening for me now matter how hard i tried.

A while later, i had started to understand and believe in a more "phasing" type concept, and this was more so solidified for me after reading Cosmic Journey's wherein Rosiland's guides talk a lot about the 5 main different "bodies" and the 7 major energy centers, and how these relate to dreams, OBE's, etc.

A while after that, OBE's totally out of my mind, i started to have a spontaneous one, one early morning.

What i find interesting about this, and what confirms Rosiland's Guides and what they say, is that for me, that was an unusually slow vibrating period for me.    I was definitely centering much more in my slower vibrating Chakras.    I was being more selfish, reactive, ego oriented around that time, my sex drive flared up unusually so (it's not that strong normally), and i just wasn't in a very good or balanced space at the time.

Astrologically, both Mars and Saturn were sitting right on top of my Ascendant point at the time.   Meaning both Mars and Saturn became ultra highlighted and amplified in my psyche and mental energy body, temporarily.   Pluto was closely squaring my Saturn, which is an sensitive/receptive indicator/point in my chart.

Both Mars and Saturn are the slowest vibrating Planets there are in our little ole Solar system, and Pluto can also represent a very slow vibrating, destructive energy, though it calls for transformation (yeah, get burned enough due to your own selfishness and willfulness, you'd might want to change your ways).

So, this experience confirmed for me, that Rosie's guides and their info was quite right about the classic OBE and how its mostly connected to the Etheric body, and because the Etheric is only a bit faster vibrating in nature than the Physical (relatively speaking), such "travel" and exploration can entail more limited awareness, as well as more fear and reactive type feelings, essentially there is more "baggage" brought along on such "trips".   Rosiland's guides also noted that strong sexual energies and fear oft accompany phasing into and through the Etheric body.

I'm not knocking classic OBE's or people that have them, i'm just saying that as one gets more balanced and spiritually intune, they could have less of the OBE type stuff and more direct and strong phasing into their emotional, mental, and even spiritual bodies.     Yet, one can still choose to explore via OBE even if they innately vibrate past those levels, it may be part of their belief system that the best exploration is done through such means or they just have more fun for whatever reason via same.

The more you raise your inner frequencies to faster vibratory "levels", the more your perceptions expand, and the more you innately start to phase into your faster vibrating bodies on average.    If that's not "good", or desirable, then i don't know what is.

Even during my couple spontaneous OBE's, i noticed that i first started out in the classic OBE state, and found myself phasing into a more emotional and mental range of frequency, and so even while i was having the OBE and it at first felt very very "real", it started to feel less real (because it became less connected to the physical Earth energies), and i started losing the body based identification.   Or in other words, i strongly concentrated my consciousness first in my 2nd body, and then started to shift more into my 3rd and 4th bodies.

It's not necessarily that one is better or worse than another, just as each Chakra is necessary and part of the Whole, its the balance and merging that's the real important thing, and not becoming overly concentrated in one or two, for the lack of another or of the Whole.     Yet, at the same time, the more spiritually developed one becomes, the more the inner frequencies and wave forms speed up vibrationally.    So, red is not worse than blue, but generally speaking, it's a good idea to work towards the blue which is a much faster frequency than regular red.   Spiritual development of course corresponds primarily to PUL and the ever increasing ability to absorb and direct the more pure facets of it.

The more blue, indigo, and violet one becomes, the less Earthly/physical and limited one becomes, and vice versa, the more regular red or orange one becomes (symbolically and literally speaking), the more limited and stuck one becomes, and the more one suffers due to their own selfishness being reflected back to them.

Alan I dont need to read NDW...honey.. I am very much involved with his teachings. I want to hear a vivid experience, I want to hear it told to me, so that I may "feel" what the person went thru. Love, Nanner
