I have been debating on posting this but hinse it will not leave me alone, I think I shall.

Two mornings ago I awoke approx. 4 am, the bedroom pitch dark, as I like it to be. I raise my head and look at the wall circa. 4 ft in front of the bed. There had been a perfect white light square on the wall, maybe a 24 inch TV box size - square. I "thought" it might by light reflecting from outside coming thru the blinds, however it was 4 am - no sunlight in germany at 4 am - trust me. I layed my head back down and went back to sleep. 2 hrs later I woke up again and it was no longer there.

I recall one of the posters saying we have wormhole (thingy ma jigs) in our world, sort of like stargates. Now I sit and ponder if I could have taken off through "that hole in the wall" for lack of a better word..lol..

Blink I`m not too sure that I would have fit through the friggin hole, with my big butt - what if I would have gotten stuck half and half. Nope, I`ve seen to many movies like that. No No, not me.

Now that you mention it, this morning I thought to myself: I should have thrown something at it to see if it swoops into it and is gone..Oh the ideas always come to me afterwards..

It just reminds me of my lucid dream about 4 years ago, in which the light hands were reaching out of the end of the hallway. It was not square, so much that I remember, although it could have been (the hands reaching out kind of threw me off, scared me, most likely). Anyway, It was very bright and sqarish, to my memory.

I've got a vortex, opening to the other world, whatever, in the corner of my bedroom, but I never saw a light there.  Doesn't mean there isn't one, just never checked.

Stuff coming through there used to scare the stuffings out of my daughter's boyfriend.  I'll have to ask if he (or she...it was her bedroom for a while) ever saw a light.

Re: the idea that it might be a soul rather than a vortex, I've tried to find some sources for what I recall reading, that some souls' glow of light is organized into some geometric shapes.  I can't find the sources (Alysia might know), so I'll offer you this summary of descriptions of light bodies (subtle bodies) of folks OBing:

        a perceived glow, denser in the center, often in white, gold, rose, or blue, sometimes      
                 seeming like millions of stars

        such a light that has areas of intensity that are so bright as to seem like jewels

       such a light that is very cohesive and seems to resemble a circle, an oval, or in the most 
            highly developed souls, a square, rarely surrounding a circle

So it seems that a very advanced soul could be peeking at you, Nanner, possibly wondering what makes you tick !    Maybe it was also sending you the message (which you didn't hear through your own on-going thoughts )--Nanner, Nanner! Come out OB and fly with me!"
That's just a guess, as it certainly wasn't me

Plus it should also know that it can come see me during the day time just as well too, then I would simply say "let me pls. quickly (mentally)pack a few things" (toothbrush, so I dont go flying thru the universe stinky) and then I`m sure I would have went with.
