Hello Everyone :)

Hello Everyone!

Some of you may remember my old username on the forum, Jambo?

Just lately I have been absolutely terrified about the thought of dying. I think the reasons for that was hearing that my Uncle Mike had been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.  The medical staff say he has an 85% chance of full recovery me being the natural worrier started thinking the worst.  Also as well it has dawned on me that my mum and my dad etc are not getting any younger and they will not be here forever.  Also hearing about that poor actor Heath Ledger really got to me.

From a very young age I have always believed there is "something" out there working in tandem with us, maybe its God or some form of guiding force?
From a young age I have also always believed that there is a heaven.  This is not because of my parents or family enforcing their beliefs on me (I come from a Jewish family).  It is a feeling I really can't explain it is just a true "gut" feeling that I seem to have.  My mum is very spiritual due to a number of factors and she used to often take me to the local Spiritualist Church but I was far too young to understand what was going on.  However when I was there I have good memories of the atmosphere there.  The atmosphere there was electric and to this day I have not experienced a similar atmosphere since.

The thought that scares me as I am sure it scares a lot of people is losing people that I love and I'm worried that I will never share their company again once they are gone  Sad  I am dreading the day when my mum is no longer with me because I have an extremely close bond with her.

The hardest thing is I know nobody can give me a definite answer.  Sure there are numerous sources of good literature on the subject both backing the existence for the afterlife and also rebutting the case, both raising good points and arguments.

Often skeptics say its all in the mind or when people see spirits its the mind playing tricks on them.  What makes it hard for me is I have never really had a psychic experience so this naturally makes me doubt it all as I am the type of person who has to see something to believe it.

It is getting to a point now where I am finding it hard to sleep because I can't seem to stop going over these thoughts time and time again.  Actually at one point I was worried that I was going crazy!  Tongue

I know one of the things that Bruce Moen says is to experience the afterlife for yourself, but how do you know when you do visit the afterlife your not just imagining everything?  I for one am useless at any type or kind of meditation as my mind is so hyperactive and I find it very difficult to switch it off or "empty" it.

Any kind advice or words of wisdom would be greatfully appreciated.

(I also apologize for the long post!  Tongue)

Take care everyone.

Love Jammy

Hi Jammy and welcome!

Well it sounds to me as though you are perfectly normal. We all have the same basic fears... fear of sickness, death, loss, and so on. The events that bring forth our fears are varied, but the whole point of our being here is to overcome and release our fear. When we do that more and more of our spiritual beingness comes forth.

You mentioned you haven't had any 'phychic' experiences. I would call your 'gut feelings' phychic experiences. God or whatever you wish to label this is within you and has always been within you. This is the connection to the spiritual world even while incarnate in a physical body.

We don't think of ourselves as spirits here on earth, but that's exactly what we are. I can't prove it to you, but there is no doubt in my mind about the truth of it. Meditation is a gateway to our inner self. The part of you that is always the center of the universe. It also have enormous health benefits. If you are concerned about illness I highly recommend checking into some of the studies that have been done.

Love, Kathy

Hi there Jammy/Jambo, don't have much to say except to say hi and to re-welcome you back.   My only advice would be to go within more.   It might seem "hard" at first to quiet the left brain chatter, but it's like anything, the more you practice the better you get at it.   Hemi-sync and "resonant tuning" might help out at first?

Hi Jammy-
There are two basic facts here: (1) You will die. (2) It will not be fatal. (It never has been for others either.)

The most convincing way to satisfy yourself is to get someone to regress you to a past life. Not a medium who goes there and then tells you a tale, but to actually do a hypnotic regression. The IARRT has a few international members and is otherwise everywhere in the US, as one option. As another, I have a hypnotic protocol on my site (it's listed under my bio) that you and a friend can use. Go back through a few deaths and you'll see that the only thing that changes is that we get better as our life skills improve.

Aside from that, you might find it worthwhile to get involved with soul retrieval using Bruce's methods. The specific value is that you build good relations with the rest of the non-world. Never hurts to have contacts in high places. Wink

How can you be so sure that your mind is not deceiving you or playing a trick on you?

Jammy,

I have no idea whether I am imagining everything, and, what's more, I don't care. Skeptics can say it is all in the mind as much as they want and it doesn't matter to me. Everything is in the mind.

Buddha said, it is your mind that creates this world. It's true.

If you can't sleep it means you are awake. That is a GOOD thing. Be awake.

Wow Blink that is a very interesting way of putting it!

Sorry to ask such a silly question but where are some good articles on retrievals and on learning how to?

And whatever happened to Spitfire?

I feel that many of the good articles are waiting for us to write them, Jammy. By any or all of us, whoever can do it.

This conversation board has some retrieval experiences listed under "retrievals" near the book forums, visitor links, etc. And here is a link to an archive elsewhere on the site:

http://www.afterlife-knowledge.com/ret-arch/

This site has lots of good information about Bruce Moen's research, and member and visitor experiences, but actually meditating, actually giving it a chance to work, is a choice that must be made individually.

What's kind of funny is how people sometimes find themselves doing retrievals in their sleep. It seems that if you want to do them, you will find a way to do them.... Smiley

Hey, Spitfire, where are you? You are missed around here. Inquiring minds want to know....

love, blink Smiley

Hello Jammy:

It is possible to do as Bruce suggests and have a combination of experiences in a manner which let you know for certain that the afterlife does in fact in exist. It happened for Bruce, it happened for me, it happened for many others, and it can happen for you.

Whatever you find, the most important thing it to grow in love and you'll be okay.
