Got my Bruce Moen books
Dec 31st, 2007 at 10:09am

Well, the wait is over. I did recieve my Bruce Moen books for Christmas as I suspected I would from the lovely Mrs Dood.

I am on the 1st one I believe. 'Voyages to the Unknown'.
I haven't gotten very far yet but I will pick up steam this week.

A very 'easy read'.  Nice font size.
Bruce is a 'Regular Joe' or an 'Ordinary Human Being' like he says in the book.

I always receive many books at Christmas. I am holding off on all others until I read these.

I have noticed so far by reading this first book of Bruce Moen that his statement that he is an 'Ordinary Human Being' is a bit of an understatement.

He is a Bright 'Ordinary Human Being'.

I am only up to page 79.  I just finished his "I am curiosity" part of the book.

It was very profound and insightful.  I need to read it again.  With my highlighter. Wink

I am so thankful to have this week off from work.  It is READ WEEK for me.
Nothing gets my juices flowing as having the time to simply read.
I could be a Professional Reader for the rest of my life...hehe!

It just doesn't pay very well...

I know if I ever had the honor of meeting Bruce in person I would simply like to shake his hand and say: "Thank you'.
Of course I would have a zillion questions but, I am sure he is getting that from a lot of people.
I would not want to impose upon him like that unless he offered me to ask him questions.
Otherwise it would just be rude of me to jump in and start asking questions.  It seems people today are more and more rude.
So with that being said I would simply shake his hand and thank him.
I really love reading about people's lives that are honest and straight forward as Bruce has done.
Nothing flashy.  Just simple life experiences put down on paper.
This is what I call a Gem.  Or as my Father would have said: "Pearls of Wisdom".

I hope this makes sense.

OK...OK...back to actually READING the book. Cheesy

HEY ALL RIGHT! thats the same impression I got from Bruce's books, he's an engineer, just ordinary person like you and me makes it really hard to put him on a pedestal, right? which means we can learn the tecniques to phasing as TMI calls it. its not that mysterious anyway, a type of focusing the mind.

they are easy to read. some books are hard reads and so a person will lose interest with the strain. I never had to strain to understand what he's saying, but I did find out that it's good to keep them on the shelf after you're finished. As when I returned to the books a year or so later I read what I had missed the first time through due to a person is always changing their perspective as they go along in life, so fresh insights are there. Pretty soon I will have a whole wall of books in my house!

The books are fun to me though and can even produce your own inner explorations and mind and soul journeys. thank god this is not a religion is TMI, that way we can't hardly mess it up, right? haha! good for you Dood, and glad you came here and glad u said "what kind of hell is this?" haha!

Hi Dood,

You are going to love them all, Dood ! You will be changed (but not your essence of Old Doodism. )

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!  Cheesy

Enjoy!

See below for a picture I drew of your Corgi in the snow.

Thank you Bets...
That pic of Ranger in the snow is closer then you think.
When it is deep out he jumps through it like a jack rabbit...hehe!
He will end up making 'trails' that he follows afterward.
Funny little dog...

So far I am 3/4 the way through my first book. Hopefully I will finish it today.
Today is a very good reading day.  We have had plenty of snow so I do not want to go out at all.
One of my kids should shovel the driveway....I am tired of doing it.

I finished the first book.
Quite interesting to say the least.

The 'Ghost Stories' raised my eyebrows.
That would creep me out.  However, far less so now that Bruce brought it into context.
Even Bruce was having 'trouble' and I considered him to be pretty experienced by that point of his travels.

I really need to meet my 'Coach' and get some learning done.

So it is on to the second book.
I will also re-read these just like I felt the need to re-read Monroe's books too.

Hi Dood,

You are a reader! (as noted by the clock time of your post.)
There used to be a fellow here who was getting great experiences but lamented that he couldn't find the time for it due to family and work responsibilities. --He could learn a thing or two from you!

Well Bets, Thank you however, I have had some time off from work.

I usually read at night in bed before I fall asleep. (I try to get a chapter in but usually fail and nod off)
I haven't read anything today...I just woke up from a long nap this morning.
HeHe...I drove our son home yesterday back to Chicago and that took its toll on me.
9 hours driving time and over 10 hours of trip time.
I had to drive through some real nasty weather too.
So when I got home last night around 9pm I crashed early then got up early...then crashed again.

Now I am up for the day.  Need to go out and get some things done.
It is real bitter cold out too...

Hi Dood, I'm excited for you, getting to read those books for the first time.  Makes me remember my first time reading them.  I like admitting it because I think it's kind of funny...I bought Bruce's first book when it was new but I didn't read it then.  One reason I got it was because he knew Robert Monroe.  But I only read a little of it and thought "this guy is a little off his rocker" so it sat on my shelf for about 6 years.  Lucky for me I never get rid of books, and when I picked it up again and actually read it I was kicking myself for not having actually read it all those years ago.  I couldn't put it down, and couldn't wait to read the rest of his books.

When I was only into his second book I got to meet Bruce for the first time and that's when he told me about his 5th book, the Guidebook, which I didn't even know existed.  That was a nice surprise.  I hope you got that one too for Christmas.

If you come across anything in any of his books you want to discuss, start some threads in the book forums.  I always look forward to people wanting to pick out things to chat about.

Hi Dood,

That is great you got his books! All of his books are great. Very informative. He organized it in a way for a newbie to understand how he was able to discover the afterlife. Imagine - he was raised like everyone - skeptical of the afterlife until one fateful day when he found Monroe's book.  Now look at him today...  wow! He makes me believe that I can and will be able to discover the afterlife on my own - to find the truth for myself.

Have you been able to make contact with the afterlife thus far?

Yup, all good and well written books.  Voyage to Curiosity's Father is in my top 7 all time favorite spiritual books, along with Rosiland McKnight's two books, Cosmic Journeys and Soul Journeys.

u guys got me thinking about the books. it seems not a small number of us first read Monroe then were somehow led to Bruce's books.
Monroe's are classics now for this type of exploration. Probably Bruce's will be classics too.

I'm thinking about the newbies to the forum as I remember so well I was a newbie once here and it may be all new to them what we discuss.
I too would enjoy chatting on the book forum Dood, that way, we stay more on topic easily. I get off topic a lot. just human nature.

when I first read the four books of Bruce, I had read Monroe's twice because I had had involuntary obes since I was small. but not a bunch, sporadically. Monroe's books acted to calm me down what was happening during these times.
then reading Bruce, it was indeed understandable the way he writes. I remember thinking, wow, where did this bloke come from, its like talking to someone across the table from you, just comfortable. so many previous books on the paranormal or astral travel didn't have the same sense of adventure that I was feeling in Bruces books.

and he doesn't use big words that I have to look up in a dictionary either, so I could read right through without interruption and I didn't feel the need to jump up and do something else. I was just relating. another thing, a friend of mine, another explorer of the astral, he said something important to me. he said when he reads a book, he considers books his friends, like sitting down with a friend, like I mentioned above. so he takes his time with each book he may acquire just enjoying his friend.
thats how I felt. that though friends were few and far between in my life, somehow I found a friend and I wouldn't just be putting him on the shelf like some of my other books.  I also gradually learned, and still learning the advanced phasing technique that Monroe gradually developed which is different than astral travel, but just as good as astral travel.

I'll bet though if I picked up his books again I'd still be finding things I missed the first time. that can be fun too!

"OBE's" and astral travels are phasing, just into a different range of vibration and consciousness patterns.

I have noticed that Bruce is moving threads to other areas.

If this thread is in the wrong place then by all means move it.

I just was confused as to where it should go.

Book area?  Or since it was dealing with the Afterlife then I put it in the Afterlife forum.

Anyways...will not hurt my feelings if this gets moved.

hi dood, I think we're in the right place with this thread but you're right we have so many rooms here it's hard to figure out where to put what. Bruce and Rosalie established this forum for us, so since he wrote 5 books, this is the main topic room and you are on topic.

I noticed the lizard topic got moved is all but can still be read in the off topics. I suppose lizard and afterlife just doesn't go together!  Smiley
