Hello people!  I'm Julie
Dec 1st, 2007 at 11:01am

Hi Folks,

I've just joined this group and wonder where the right place to put my introduction is...?  Have been interested (that's not a strong enough word) in Afterlife subjects for some time now and want to get into exploring it for myself.  I've done some meditation, some evp recording (going to get back into that soon but I've been recovering from a broken ankle and very horrible it's been, too!) and have received proof that there's more to this universe than the physical through spontaneous happenings in my home and from experiencing genuine mediumship.  I now want to get right into this stuff.  Your experiences that I've read on this board so far fascinate me.  I'm not too sure where to start! Does anybody have any ideas for me?  I've heard of Monroe and Moen for some time now but have only recently had the strong desire to explore.  What books/recordings should I start with?  By the way, I'm British, living in London, U.K., am 54 years of age and very interested in exploring the various focus levels (not the negative ones, though!)  I'd love to get to know some of you people better and exchange ideas, Best wishes, Juliemarie

Welcome Julie!  I'm in America, that makes me your little brother..lots of people are evolving fast in Britain. would love to vacation there some day..the fates willing.

this thread is the main room of our rambling castle, seems like as good a place as any for new members to come in. Over in the book forum, if theres anything you want to talk about regarding Bruce's or Monroe's books, feel free to have a look-see. Each thread is set up with a different book, but we are relaxed what you talk about.
looking forward to your next post if you want to talk about whatever. love, alysia

Hi Julie-
Welcome to the forum. Hope that you find this to be as rewarding a place to visit as I have. We have a lot of younger people in their 50s, as well as a few of us more mature types who are on the verge of making a more direct personal exploration of the spirit world.

Interestingly, age seems to have something to do with timing for some of us, but there are also some much younger participants who are equally as mature as some of the older ones. Age appears to have very little to do with maturity in an ultimate spiritual sense. And some of us are a mixed bag - in terms of psychic phenomena I personally am about as psychic as a flat rock, which makes me a total novice in that area, but I seem to have developed the gift of gab ... ummm ... I hesitate to say "maturely", maybe I should to use the term "over ripe". Anyway, it's fun and I look forward to your posts. Smiley

I found Bruces Book Five and CD set interesting - my copy was autographed even. I suggest that you read through his books to get an idea of what he does, and how you too can be a spiritual rescuer. Aside from generating good karma, it's an excellent spiritual practice. The first book of the series gives some good orientation to his beliefs, attitudes, the manner of his work and how you too can join in. After that, you'll notice that you wind up doing your own thing. Bruce's approach is a convenient doorway to your own development.

Enjoy
dave

H Julie. Welcome aboard. I'm irish and of a similar age to yourself.

While I have had some experience and am fairly sensitive I'm not as psychic as some of this mob. Cinerama is the word in some cases.

Perhaps two suggestions. Firstly my own experience is that the Monroe Institute's Hemi Sync sound system (as taught on their Gateway programme) seems to help stabilise those of us that are not all that gifted, or else that practiced. It helps too if you've an established meditation practice.

I'm only starting to work with the Moen books.

My own view is that exotic experience while playing its part is only one aspect of the game - it's ultimately about maintaining progress along your personal spiritual path - about raising consciousness and figuring out how better to live from wisdom and love....

Hi Julie!

Welcome!

Ditto what the others said.  Smiley

Bruce's books helped me to organize and authenticate previously random experiences. Now I can access the afterlife and not wait until it bursts through any of my remaining defences and misunderstandings. Folks here are wonderfully varied in their backgrounds and provide rich insights into ways of experiencing the afterlife and even our current life situations.

If there's anything you want to discuss about the readings at the top of this site or previous posts or whatever, bring it on in!  We all love to add our 'two cents worth'!

Hi Julie,

Nice to you are receiving such a warm welcome by some of the other great vistors here, let me add mine.  There are so many folks here with varied backgrounds and experiences these forums provide a wonderful resource for anyone interested in learning more about what exists beyond the horizon of the physical world.  Lots of tips that come from direct experience all aimed at assisting others in having their own direct experiences to arrive at your own conclusions.

Welcome,

Bruce
