Spirit Guides
Sep 23rd, 2007 at 11:32am

I have had Spirit Guides all my life, but I wasn't able to clearly comprehend what they were until I got into my 50's. I have had several encounters with a few who never returned. I think they "specialized" in the particular challenge I had at the time. They are still "around" but I don't call on them for help, because they already helped. But I do send telepathic "hellos" and "Thank You's" every now and then. My current spirit guide told me that I will grow on my own time line, and that there is no deadline, or foot race. I do have "dry spells' when I feel that this Earthly chaos is distracting me, and I miss the spiritual side . (think Las Vegas) I enjoy the wild ride of life, but need a sane place to land. We each struggle at times with "Spiritual vs Extreme Fun".  My Spirit Guide says to "Just listen to what you think and feel, time will take care of the conflict."  Have any of you had Spirit Guides who come in, and then go away ? (Specialists" ?)  My communications with Spirit Guides are mostly telepathic in nature.

I can relate to that. Two guides introduced themselves as "speakers of my higher self", one leader-fatherly, the other compassionate-motherly. One other is specialist to guide me to places and somehow technician-like;  another is a nonphysical partner. Well, sounds a bit like family so far. Then there was one appearing foreign/different, never been on earth, but experienced in many distant locales and I call him (felt more male) "the navigator" or Q. Others I met seemed to be specialized in healing, or particular areas of the spirit world.
I am not sure to what degree these guides are independent of me/real persons. I just talk to them when I feel I need to, and sometimes they pop up unexpected when I'm on a mind-journey.

And yes, there are times I'm not so good connecting to nonphysical persons and such. Physical life is overriding then, but I always come back to looking in the nonphysical areas, cause otherwise I sooner or later will feel ill.

Thank you, Spooky2.  I wish I were better at relating what the guides tell me.  During dreams, they sound so profound, and I declare that I will "remember everything". Then I awaken, and their words put to my journal paper don't quite have the same result. If we understand essentially what they mean, that's the important part. The "higher minds" sound like they have been around a LONG time, and they don't get flustered. I am always scanning waking consciousness for such people, and I have found a few here. That's a good sign.   Cool

Hello Gweexldax:

I first made conscious contact with spirit guidance about three years ago.  Perhaps not long enough for a pop in or out thing to take place. I have noticed this however, similar to what you said. Quite often my guidance doesn't answer my questions. There are several reasons for this. One is because I'm able to figure things out for myself. A number of occasions have shown that I obtain more complete answers when I try to figure things out myself.

Another reason is because I already know the answer, I just need to have more confidence in myself, which is something guidance tries to promote. Another reason is because I've already received the answer, so why ask again? Another reason is that my higher self wants me to fully accept that we already have a mind to mind connection, and I don't need to ask some of the questions I ask. Another reason is that I'm not open to, or ready for the answers I ask for.

The only guide I've seen with a human image is Jesus. Other wise I communicate with a presence. I believe this is mainly my higher self in a disk/oversoul sense. Sometimes this presence goes to an even higher level. I figure our higher self connects us to higher levels.

To conclude, I figure that at different periods during our life we need different things. Sometimes we don't need a conscious connection to spirit guidance.

It can be frustrating when messages can't be remembered. I've had experiences where I was communicating to a spirit about something important, I understood what was being discussed during the conversation, and then I can't remember any of it when the conversation is over.

I believe such occurences do have their effect eventually. Suddenly, I'll understand something, and I figure I learned about it during a communication I couldn't remember immediately afterwards.

Gweexidax, Welcome..From your post I see that you are doing just what you need to be. Communicating and excepting the communication from your guides. My guides have always come and gone., although I think it was more around my personal needs at the time. When needed they are there. Sometimes when I think that they should be beside me, they are not. But at a point later I have always found that there was a reason for then not to be there. Most times when I needed to figure out what was necessary or needed for a personal life lesson. Sometimes the best guidence I have received is none at all. I am here for a life lesson and if I were to use or need a guide for everything then I would not learn what I need to. Sort of a "use as needed" thing. Many time the people here have been my best guides. They are true "spirit" guides if they know it or not.

I have had many guides, named and unnamed, since I have made the effort to hear them, and the cast of characters has changed somewhat over the years. What I used to call "Higher Self" I now call HS, which is my nickname for Highest Self or Holy Spirit or whatever. At first I called them Kuthumi, Sanat Kumara, St. Germain, Vywamus, Bartholomew or whatever. And they were.

At Guidelines I asked to be shown who my guide is/was. First they showed me a dragonfly, and I said, "That's nice, and I really like dragonflies, but please try again." Then they showed me an eagle, and I said, "That's better, and I love eagles, but please try again." And then, with a little word of what I interpreted as caution, they said, "OK, please see what is really so." And they held up a mirror. ME.

So, I guess I am saying that all of it is-- YOU, all your guides are aspects of you come back to you and which are showing you the way ahead. And in the broadest sense, all the retrievals are aspects of-- YOU. All one of us.

As I have grown, so have my guides in response to my questions and explorations, and my comprehension of PUL.

Hello, all. You all seem acquainted with spiritual guides. Could you tell me how you do it? How do you perceive them? How do you know they are there?
Sorry, too many questions.
Thanks

Marsu:

This is how it worked for me. Initially, while meditating, I'd see various types of detailed imagery, usually with some kind of movement taking place. For example, I see automobile races, automobile accidents, people having conversations.  I didn't understand why.

Then one night I had three very intricate dreams one right afther the other. Each dream had just the right amount of clues, so I could realize that the situation that was taking place couldn't be happening. As the third dream was coming to an end I was thinking to myself, "Wow, these dreams would make a great novel or movie" it hit me real strong! I realized that these dreams weren't created by my subconscious mind. I realized that they were created by an intelligence beyond my own.

When I woke up I was in an expanded state of consciousnes and a lot of energy was running through me. I heard a voice say, sort of in thought form, just as you found inconsistencies in your dreams, find inconsistencies in your waking state." I realized that I had made contact with my I-there (I didn't think in terms of disk, because I hadn't read Bruce Moen's books at the time).  I could hear and feel numerous beings telling me that they were very happy that I finally made contact with them.

After I had this experience, I realized that the images I saw during meditation, were attempts by my spirit guidance to make contact with me.  I found that if I asked a question, I would receive a symbolic visual answer.  At this time, I mainly receive guidance through symbolic visual images, waking dreams, and regular dreams. I also recieve thoughts.

Not everybody is going to receive guidance in the manner I receive it. Different people, need different things.

If you want to make contact, pray to God and your higher self and ask for help. If you have good intentions you should make contact with the right folks. However,  it is good to be carefull. I've had some visitacions from spirits who were up to no good.

I must add that I've gone through a lot of spirit guidance assisted energetic work that enables me to make contact without going into a very relaxed state of some kind.

If you want to go into a relaxed state, don't fight it, just try to tune into a sense of your inner self and inner peace, without trying to bring your thoughts to a halt.  It is more of a matter allowing the space so communication can take place. It is also a matter of removing the mental barriers that get in the way. After a while it will be like riding a bicycle. Once you know how to tune in correctly, you know how to tune in.

Hi, thanks a lot for the tips. I have often heard about spirit guides, specially after I made Reiki Level I and I started feeling this uncomfortable warmth in my upper chakra. I was scared, but I was told my spirit guides wanted to contact me, but I was never aware of that, neither did they contact me. I will try and follow your tips, Thanks!
