Hi Pulsar,
Two, woops three, common causes of falling asleep, despite having focussed intent on the spiritual, come to mind---
One is that you're just too tired from daily life to focus. Then it's suggested you sleep 5 hours or so and try waking up about 4 AM to do an hour or two of spiritual explorations.
Some people show up at the PEs in the evening, some in the morning, it doesn't really matter since aspects of ourselves are probably there beyond our conscious attendance time.
Another cause is called 'click outs." Your conscious mind is confronted with too much that doesn't fit its belief system, so it has to make a quick exit to get away, and bing, you're asleep.
Another would be a safety valve again but based on protecting your physical health instead of your mental outlook.
Knowing from your past posts that you're a student and got your Moen books about when your studies began qualifies you for the first cause. Your POV on many non-material / afterlife issues finds you also well set up for the second cause. And in the chat room you have mentionned your hisory with cigarettes, so you also qualify for the third.---
Which? I don't know.
Your first reading through the Moen material might have to be just for you to set the stage for later developments, until your school study responsibilities become more routine and the smoke has cleared from your lungs abit more. What's important now is that you're going in the right direction and you're protected !
Setting your intent to accomplish these spiritual feats will bring you success when you're more fully ready.
(And perhaps you'll find other spiritual gifts before participating in the PEs !)
Love, Bets
