orbs in pictures
Aug 29th, 2007 at 2:44pm

I was just looking through some old pictures I had, some with things that looked like orbs showed up. How can you distinguish between an orb and orb look alikes...like a fleck of dust? One of them was really interesting, where some friends and I went to an abandoned asylum, and got 2 really weird pics. I'll try and post them if I figure out how, but just curious how you can tell what is what.

We had two or three threads one or two months ago about that, with many pictures, hope you can find it!

Awesome, thanks. I'll definitely check those out, just didn't have time earlier cause I had to run off to class. But I'd figure to post some of my pics anyway, just incase anyone wants to check them out...have a say in what they think.

One is right behind my shoulder...could be from the earring though, which you can see the light might be reflecting from.

Others are from a mental asylum run yeaaars ago that me and some friends snuck into last year, it was a very creepy place.

Those three pictures that are of the same spot were taken all within seconds or so of eachother, it could have been dust, but the fact that no one moved or touched anything made things reaaally interesting. Enjoy!

Hi again loveME8,
the orbs in your pictures are similar to those caused by dust not far from the lens when using the camera flashlight (well I'm the orb-sceptic of this board), and some reflections from metal or glass.
What looks strange is this one photograph in the abandoned building with these streams of fog: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2499040920102070602CZFtRu
What's that? Did you notice something? It really looks like fog, but in uncommon shapes. Or something like a cobweb very near the lens?

Hey, we weren't sure what it was when we took the picture, it freaked a lot of people out though. My first thought was a lot of dust from something being moved, butfrom what I remember nothing was moved. I was taking pictures really fast...didn;t want to draw too much light for the security guard to come around.

Thats why I wanted to post some of them on here though, cause some of my friends were sure we caught something. Thanks for the input!

I honestly don't think 'orbs' are spirits.

When I have encountered 'spirits' or what I consider 'visions' of spirits, they were "walking" like people, but they just looked like 'beings' (I have no other word for it). The experiences I have had that I consider 'visions' have been during trances (semi-conscious states, in this case).

Also, when I have astral projected sometimes involuntarily, my astral body was not in the form of an 'orb.'

No offense to anyone who has experiences otherwise.

I see little faces all over the place in it - but not quite clearly enough to be definitive - like looking at the clouds on a summer day - there are interesting collections of stuff. There is no reason to believe that a spirit would have to use any specific medium to project itself into the world, so I'd be inclined toward the idea that there may be spirits "on the other side" of the clouds projecting themselves into our world again. It's the idea of superposition again - multiple meanings to a single event, depending on perspective.
