have you used bruce's cd + book set?
Aug 12th, 2007 at 2:27am

i'm wanting to try it to achieve an "out of body" experience, or whatever you want to call it, that bruce and others are capable of.  did any of you learn from this set?  and what were your results?

i think it's the afterlife knowledge guidebook + cd..

Bruce doesn't claim to be an expert on OBEs. He uses a relaxation/imagination method. I liked his cds. I need to begin a second round with them, since I put them away for a while.

Hi Seeker-
I suggest that you read enough of Bruce's writings that you feel comfortable with the idea of doing spirit retrievals. Bruce uses a nice relaxing approach to take you into the space in which he customarily works when he does soul retrievals.

Bruce's CDs are evidently his own thoughts and approaches, which I found quite interesting. Bruce is not a hypnotist, and this is not a hypnotic state, but one of enhanced and directed awareness, with an emphasis on rescuing stuck souls. My only personal regret in using his CDs is that I lack the psychic skills that Bruce has, so I don't get the same clarity of results. (That says a lot for the poverty of my meditation practice.) The outcome is intended to put you into contact with souls in need of being rescued. That will, of itself, loosen your ties to the everyday world, but it is not a specific recipe for OBEs.

Seeker:  I was in one of Bruce’s workshops last month.  I’ve also used his CDs and Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook.  Thought I’d add a few observations to Blink’s and Dave’s posts.

As Blink points out, Bruce is not particularly into OBEs.  It’s not something he’s had a lot of experience with.  Some of us are more attuned to that and others like myself aren’t.  As Dave mentions, Bruce’s focus is in the area of retrievals and verification.

At the workshop I ended up doing a rudimentary retrieval.  The idea that anyone could do a retrieval after a two day workshop plus a couple hours the first night amazes me.  My experience had all the classic elements of a retrieval.  However, it did not have the vividness or detail that are present in most retrievals I’ve seen described.  The others in the workshop came up with a great deal more detailed information.  For me, however, being able to open myself and receive and understand non-physical impressions however basic the retrieval was quite an achievement.

Bruce’s CDs and Guidebook go into all of this.  For me the most important aspect of his exercises were the ones dealing with heart intelligence and the feeling of love – in other words: the emotions.  Working with his CDs I was able to open up more of my emotional side or heart energy.   Without that I doubt I would have had my basic retrieval experience and some other experiences I had at the workshop – I wouldn’t have been open to them.

Also I attended the Gateway Voyage in June.  It was a great program for me and, again, I credit Bruce’s exercises with opening me up to gain as much as I did from the program.  I would have benefited from the program in any case but being better able to balance out my left brained masculine analytical side of things let me gain so much more.  As Dave says loosening your ties to the everyday world is a key.

The nice thing about Bruce and Monroe is that they challenge you not to think about these things or analyze them but to just do them and experience them for yourself.

Happy Seeking,
Rob

Seeker:

I have Bruce's Guidebook; however, I have not read it as thoroughly as others on this board (haven't made it that far as of yet Smiley )

What is particularly interesting about OBEs, in my experience, is that they seem to happen when you least expect it. During my Gateway Voyage, I had three and in no case did I think "I'm going to OBE"; I should also mention that my OBEs are different in this case, because I don't really "leave" my body in the traditional sense. I just find myself standing in some place, having made the shift without any vibratory or physical signals. I have had those in the past, but at some point, that part of the experience just seemed to disppear.

I think Rob summed it up best with: The nice thing about Bruce and Monroe is that they challenge you not to think about these things or analyze them but to just do them and experience them for yourself.

I have an 8 hr. cd set a friend sent me of Bruce's workshop interactions with the folks. I loaded them to my I-tunes folder as everytime I give a listen, I learn something new. I like to hear the people in his seminars talking first person, makes me feel like I'm really there.
in the tapes I have (will have to give them a name, I'm not on my own computer) he mentions the experiences in his books as reference points. he has a soft spoken manner of voice which is easy to listen to and follow. they might be Gateway tapes.
Have heard that Bruce can get 100% participation of everyone making contact with a deceased person and/or their first retrieval. he goes into different countries and the gatherings are small I've heard.

what I've learned over the years is too much to explain here, but from the tapes specifically, I learned to trust myself, what I was getting..trust is always the first issue.
