Creating a shared reality
Jul 31st, 2007 at 10:30pm

Bruce,

You said that the way places like Heavens and Hells are created is through many people putting their belief into such a place.  So it must be that similar kinds of people have similar kinds of thoughts, ideas, and beliefs and maybe similar kinds of spiritual identities which draws them all to the same kind of place?

If a place were created "over there", a nonphysical place that is not designated as a Heaven or Hell, not a belief system territory, just a peaceful place, isn't it possible that certain kinds of people could be drawn to such a place.

I have a story for you that I'm not sure I've shared with you yet.  A few years ago before I knew you I created a meditation/visualization of a peaceful place to go in my mind.  Its purpose was for me to have a place I could focus on to help me de-focus from physical distractions while rejuvenating my spirit and get connected to my higher self.  All that good stuff.  I was able to get so deeply involved in creating this place that I spent several minutes there focusing on creating such details as a river which I could touch and feel the trickle of water through my fingers, a park I could walk through and admire the beauty of the trees and flowers, and even enjoy the smell of the fresh air and hear the leaves blowing.  It was a great meditation which did its job, making me relaxed afterwards and satisfied that I'd created a nice place mentally for myself.

So, some time later, maybe weeks later, I decided to go into this peaceful place again.  I used the same technique as before, concentrating on the same details in the same manner.  What I discovered were things actively happening in the scene that I was not mentally controlling or trying to create.  I was actually shocked by these changes, while in my mind I mentally walked through my place just observing the changes that had taken place since the last time I was there.

I had to ask myself, how can this be?  I created this place, and I know I didn't put these things here.  It was filled with people I hadn't dreamt up in my mind.  These people were using my park, my pathway through the woods, and riding bikes.  An example of what I mean, in my mind I stood up from where I was sitting, turned around to cross a gravel path (I knew the path was there as I had created it from before) and suddenly some people on bikes whizzed by so fast I had to quickly take a step back off the path.  That's what I'm talking about...things were happening that I wasn't controlling with my thoughts.

When I went to walk in the park there were flower beds and benches I hadn't created, and people sitting or walking in the park.  I saw an elderly woman walking through the park in a hospital gown.

So tell me Bruce, how did I create this place in my mind, for my own purposes, and suddenly it becomes inhabited by other folks?  Was the woman in the hospital gown perhaps a physically living person lying in a coma in a hospital somewhere, and dreaming of my place?  What would make people drawn to my place?  Or perhaps I only think that I was the one who created it?  Maybe other people's own thoughts had a hand in helping create it and I was only partaking in my own part of it, only able to see what I was building at the time, unaware that other similarly minded people were helping to create other aspects, with all of our efforts combining into one place?

After several years I'm still baffled by this experience.

Thanks for anyone's thoughts on this subject!

Love,

Vicky

Very cool Vicky! I wish I had some insight for you that was based on experience or knowledge... I think that your first theory rings more true to me though. Perhaps all that was required was a thought- I would like to be in a park riding my bike right now- and they would find themselves there if they didn't already have a specific park in mind. On the other board, a forum member's friend is on a beach. Did she create the beach? Perhaps it is as simple as that. Generic intention vs. specific.

Love,
Michelle

There are ,in my experience, several different ways these people and other things could have shown up.  You have already pointed out some of the ones I woud see as possible.  The woman in the gown and others may have been drawn in by their resonance with the "feel" of the place you created.

It is also possible that you had been in the process of creating your place before you consciously "decided" to create it.  This is similar in a way to the story I told in Voyages into the Afterlife.  While exploring the Education Center I asked a Helper to point out something interesting.  When he said, Well Bruce most of the time when you come here I see you going in there, pointing to the Hall of Bright Ideas.  I was shocked!  I had never consciously been there before, yet this guy claimed he saw me there regularly.   Maybe you had been creating it for quite a while, or visiting it for quite a while, and then became consciously aware of it.

One other source of these things could be described as your expectations of what should be in such a park, consciously intended or not, during your act of creation.  Even though we don't expicitly create every detail, those little details can be implief by what we expect to find in a park.  That's one of the trickier parts of creating anythinh.  If some where in the back of your my you hold the belief that rude bicyclists often ride in parks, that belief, even if you are not consciously aware of expressing it, can take form within your creation of a park.  This comes under the general heading of, we all create our own reality.

From the actions of some of the people you encountered is souds like at least some of them are independant, self aware beings.  Have you ever talked to them and asked them where they came from and why they are in your park?  Their answers might prove very interesting.

Well, we are all packed up for the Japan trip and it's late.  0 dark 30 comes early in the morning.  So by for now.

Love,

Bruce

I keep forgetting the concept of how we do things nonphysically before we do them "physically".  You and I have talked about this concept many times when we discuss the nature of OBEs.  It certainly applies to the nature of nonphysical creations as well.

No I didn't talk to anyone, just observed the activity.  I haven't actually gone back again but at times have just remembered it, enjoying the feel of remembering it.  I'll have to try the same process of going there that I did before.  I like the idea of trying to talk and interact.  You're right, I'm sure it would prove very interesting.

Thanks for the reply, and have a great trip!

Love,

Vicky

HiVicky-
Bruce explained the "people part". The "mechanical part" is based on the inevitability of growth. Any two (or more) thoughts in your mind will tend, with no effort on your part, to generate every possible kind of combination.

This has been pretty well proven, and can be shown to be statistically probable.

The neat stuff in your initial layout thus couldn't help but evolve into more neat stuff. Of course this also happens to different collections of thoughts in everyday people in everyday life, which is one of the reasons that we develop different opinions.  Fortunately, because in the Spirit World you are God, you can create or alter matters as desired. - Too bad we can't do that with politics!  Wink

Thanks for the over-poulation alert, Vicky!

I'm going to try to find my hide-away again and see if it's now also a part of the burbs.  Smiley

Although we think we want a retreat, do you suppose we still unknowlingly 'invite' participation
from others to fend off any loneliness? Could your intruders be your disk family members
just keeping your place on their radar until you get back?

Bets

This reminds me of something that happened in Earth life. A small
town had a big water hole on a stream where the kids would go
swimming in the summer. But it turned out that it was on private
property, and the owners did not live there. When the owners
returned and found the kids swimming there, they closed it off and
made it inaccessible, because they were afraid of lawsuits if there
was an accidental drowning there. Like, they were not about to
provide a life guard, like they have in cities.

This dismayed the people of the small town, because that water hole
was their only recreation.

So, your story of your place there reminds us that life exists as
a world full of life, on the higher planes, somewhat the way it
exists on this plane. This life up there also continues and
progresses. When you go up there your life continues and
progresses.

I remember a scene in Star Trek, where the crew of the Enterprise
played a game of 3 level chess. There were 3 boards mounted one
above the other, boards made of transparent plastic. Moves on one
of the levels affected what happened on the other levels. The
3 levels were all interrelated. This makes a kind of analogy in my
mind about the cosmic levels and their interrelationships.

I put in a post some time ago, about an addictive video game that
had plots involving characters that could be manipulated by the
players. It was found by meditators that these characters now
existed in the astral and had continued their lives there, with new
developments going beyond what happened in the game.

You could try building a swimming hole in your place there, or
other recreational facilities, and see what happens.
I cant quite get the idea of people making themselves bicycles to
ride on, or a tennis racket? Hmm. How many gears should the bicycle
have?  And who needs a bicycle anyway, when you can just float?
As an inventor, I make things in my mind first. Up there,
presumably you don't have to do the rest of it? Should I make
myself a circular table saw to cut some plywood, or can I just skip
that part? This is weird.
