Howard Storm's near death experience book is a really good book.

I'm a huge fan of Christ.  I've had a number of experiences which have shown me that he is a key part of the divine plan.

One of my experiences with him is as follows. One night I was reading a book by Elaine Pagels.  She wrote that the Gospel According to Thomas speaks of Jesus as an enlightened being, like other enlightened beings; the Gospels of Mark, Matthew and Luke speak of him as a messenger of God; and the Gospel of John speaks of Christ as the creative aspect of God, and Jesus is the human manifestation of this principle.

Before I went to sleep that night I asked to have a dream which explained which version is true. In the middle of the night I woke up from a dream. I turned on my night lamp.  I grabbed my dream journal and a pen, so I could take some notes. Then I saw a light flash. I see spirits appear as flashes of light quite often. This flash of light was much bigger and much more powerful than any of the flashes of light I had seen before.  Its energy felt divine. It felt more real than the physical World. I didn't see nor hear Jesus, but inwardly I could tell this is the presence of Christ.

I forgot about my dream notes; put down my pen and dream journal, and turned off my night lamp. I was overcome with a lot of energy. The presence of Christ worked on me energetically for about 15 minutes. I have awakened kundalini, so I've felt lots of energy before. But this energy was beyond kundalini.  It caused the energetic pathway from my heart chakra area to the top of my head to become more alive and than ever before. I felt divine love during this experience. I felt lots of grattitue, humility, reverence and love towards Christ.

Ever since the energetic pathways from my heart chakra to the top of my head are more alive. When I receive energetic work it is different than how it was with kundalini.  The energy can have a lot of force, more than kundalini, but it leads to feelings of vastness, peace and love, more than kundalini.  It is clear that the energy is guided by a divine intelligence when it works on me.

There are other people on this forum who love and revere Christ. Some people have trouble dissassociating him from certain fundamentalistic ideas.  I used to do the same. But then I decided to find out if I was wrong, opened my heart and mind, and found out that I was wrong. I am so grateful that Christ did not give up on me.

Regarding the question I asked before I fell asleep, I believe I was told that regardless of which gospel is more accurate when it comes to who Christ is, the presence of Christ can be in as many places as it/he wants to be. All a person has to do is be sincere about receiving help, and he or she will receive it.

The modern NDE craze was inspired by a spectacular Christian NDE experienced by George Ritchie, now a psychiatrist.  Ritchie's book "Return from Tomorrow" is the best written NDE book because of the unique intelligence and articulateness of its author.    It is precisely Ritchie's NDE that inspired a young Raymond Moody to write his ground-breaking book "Life After Life," which in turn catalyzed countless other NDE books and research projects.  Moody rightly rates Ritchie's experience as one of the most impressive NDEs ever recorded.  

But in my view, atheist Howard Storm's NDE book "My Descent into Death" is even more powerful, though not as well written.  New Agers like the denizens of this site freeze like Bambi in the headlights in the face of a strikingly significant fact: atheists frequently encounter Jesus as the Being of Light.  They often initially protest: "But I don't even believe in you."  To this Jesus typically reples, "But I DO believe in you!"  Jesus also occasionally appears in NDEs to Jews and Muslims who do not believe in Him in the Christian deovtional sense.  By contrast, after much research, I have been unable to come up with a single example of Muhammad appearing as the Being of Light to a Muslim.  These are old issues that have been thoroughly debated on this site in past months and years.

What makes Storm's book uniquely powerful are his post-NDE verifications and the mind-boggling profound question-and-answer session betweens Storm and Jesus.  Much of this material is unexpected by somone with a casual exposure to Christianity, but, upon further analysis, proves solidly biblical.  At the same time, this material exudes a refreshing plausibility that stands in sharp contrast with the counter-intuitive twaddle that infects much of the standard New Age diet.  If you read both books, I would love to discuss them with you either private messages or open posts on this site.
