Need some feed back: Dream or OBE or both!
Jun 21st, 2007 at 3:04am

Greetings all

its been a while....I have been busy with my own journey though. I had an experience this morning which I need some help with. I woke up early morning and decided to go back to sleep. As far as I can remember I then fell asleep.

I started 'dreaming' that I was lying in bed. I started to feel someone/something gently tugging at me leg. I couldnt see him/her/it but it proceeded to gently pull me more and more from the leg and I felt my second body being pulled out. The feeling was almost like a fish nibbling at a fishing line. Eventually I was freed from my body only to return to it rather abruptly.

I felt it again, this tugging at my leg and it loosened me once more from my body. As I left my body I slowly sank to the floor. I then rose up to the top of the bed and tried to see my physical body. It was not there...I was confused as to why it was not there. I then woke up.

strange things:

- I was in a bunk bed in the 'dream'. I do not own one, nor have I ever owned one. The room appeared to be at least slightly different to my actual room.

- who/what was pulling me out of body from my leg? It felt like an intelligent force. It was guiding me out ever so gently, it seemed it was trying not to scare me.

- where was my pysical body??? does the absence of it imply that this was not an out of body experience?

let me know what you guys think

I am renting my place and wonder if in the past there was a bunk bed in the room. I doubt it though because I sleep in the master bedroom. Mybe some residul astral forms I dont know.

regrds to all

Peter

this is interesting Peter, thanks for posting it. the astral or light body form is a material body however it is a finer material not seen by the physical retina.
it is attached to the physical by magnetic pull. it contains life force; it could be seen to feel a little like slipping off a tight glove that fits exactly so. I would suggest from first glance that you have a helper initiating you of your capacity to leave your body. it could also be seen as your higher mind, or higher self initiating you, and appearing as an outside force.

the attention of the mind if focused on the physical body will at once want to jump back into it, so it was shielded from your view, is my opinion.

these things can induce fright. it is natural, human nature to fear "first times" or the unknown I should say. u seem to have a very good instructor whoever it is.

no certainly not.

u might be on the right track regarding residual astral forms, it could be focus 15, a no time astral zone. the bunk beds for sure though are thought forms which could mean future or past remnants, or you could have gravitated to the field of another whom is a part of your disc and that could be their room. thats a rather advanced obe though, so I can't say for sure, but nothing is solid out there, its all in a state of flux.
keep us posted please! alysia

Hi pk and Alysia and all.
pk, I have heard about beings, mostly in human form, who pull out people off their bodies often. It seems to be a kind of standard when one begins to consciously OBEing. Some tell they are their helpers and meet them from then on frequently, others don't meet those entities anymore during their OBE travels.

About the missing physical body, a concept or a frame in which you could put it in would be that you projected into a nonphysical area, the astral, or a personal but still nonphysical place, so that your surroundings might not be the same as in the physical. That you didn't saw your body although you expected to see it might come from fear, or from a natural avoiding, or just because your waking state consciousness, which is mainly focused on the physical (yet), just isn't used to see this, and/or does not accept that this is possible. Robert Bruce states that even when you project into the "real time zone", which is his name for his concept of a sort of widened physical area, your surrounding can be very quickly influenced by yourself, especially when you look at a spot for longer than only briefly.

thats true Spooky Smiley the attention of the mind is so important what will be perceived out there. its quite possible Peter found his situation "unbelievable." so no perception of a physical body would be seen. real time zone RTZ is coined by Robert Bruce? I like that definition of an expanded physical realm.

Hi Alysia and Spooky,

Thank you for your responses. I needed some input from seasoned travellers like yourselves. Alysia quietly I am confident that it was a helper of sorts (whether it was my higher self or some other) which makes it an exciting new chapter. I am keen to learn more about the disc theory so if you have a link or two that may help please let me know. Spooky, for sure I have a head full of expectations regarding what I should see or experience. In fact I was convinced recently that my previous projections were simply dreams of OBT because I have been reading so much. Had it not been for the initial vibrations I may still have held that belief. I like your idea about the traveller shaping the environment. I think this may explain the inconsistencies I spoke of. For example, I realised it was not my bed before I moved to find my body. Thus, this initial suprise may have led to subsequent shaping of the experience.

So far all of my short out of body trips have been to non-physical areas from what I can gather. I had another one, where I left my body with my wife (she has no recollection of the experience) and we flew around a city I could not recognise. Along the way I picked up a girl (young, blonde) by the hand and flew around with her for a while (from memory she was holding a teddy bear). Eventually she just disappeared which sounds suspiciously like what many would describe a simple retrieval to be. We continued to fly around (my wife and I) and made our way into a shopping centre. We flew around until we passed into a bank vault type room where we tripped off an alarm of sorts. Startled by the alarm and resulting panic we did our best to flee the centre. This experience was initiated by vibrations and heavy body feelings.

what suprised me about this latest projection is the fact that the pulling at my second body seemed entirely at the control of someone/something else. To describe it as a fish tugging on the end of the line is the best I can do to describe the feeling. Sure, when you are fishing ou feel your line pull and move as a result of the shifting water and boat, however the nibbling of a fish is unmistakable...this was the same recognition I felt. In addition, this pulling sensation was more significant than anything I have experienced before in an altered state. The contact was just so tangible and intelligent that I know it was from something else. Apologies for the muddled articulation of this but it is a difficult thing to describe. Almost like being 'schooled' but in a loving, considerate manner.

I will keep you guys posted, usually after a profound experience nothing mush happens for a while and then things build up more momentum. I will keep you guys posted. Again thanks for the replies, they always help greatly.

regards
Peter

Hi Peter, your personal descriptions are good.  I appreciate individual perspective and terminology when it comes to describing such things as OBEs because it helps us to identify with each other.  Your "fish tugging on a line" not only is a good description of what you're talking about but it also brings back memories of me fishing with my dad as a kid.  I know exactly what type of tugging sensation you mean.

Your OBE environment doesn't have to match physical reality, so just because you find inconsistencies in comparing your OBE environment to what you know of the physical doesn't mean that you are not having a true OBE.

Any OBE experience is a non-physical experience.  And, like the others have said, you find yourself in a state of being where your perception is highly influenced by thought and expectation.  I would add that it is also influenced by our interpretation of information.  So, there could be different combinations of the roles these elements play in any given OBE.  OBEs really are so individualized in this way which makes them so unique and interesting, to me anyway.

I would suggest that you remember to identify any of your experiences with how you feel during them, not so much with what you are actually experiencing.  Focus on feeling your conscious awareness.  Once you get a clearer handle on your own self, your being, your consciousness, you will find that your experiences become clearer, having less influence by thought, expectation, and interpretation.  Know what I mean?  This is my opinion.

Hi Vicky

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I enjoyed what you wrote about familiarising oneself with...well..... oneself! I get the feeling that is what most of this is all about.

regards

Peter
