The troublesome quest of the afterlife
Jun 18th, 2007 at 1:25pm

I had a very crazy dream last night.

In the dream, at first it seemed as if I was watching a television program.  It was a guy talking about the afterlife.  Soon the guy was actually there talking to me.  He was telling me about what the afterlife was like.  He was actually telling me about one aspect of it in particular that seemed to be a problem for most spirits.

He said that most spirits were out looking to find the perfect feeling of love, peace, and extasy.  There was a means of temporarily obtaining this feeling.  I forget what one had to do to obtain this feeling, but the intense feeling of extacy would run through the head of the spirit and then jolt throughout the rest of it, lasting maybe two or three seconds.  The means of obtaining this shock of love were quite easy it seemed.

The problem was, this was a false feeling in my opinion, almost an equivalent of taking drugs in the physical world.  The impression I got from the dream was that these spirits just wanted to feel this feeling without really caring about how they obtained it or without consideration for anyone else but themselves.  They were on a quest for this feeling rather than a quest for love, peace, and oneness.

I experienced this feeling in the dream and it was very nice.  I could understand how someone could get addicted to it.  The man told me that spirits looking for this feeling only were on the wrong path, almost how a drug addict is.  I am not sure if there is any truth to what I was told in this dream.  It seems like my dreams are fantasy laced with truth, so its difficult to know for sure.

this is profound info for me OOBD. thanks. I think you're right feelings can be like drugs over there, even here.  we should meditate on this. I did hear of some aliens who have no emotions one time. they had no emotion of love to impart to the human/alien hybrid mix and they didn't understand love. thanks, alysia

Hi OoBD,
I sometimes have short moments of feeling free, light, careless, strong, and of course want to make this feeling stay but noooo, then it's gone and I don't know how to bring it back easily. Maybe it's the same thing as in your dream. You can have that great feeling, you probably stumble over it on occasion, but without insight, you can't make it stay. But once you had it, you for sure are addicted! But you can't buy it so you look for means to have it forever, and that is something like meditation, getting wiser etc....

I agree with your point of view on this, Oobedoo  Smiley

Your message is very timely for me.  I've been OBing for the main purpose of soul melding and should have come to your conclusion awhile back. I told myself it was OK because it was a type of love, but it's not the best use of my time or love out there.  It led to some misunderstandings.

Many thanks for the reminder.

Bets

Bets: My way is always to try to hold on to a good feeling when I come across it, I think there's nothing wrong with it (as long as one avoids traps like drugs or so), when we lack of enough insight of it, it will go away on it's own; sometimes it's for me similar like it is with drugs, I do the rituals which I thought caused the good feeling, but the feeling won't come back, so the superficious conditions are there, only the real causes, which I obviously don't know, for the joy I want to come back are not there. So, it's a troublesome quest as OoBDude called it.

Alysia: Yes it's all in the life mix, get all or nothing, right? We take a bit of everything, napping here and there, move through mud and ether and collecting PUL seed.

well I should be serious about troubles Smiley heres the way I look at what we do, which is a joyful thought that is like motivation, not flipping joy, not unrealistic ups and downs, but like steady calm feeling what we do here. we think about those that are coming after us, that if we can jot something down, what we saw, what we did, they read it, they get a little hint and they do us one better. so pioneering on spiritual levels. we must always hold our heads high my feeling.

one time I read about the pioneers.how very hard it was to travel from midwest to calif. by a covered wagon. all along the trail that was made the ones who came after saw the crosses on the trail were mounting up. life expectancy was around 30. think of the mothers who buried their young, while looking for a new home. I think about this what it means to be a serious explorer of outer space or inner space, both the same thing to me. but with inner space travel, the physical body lies safe in bed or a chair.

so keep your head up what you guys do, I for one am benefiting to learn from you. just don't pull your hair out! love, alysia Smiley

I'm kind of late on this one, sorry.

I don't know if this relates, I remember reading a post on a kundalini forum.  A person's guide, which took the form of the Goddess (kundalini verbiage), explained to him that there are spirits who go around looking for astral sex.  It was explained that they aren't evil; nevertheless, it is best to not associate with them because they are more interested in getting another charge, rather than doing someting productive.

P.S. Most?  Cry I hope not.

I heard about those kind too Albert, they are like the ones that sniff alcohol fumes of the drunk and ask them to drink more as they miss the stupor. they are like the sex pile Monroe describes.
it is always good to shield one's thoughts from that, and keep to pure intent, never to think on thoughts that might attract such to you, after all, no free charges are available unless you want to do that. like attracts like too, so it's a learning situation sometimes. a protective barriar works well to envision if that is something fearful to one.

This dream could be broadcasting a fear of happiness, of feeling joy, of feeling the timelessness of love. Do you usually listen to television advertising?

What is this man selling?

Think about it.
