HI Ellie- I once had a regression client who remarked that in a prior life he and his wife had a tiny cottage in which he died. He waited around until she died, and they went together off into the Light. I asked what happened next, and he said, "Oh, she went to her group and I went to mine."
It seems that the ties we hold in life are less important in death. This, however, is moderated by the fact that in death we can recognize, at least potentially, that we share our existence with all others, all of us as parts of the unity of all souls and all life, all participating in the essence of the Creator. So it seems not that we lose touch with each other, but rather that we come into closer contact, limited only by our inability to love one another. Perhaps in death we finally find a way past the material barriers that prevent us from true closeness in life.
It might be helpful to pray for and be supportive of the youngsters, absolving them of any blame or anger, such as the "How dare you die when I loved you so much," kind of emotions. Of course that also helps us who are still hanging onto the material scene.
May God bring you and your village peace and understanding, dave
