It's the "simultaneous other selves" that is really mind blowing! That's a hard concept to grasp, especially how it manifests itself in the afterlife. I think I understand the very basic premise of it, but I knowing there's so much more. You had mentioned in your other reply to me about us being used to having bodies in our physical life, the perception that we all have different personalities, thoughts, feelings, etc., and that this is not the case in the afterlife. There was a post by a new person about his fear that he would lose his identity in the afterlife, but the general consensus was that this isn't the case.
So I guess it's hard to wrap my head around being "one" with others without a body, without my own private thoughts and feelings, yet still being "me". In earthly reasoning, it seems like a contradiction! Ok my head hurts.

we always keep our individuality on the other side, the whole premise on the other side is you get to keep whatever you earned. like we build character here, on the other side it just continues, the experiences, only without a physical dense body, but hey, I hear we can change our hair color! oooweee! think I'm kidding? I've read a whole lot of books and we are a pretty creative bunch over there.
merging with your group or disc though is a choice, but still the individual, from what I have learned, all that is fine and decent in that individual is what surives, the faults get slowly rectified and with assistance from loving folks.
the thing about the oneness, is that telepathy operates, where an instantaneous thought exchange happens..you have the other persons sending and you receive, and its so instantaneous that you begin to think wonder who is sending what, who is receiving what because its like a mind meld situation in communicating, but still i dont lose anything with the communication, rather theres much to absorb from both parties in interaction.
we always get the question, the fear of losing our self upon death. Gordon writes a good book describing some retrievals you might want to pick up for additional glimpses into our other home. the book is called Eternity, and how to enjoy it. in this book he says many of those he retrieved he watched them come to their own funeral and stare at the corpse trying to figure it all out. just seemed funny to me, as it shows how hard it is for us even in this enlightened century so called, to let loose of the flesh, we get so ATTACHED that the flesh is who we are.
its just a vehicle for experience. don't sweat the small stuff. but do take care of the body while you're getting experience.
the other lives get assimiliated into your knowledge banks, it tends to blend in. our minds are expansive things.
