I've been trying to contact my spirit guide nearly every night now before i go to sleep and sometimes i really do feel a presence in the room when i try to make contact , other times i get nothing and sometimes i even have very odd dreams.

Now what i dont get is  if my guide is making its presence known to me , then why doesnt it show it self to me ?

I feel i'm really ready for it so i dont get what i'm missing

do i even have a guide at all ?

Is it at all possible for anyone that is experiencd to make contact with my guide ?

that would be great mendel, do you need my details or something by email ?

I'm on msn i could give you my screen name for that as well if you want ?

I would like to mention though for people who are interested in connecting with their guides, soul, higher self, etc. - The best method is Bruce Moen's imagination technique, which is best explained in his fifth book.  This is the technique I use and I'm still amazed with the results I get.

I agree with what Mendel wrote below. My ability to communicate with spirit guidance has increased after receiving lots of energetic work. Perhaps you would be better off trying to make contact with you higher self or by praying to God. Do both at the same time.

I've found that spirit guidance doesn't always manifest in the way we expect. Start out by paying attention to your dreams. Keep a dream journal by your bed. After a while you'll come to understand that messages can be received through dreams.  Ask questions before you go to sleep, and see if you get an answer. When it comes to interpreting your dreams, trust the feelings you get. If all of the pieces of the puzzle of a dream fits together, you'll know that you got it right.  After a while you'll develop a language that both you and your higher self understand. For example, for me, the color green represents love, and the color yellow represent will power (based on heart chakra colors.).  Work with your higher self to create a symbolic language that you can understand. After a while, once you're energetically ready, perhaps you're ready now, you'll be able to receive symbolic visual images and thoughts while awake, sometimes in the form of waking dreams.

I've been asking myself questions before going to sleep like , who was i in my past life and other questions like well my life eventually get better. To my suprise i think i've been getting the answers from my guide or maybe something else.

When i asked myself who was i in my past life , i had a dream that i was a pirate
i was at a camp , there was a small chest with coins in it , i was looking at the chest for a good miniute. I then made a run for it with the chest. After that i remember i was at a cliff and there was a guard standing behind me with grey hair just stareing at me.

After that i remember i made a jump for it and landed in the sea and saw my ship. After it was all blackness and i woke up remembering the dream.

Then i went to sleep again and had the same pirate dream but in a modern day setting outside my house on the street. I remember i was on the run from something , i had the chest with coins with me . I crossed the street outside my house and tripped on the pavement.

The chest dropped and oppend half of the coins fell out and i desperately started putting them in when out of no were a woman appeared, i felt i kind of new her but i just cant remember were i knew her from, anyway she put her hand on mine and says CHANGE YOUR NAME

The other dream i had was when i asked myself  well my life better, i had a dream of me being in New York City, I knew it was NYC cause of the famous landmarks. thats all i remember from this dream.

What do you guys think this could mean ?

thats interesting you got what you asked for. I do that too once in awhile, we call it setting an intention. sometimes I go to sleep after the intention and dream.

I would just write it all down if you're going to explore your dreams, as we can get genuine glimpses of other places and times that we were involved in. later, u can re-read a dream and remember even more detail. dreams are so easy to forget, we should write them down, as theres always a good reason to dream, something there to look at for sure. well, we used to have a lot of pirates in the world. as a matter of fact, theres some pirates still on this board me thinks! lol. my best to you in your adventures..alysia
