It eats at me.
Think about it for a moment. There is no expenditure the gov't
is more willing to spend BILLIONS on, than new weapons. We
all know this.
-If the "afterlife paradigm" is true, then by extension, there IS
such a thing as magic.
-If reality is purely mechanistic and naturalistic, then there is NO
such thing as magic. With me so far?
If there is an afterlife and magic, where are the special lightning-bolt
throwing Army wizards, then? Why don't we have soldiers who can
turn invisible, or fly like Superman? Where are our REAL-LIFE
"Jedi Knights" who can yank the rifles from the hands of terrorists by pure power of Mind, or pick up a metal bar and deflect incoming rifle bullets while making "Force-powered" twenty-foot leaps into the air???
Why can Bin Laden/Al Quaeda surprise us, when we could have a
whole Corps of Clairvoyant Mages to see the future? Why indeed,
do airports need all the technological gimcrackery, when we could
have a sorceror or two who'd know if there was a bomb or contraband
on board?
I'm sure the military would spend BEAUCOUP BILLIONS on enabling our military to do such things, were they possible. EVEN IF THE OFFICIAL LINE GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC, IS THAT THEY WERE *IMPOSSIBLE*!
But do we see any of this happening?
Nope.
Instead, we rely on HIGHLY FALLIBLE TECHNOLOGY, based on straight-forward, meat-and-potatoes physics; bullets, bombs, electronics, ect - AND draconian legalistic security measures - for all of our national security. JUST WHAT YOU'D
EXPECT IN A MECHANISTIC, MATERIALISTIC UNIVERSE!!!
Have any of you an answer for ~this one~?

Don't be so sure that abilities or research of this nature doesn't exist within army/government circles.

Who knows what the us government is doing?  Roll Eyes

Just because I belief in the afterlife doesn't mean I believe in the 'supernatural' or 'magic'. I believe that what is perceived as supernatural is merely what is natural but not yet understood or known about by the everyday person atleast.

Ever heard of the Philadelphia Experiment? Ships disappearing. This is just one link, google is your friend and will share plenty of other links with you.

Also look up 'Remote Viewing' there are plenty of reports on it being used in secret intelligience.

It's a good question, Chum.....

It is my impression that too many people in this world view themselves as powerless, and are unwilling or uninformed or unable to spend the time it would take to develop these sorts of strengths.

Perhaps there were many more miracles of that nature in the past when people were not so sure they knew what was real and not real in their lives.

But it's a good question. Why do we choose a gun? All of us know in our hearts that it is wrong to kill "Bambi's" mother...

But, sadly, as we can notice by seeing the camera video, from the Middle East, this week made public, of a 17 year old female dragged through her village and stoned to death in an "honor" killing to protect the "honor" of her family  in the Middle East, guns are not always necessary.

Sometimes they serve their purpose dangling from the arms of "peace officers" standing nearby.

Why do we choose to protect some and not others? It seems that this is the lesson we are here to learn.

Never Say Die is correct.

If you look into remote viewing, an adept in it named Ingo Swann worked for years in secret competing with the Russians during the Cold War to use remote viewing to look inside military and civilian secret installations.  There is even a declassified Government Remote viewing manual for military trlainees online, and I can find the reference if there is interest.

If the government is privy to secrets behing the mind/spirit, there is no point in releasing them if they can be used to the strategic advantage (or so they think).  It has been hypothesized that in Roswell, they really did find a crashed alien spacecraft, but that the technology would be studied in secret for just those closed-minded strategic secrets.

Chum, you want wonder wizards hurling lightning bolts - perhaps since thought can create anything immediately in the astral planes, you can most easily get that there.  It is clear that our earth life system is designed to operate under common laws.  If it is in our nature to be able to create almost anything in Focus 27 with thought (if we get there), there are deliberate physical laws and roadblocks to prevent this in our earth life plane.  Why, you ask?  Perhaps it is our frailties, our seeming mortality and all the risks and decisions involved in this system that makes our choices that much more "real," here on earth.  Its akin to Bruce's talk of spoiling the end of the movie.  If you knew you were immortal, that there was a spirit world (with certainty), that the "you" in your mind coud never really be harmed (except by your own thought or actions), perhaps you woud not play the game of life the same way - not learn to express love.

The place for the anything is possible magic you talk of may be in the astral for most residents over there, but unless the whole of humanity ascends at once, I don't believe that it is in the physical plane.

Oh, I totally agree...we are not told everything.

As an aside, Chum....I know you love the ultimate pleasure of going to sleep at night....

What is waking up for you about? Very different? It seems to depend on what day it is for me....if I had a six day work week as I just did, then Sunday morning seems very very nice. It is almost worth the trouble it took to reach.

actually I read many reports of people who saw the future unfold regarding 9/11. Most didn't try to report it as this kind of imagery and visions is not well accepted yet as authentic therefore helpful in prevention.
from what I gathered in my personal exploration of why 9/11 occurred is that America is supposed to be the first to "wake up" that being a super power does not mean we can't be brought to our knees, so we as as average citizens needed to wake up and smell the coffee, perhaps we were too complacent in our super power status, and were becoming lax in considering a world view point, not just a nation's viewpoint.
Boris here pointed out something important, he said we've made some changes for the better over across the sea, due to the 9/11.
too bad, as you say, it takes destruction in order to rebuild spiritual premises that each person effects another person, that each nation effects another nation, if indeed one operates from we are all One.

we are not much advanced from stone age really as a whole, but you have to see the world as a place to evolve, not a work of acceptance and love quite yet.

who knows maybe if the terrorists mother had cuddled her son more he wouldn't have committed suicide in another country in order to get out of this world by projecting religious sin onto americans trying to do their work in a financial institution.
and maybe she couldn't guide and love her son because the dad was too busy sending him off to military school at a young programmable age?

you can get real bogged down if one's thought keep drifting to what it will be like in the future when we all wake up to our inner powers to be a peace world.

just ask me; I have to lassel my mind into the now all the time. we have to be grounded in what is happening right now, not get upset because the future is not here yet.

another thought: as concerning visions and precogs...people are skeptical of what they haven't seen for themselves...Sometimes people don't want what you got, sometimes you can't give it away...for instance the psychic who knew too much, I mentioned, she got accused of knowing too much about the crime, so right away, they start thinking she must have been involved in the crime.
sometimes you have to be careful with telling too much...you have to dress it up so it's edible to someone.

I have to say Chumley that personally I disagree with one line:

B-dawg wrote on May 19th, 2007 at 8:50pm:
-If the "afterlife paradigm" is true, then by extension, there IS such a thing as magic.

This in turn kinda negates the whole supermen, wizards and mages bit, but if you simplify the question to be 'Why isnt the government,  any government, or indeed corporation spending money on afterlife research'. The answer comes down as always to 2 reasons profit and control. They could spend billions for the next 10 years in research and if at the end of it they could say "Well we have no proven the afterlife does exist", what does it get them? We live in selfish times and unless their is some perception of a return no government or corporation is really willing to spend money on that kind of venture.

As someone else said, that doesnt mean theyre not spending money on the wizards and the supermen, they just dont tell anyone Wink
