Check out the thread God or No God.  Many members ideas are in this thread.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

Thanks for bringing the thread up, it was very entertaining to read. Where or where did Ra go i wonder?

Dude, I agree with what you said in this thread about using a different name for 'god'.

'All Yet One', 'The All That Is' or 'The Oneness' is a more appropriate name to articulate the way I conceive of god.  To think that there is a big daddy god in the sky smiting all the sinners and non-believers. Just comes to show how we really create our own reality and some religious folks have a wild imagination  Shocked or a very gullible.

I'll add this, in Bruce Moen terms, since this is his site.

If we can be aware of and think of everything that exists within our awareness, if a disc/oversoul can be aware of and think of everything that exists with its awareness, if the planning intelligence can be aware of and think of everything that exists within its several universes of existence, then why can't that which is the source of everything be aware of and think of that which exists within its awareness?

Also, it is true that we help with process of creation, but this doesn't mean that the divine source that got the ball rolling doesn't have something to do with the process of creation.

Good question!

Two things come to mind. One is a Zen koan.
"What is the Buddha?"
"The bush in the bottom of the garden."
"And who is he who knows this?"
"He is a golden haired lion."

The other is that after struggling with the same question for umpteen centuries, St Thomas Aquinas finally used the term "The Uncaused Cause".

Kinda puts kinks in the brain thinking about it.

I don't necessarily negate the 'divine source that got the ball rolling'. I believe that we are extensions of that source that is constantly expanding. Therefore we are all the divine source. Separation is an illusion Wink

Do you believe that the source has some sort of plan in mind, or plans didn't come into being until the extensions came into being and it is sort of a big cosmic free for all?

hi there daBears.. here is a phrase found in the bible (I don't read the bible, just find a few things to be noteworthy about it)  lol, always have to make disclaimers so people don't get the wrong idea..

Smiley  when i don't know who, asked the question you just asked the answer that came back purportedly from God was "I am that I am."

so I am thinking what that means. the word "that".   it must mean I am that, I am this and that and everything, god is everything.  I am consciousness..have you heard that phrase "I am.? theres a song that goes like this "I am I said, to no one there, and no one heard not even the chair"  so i would say god is permeation of life force and intelligence of the heart kind.

I always thought that verse in the bible meant that. Sounds pretty much like what God is.
