Disturbing dream
Feb 21st, 2007 at 6:22pm

This one was pretty freaky..last night..

I went down the street to my daughter's friend's house.  The girl was there and a dark haired man that I can't identify, along with her exboyfriend, the meth head.

The man and I kiss passionately.  That wasn't so disturbing, but not knowing who it was..well..

The ex then tried to blackmail me and tell me what to do.  Then he offered me some meth, which I took. I was instantly hooked on it, but was trying to figure out how I could hide that..

It was a pretty short dream, all in all, but disturbing, nonetheless...

Hi Shirley,

I have no comments about your dream, but I had a dream last night that has a similarity with yours. (I had read yours before)

I was sitting in a bus, besides me a schoolfriend, and to the left of me, in a separate seat row, a girl-schoolmate I had fallen in love with, back then in schooltimes. I was somehow in a dissatisfied mood, and thought about to have some pot, although I had promised to myself and this woman I wouldn't do it again. (I used to smoke pot when I was younger). The guy to my right recommended to me to do it (through him I received my first pot experience). So, I decided I would have a smoke, so I pulled out a little tin box where I had a little bubble in it, but tried to hide it so that nobody could notice that I would have a smoke. But when I pulled the tin box out, the pot bubble in it made a little sound, moving in the box, and immediately this woman looked straight in my eyes and at the tinbox, and was dissapointed and cold-angry. Despite this, I think I gave myself a smoke.

I regard dreams of this type as not about drugs but about honesty and self-disclosure. It is possible that there is something which each of you is attempting to hide from yourselves, but your dreams are telling you it is not possible to do that.

I have just recently given up all alcohol, pot, cigarettes and am under the care of my doctor. However, the care involves additional drugs, which are antidepressants and some tranquilizers ...the tranquilizers will be tapered off.

It is about honesty....and also about trust....trust in others and trust in myself....and trust in the universe to know what is best for me.

Anyway, I don't believe any of this is completely about mood enhancers, the use of them or the lack of them. And I have no judgement for anyone who uses them. They are simply coping mechanisms.

What is important is to be ruthless in self-examination and to discover, for yourself, what is your path, at this moment, for your happiness.

Well, I have deviated from the original topic. But, as I have said, I believe these kinds of dreams are about self-disclosure and honesty.

Interesting response Blink.
Quote: "What is important is to be ruthless in self-examination and to discover, for yourself, what is your path, at this moment, for your happiness."
This is a good description of a part of my dream, I was aware of many things, there was the one side said "Do it", the other side "You have promised to not to do it" and the the "center", me in this dream, who is aware of these sides and additionally of the presently bad mood and so decided that in this moment, it is the best to do it. Of course, this me in the dream is not necessarily representing the "that's the way you've got to do it", it's I guess more the situation as a whole which is mirroring something to me (I don't know exactly what it is yet).

Much success ("much fun" would sound sarcastic wouldn't it) for your "free of it" project Blink.

Wow, guys..

For me, it has been many years since I've tried any kind strong stimulant..probably back in the 80's..

Its been on my mind alot since the dream.  I was not what you would  call a heavy user, by any means.  Oh, other drugs..such as pot, yes, as a teen..and then alcohol even into my 20's, but as I entered my 30's, I gave even that up.

The "weird" thing is..yesterday, by the end of the day, I was totally drained...that "crash" that you would have, had you actually used.

Today was more of a "float on the clouds" kind of day..I have a feeling those around me may think I WAS high, lolol..

Yes, lately I have had the need to dig deeper and face a few things about myself which were they revealed, could be embarassing, to say the least.  Then, I think..what if those thoughts ARE revealed?  Afterall, There, is not all transparent?

The mood enhancing aspects of our dreams are interesting too..in many ways.  Perhaps..a mood enhancer of a natural sort is needed?

let me take a run at this Shirley, maybe we can find a message.

first you go to someone else's consciousness house. its not your own house of consciousness exactly, just a remote connection to your belief systems perhaps.

then you kiss a dark haired stranger. so this must mean there is passion ruling over your thought system somewhere which could produce some consequence.

sure enough the meth guy blackmails you, you already know you're guilty of something as you wish to hide it. whoever the meth guy is he's out of your life and the other guy is a stranger and maybe your self is trying to tell you, you cannot respect his opinions and twice in the dream you are doing something irregular, with the kiss and the meth ingestion, so there are influences you are letting yourself drift into; I assume against your better judgement, you may be feeling trapped somewhere, like you're going to get caught and also could be you long for passionate expression in your life.
nothing wrong with that in itself, but still your passion gets you in trouble you seem to be saying. I'd say u are trying to guide yourself here earnestly.

you could try an association game with yourself to see all the thoughts you have thought of the meth guy and track down the reasons for this dream, a clue could pop up unexpectedly..it almost looks like you had a lot of worries about him that went underground. love, alysia

You're good, Alysia!!!!

Passion.....I took passion as my guiding light for a while. It's a wonderful teaching tool...but at a cost.  How to elevate passion toward the sublime?

That is my quest.  Good luck Shirley!!!!
