Hi Lucy. With reference to your post in the Not So Secret Secret thread, I just wanted to share a moment some of the experiences I have had in developing some of the attitude changes mentioned in The Secret, (which I love and continue to watch periodically...have watched it maybe thirty times by now) and of course there are other teachers out there who are also quite effective.

I started my journey with the accidental purchase of a book. My telephone company gave me a good-customer reward of a free book from Amazon, and I went in and chose one of Susan James' books. Susan is an online teacher of abundance. Don't know how long she has been going. Her writing is not perhaps as polished as some, but she gets her point across very well, using symbols to teach with. I took several of her online courses, starting with the basic one, and that basic one was the best I found. From it I developed a clear picture of the home I wanted to live in, in my dreams, made a drawing of it etc, it was an exciting experience to take that first course.

It broke me through from total non-awareness to a kind of powerfulness. I accidentally ended up buying a home without paying attention to the details and after I got in it, I noticed that many of the things I had put in my drawing were here in this home...only tamped down to match my limited expectations for myself.

Like, I had a gorgeous garden in my drawing, a lovely river and little curved bridges over the river, all on my own property behind my imaginary home. Well, my new home had, to my amazement, a wonderful Park bordering on it full of forest and shrubbery of all kinds and the most fabulous river you can imagine, where 8 million year old dinosaur fossils are found every few years, and....yes...over the river? Two little curved bridges. I swear, this is true, you can come and see them. I have since sold this place, still living in it as a rental right now, and it falls far short of my dream home but it definitely has many parts from my drawing.

OK. There were also four cottages on my drawing, behind my lovely home. I used them, in my dreams, for coaching and visiting teachers to hold seminars. Well, on this property, there is a lovely little cottage with its own yard, facing the Park.

My drawing had two kitchens...one for me, a country kitchen, and one for my chef(!!), a terrific gourmet kitchen. This house is a triplex with three kitchens in it of course.

And so on. Many similarities to my drawing from Susan's course...but not my fabulous home and not my fabulous lifestyle. Not quite!! But the elements were manifested to quite an extent.  Proving that I did, in fact, manifest what I imagined, only I don't feel i deserve the real thing yet. Still working on it.

I never cease to be amazed at this place, how it resembles my drawing...yet isn't what I meant...you know!

I created an 8 foot long banner which I have up in my bedroom or office for the last three years. It reads, green printing on white: Rivers of Golden, Effortless Wealth Flow To Me Today! After I got it, I took a stencil and added in: Health and Love under the word Wealth.

Of course I read it many times a day without noticing I am reading it. Also put up many vision boards all over my home.

The other thing was, my husband was elderly, and before he died, I thought I would perhaps get a small pension when he died and would have to return to work to survive.

When he died, to my total astonishment, I received a large pension, enough to not have to go to work again. Totally amazed and did not expect that whatever.  So I did manifest effortless wealth.

The other day, I worked out, via an online financial planning site, how much money I would have to have in the bank in order to draw a monthly pension like this for, say, 40 years. I got the sum: $920,000. Now, I always wanted to have a million dollars in the bank, right? Who doesn't? So now I have a million dollars...only not, again, quite like I MEANT!! I can only get the money a bit at a time, each month. I can't invest it, buy real estate with it, develop it, or anything...it keeps me going and freed from the ratrace. That wasn't what I meant when I said "EFFORTLESS WEALTH", right???

So I got a good start with manifesting abundance with Susan James' courses, but I still have to change how I think and how I expect.

Right now I have bought a home in a run-down mill town which is slowly becoming a retirement town on the ocean. Property there is affordable. I am going to start renovating low cost properties and selling them or renting them, to try to build a more enjoyable Wealth. Only frankly, I don't want a lot of work...Effortless is my goal.

Hope I live long enough to figure all this out. It's so easy to manifest in the Afterlife, with thought and planning, no big loans required, but here it's different. I need to master HERE.

Just wanted to share some of this, to say, you know, it really does work, this stuff. Only you have to persevere with your own demons, that's the problem. Vanayssa
