You'll do it eventually if you keep it in mind. A couple of times out is a start, and you have your Guidance to keep your experiences building until you are skilled enough to try such a big change. You're asking for a more complicated task, like meeting a whole different set of souls, many who possibly no longer incarnate, etc.
Perhaps you can get ready for it by choosing a more specific focus--would you like to see how their floods affect agriculture or architecture, or warfare, or some leading personalities? 
Do you have a good relationship with your Guides yet? Getting used to telling them your concerns and then watching for their answers will also help prepare your way.

Hi Kroan,

I believe you can do it.  The other suggestions are good, and I would add that you should clearly set your intent before sleep each night and expect the experience to happen when you are most accepting to it.  In setting your intention this way, you will take the pressure off yourself and won't suffer performance anxiety.  It will just happen naturally when you are most relaxed physically and mentally.

I've had a couple time travel episodes, personal ones, not historical ones as what you are describing.

Monroe wrote about a time traveling experience, if memory serves me corectly it was in Ultimate Journey.  It was an event that brings the whole concept of time as experienced in physical and nonphysical realities into question, and supplies much food for thought.  It also has much to say about the nature and origin of demons.

Bob related how he had taken a nap on a cot, and found himself OBE in the same room, when suddenly he was attacked by what he perceived as demons.  The demons jumped on his back and were clawing at him and he was terrified.  Try as he might he could not reach around and dislodge these terrible beasts and so he was reduced to screaming for help to whomever might hear him.  He then saw a man come walking down the stairs that led to the room he was in.  The man walked over, lifted the demons off his back, and walked back up the stairs, carrying the demons away with him.

Years later Bob was again OBE when he heard someone screaming for help.  He walked down some nearby stairs and there to his surprise he saw himself in his own "demon experience" that had occurred years earlier.  He saw that the "demons" were actually two of the Monroe family's pet cats.  They were also OBE and had jumped up on Bob's (the past Bob) back to play.  He walked over, lifted the two cats off his previous self's back, and felt amused as turned and carried the cats back up the stairs.

So, in the first experience a "future" Bob had come to the aid of himself, "past Bob.  Certainly gives a little twist to the whole concept of time and time travel, doesn't it?  It's no wonder that through his writing and teaching Monroe encouraged people to explore firsthand the concept that, "I am more than my physical body."  

And as for "demons," they existed in Bob's experience only as a result of his misinterpretation of his own perception.  I'll bet dollars to doughnuts he had a fear of demons and unknowingly projected that fear onto the cats, causing them to appear and act to him as demons.  Do we create our own reality?  For me that is silly question best answered by smacking my own forehead and uttering, " Duh!" 

So, is time travel while OBE possible?  Bob's direct experience would say there can be no doubt.  So, how could you travel to ancient Egypt or Rome?  Perhaps once you are OBE you could just request the assistance of a Helper nearby who could guide you there?  That would be my suggestion.  

And do we need to be OBE to do and experience such time travel?  From my experience I would say, undoubtedly, OBE isn't a necessary condition.  Such time travel can be done wide awake, sitting in a chair, with your eyes closed using Focused Attention.

What happened to Robert certainly does give a little twist to the whole concept of time and time travel!  With the stairs as well - quite a good background metaphor.  'Tis going to be strange to meet myself one day .. or rather should say -in one space!

Interesting the cat being perceived as a demon - I can see how this could happen and any other projection of emotions taking on a form.
