Can this really happen
Jan 21st, 2007 at 6:21am

Hi  One of my friends who i have not seen for a few years now,had a very unhappy marriage with a man who treated her very badly and she also had seven children.

She told me that one day she could not take his cruelty anymore and she decided to make this wax doll and in this doll she put some of his hair and some of his nail clippings.

Next day he told her he was going out into the garden and after he had gone out,she got this doll and stuck these pins in the side of its neck and as she did this he came running in from the garden holding the side of his neck and was saying that he was feeling a lot of pain.

My freind was shocked as she did not think it would work and it really freaked her out so she threw the doll away and never tried it again, anyway she left him after that, took her seven children away with her and is now with this wonderful man,who loves her children and they live in a nice home.

I wonder what your veiws are on this.

Love and God bless    Love Juditha

Ah, the "Law of Contagion" as it relates to the "art"(?) of
witchcraft.
When I was in college, a good friend of mine thought
he was a "witch." Filled me in on the theory of spell
casting, ect. (I took it with a whole BAG of salt, mind
you.)
Wouldn't it be neat though, if it WAS true?
I might be able to get a hand-written autograph of
George W. Bush say, or maybe Karl Rove. I'm sure
there'd be a few microscopic skin flakes on it, or
dead cells or what have you... thus creating the
physical link I'd need.
(That's when I'd get some beeswax and needles, make
a "poppet" or two, and wait for their next big (live) T.V.
speech..!)
Fun to THINK about, anyway!

B-wiz

P.S. If you're a Christian, this sort of thing is a BIG
no-no, Juditha. ("Occult"="Satanic", yadda yadda...)
But I'm sure you knew that already, right?

Hi Juditha,

Curses or voodoo is merely the application of intent in the physical world.  However, what comes around goes around.  If you apply intent correctly, for good or bad, it will likely manifest in your reality.  The wax doll was merely a way for her to cement her intent with reality.  Chum is right, witches and other mystic arts do this all the time.  Even Robert Bruce, the New Age astral explorer warns to be careful of peple taking pictures of you or obtaining objects of your hair or clothing.

I find this works when both sides believe in the equation/magic.  But either way, there is a down side to what your friend did.  By wishing for harm to him, she sent a boomerang of karma out.  Short term gains are usually offset with the boomerang comes back and knocks you on the head.  Luckily, she only did this once, and then moved on.

But Matthew if this really works so well then why aren't we taking hair and nails and putting them in to wax dolls and using the dolls to relieve pain? Surely if you can cause pain then you can relieve it (must be a reversible process). or maybe more people do that and I don't know aboutit.

Hi Lucy,

There are many healers out there, who use intent to heal.  The nails and hair are incidental.  They bind your consciousness to the physical world to strengthen your resolve/belief.  Dave mentioned this before when he recommended that someone write down their intent on paper, put an end in water and drink it, take a part of it and burn it, and a final part and bury it in soil. Then the caster of the "spell" would have grounded their intention in earth, air, fire and water.  This is the basis for much magic/potions/curses and beliefs.

I also think that the act of taking nails and hair from someone secretly and performing a negative act works in an overall way with the ill intent.  A theft of part of the person if you will, followed by a curse.  I don't believe that it works all the time.  Intent must enter our subconscious as a deep seated belief in order to manifest.  Also we all have our own energies, thoughts and protection, so there must be an interaction with the malintent's energies with our own.

However, spiritual healing has been around for eons, and is often based on these same principals.

Hi Lucy, Juditha - I'm with Doc on this one. Anything that can focus your "life forces", which means the intention, the tendency to act in accord with that intention, and the way one handles the physical situation that is part of the whole thing, all taken together lead toward an outcome. The "sympathetic magic" idea comes from the concept that every object shares its existence with every other object, so by taking bits of hair and nails we are more or less "extending" the body of the person in question to our lair where we can work of magical wiles. And, as Doc says, that's a really poor idea.

In clinical work a very simple, but quite similar technique is to ask a person to consider their issues, then to visualize them, to locate them in some part of their body and tell what color they see - this focusses intention and awareness on producing the same kind of embodiment of the problem. Then it's usually easy to call for a White Light or sometimes a Healing Green Light (you learn to speak in capital letters after a while) and to allow the healing light to burn out the problem stuff, and leave a healed area. I use this very frequently with people who have past life injuries - the last one being a guy who fell on his sword after being too late to save his companions from a massacre, just last week. It generally gets rid of the discomfort etc. The last step (since you asked) is to determine whether there's any other reason to have the injury, discomfort, or whatever - and if not, we're done. If so, then we do it all over again.

You have the right idea Lucy, but we don't need the physical parts to make a doll. People generally arrive with all of that stuff ready to be relabeled and repaired.

B-Man -  I think that there's so darned much voodoo going around DC already that any psychic intervention would be superficial - but maybe a little pile of gunpowder and some symbolic drawings and utterances ... or is that how we got into this thing in the first place?  Maybe Washington provides the negative karma in advance.

Hi Matthew Lucy and Dave I am going to stay with my mom on the 1st of febuary as thats when she starts her chemopherapy and im not to sure i think its radiotherapy as well ,as her cancer is confined to her voice box and she has got to have this for a month and i will be staying with her all through this.

So im going to do healing on her throat everyday as well,as i did healing on my daughters back when she was in a lot of pain and the pain went away and it has not returned,as before i did this healing she was suffering most times with this back pain.

I remember my friend was worried what she had done for a long time, she said to me that she realised two wrongs dont make a right.

Thanks all of you for writing your thoughts about this for me. its made me realise now that its not good to send out negativity.

Love and God bless        Love Juditha

In one of his books Bruce Moen shares a story about these people who were being troubled by unfriendly spirits. I don't remember the exact details, but at some point he found that a man who lived in the house was using black magic in order to put curses on people, and this was attracting negative spirits to the house.
