The Old World belief of...
Jan 5th, 2007 at 6:24pm

Hearing knocking sounds or the sound of an object falling to the ground when somone you know has passed on.

This is an old world Polish belief and it might be the same belief in other cultures too.  Is anyone familiar with this?  Has it happened to anyone before?

Thanks!
Katie

My grandmother always talked about that happening to her when someone she knew died. My granfather had just come bcak from visiting his sister at the hospital and she looked at him (Having the knocking happen) she told him "Shes gone". He said "I just saw her your wrong" But it was true.

Thanks for writing in my friends.

This happened to someone I know when my Dad passed away recently.  She heard what sounded like two people wrestling in her son's bedroom and out of reflex she woke up, jumped out of bed, and burst into the room saying, "Are you okay?!"

She lives alone and her son only comes home every now and then to stay with her.  She has a couple of Short Hair Pointers and none of them moved at all.  They didn't hear a sound.

She asked me about what time of the morning my Dad passed and I said between 4 and 5 am.  This is exactly when this strange incident happened.

She feels lucky to have had this experience.  Her husband and my Dad were best friends.  He passed before my Dad did, about 7 years ago, and my Dad was extremely distraught.  He totally broke down at the funeral after everyone left.

Anyway, thanks again for your responses. Wink
