know anything about angelic symbolism?
Dec 25th, 2006 at 11:12pm

I really need help with this. I used to post here a little but something has come up oin my life and I would really like an answer for it.
My 18 year old son was shot a few nights back, don't worry hes ok and healing. No major organs was hit. His ex girlfriend got some other people to shoot at my mothers house while some children were in the home also. One bullet skimmed my neice on the hip and one hit my son, my other son whom lives across the street ran over right away and of course he was frantic and crying really hard and tried to help my 18 year old out the best he could until help came.
After my older son left the hospital that night he looked down at his chest and what seemed to be a tattoo of a trident with a dot above it appeared on his chest. Its fading away now but I took pics of it and have been desperatly searching the net to find angelic symbols because it is my belief that one marked him that evening. It was all such a miracle you wouldn't believe it my own mother said it was like God stepped into that house.
I know that shiva is often dipicted of having a trident but it doesn't look quite the same.
Do any of you know about these things???

Greetings, eggshellseas,

I'm very happy for your son, and you and your family,  that
he has recieved this miraculous protection!
On the web, the website   www.Wikipedia.org ;  has about a dozen ways the trident has been used, in classical myths all the way to modern popular folk tales.
Perhaps if your son would read those possibilities, one might have more energy, to show it as more important than the others to him.
He should be allowed to read it in a quiet time so he can try to feel which description is more important.

Best wishes for his full recovery!
Betson

Thanks for that,I'll tell him. Looking at that statue of shiva the dot on top looks a little more like it, but his prongs were much more straight...interesting.

Hi eggshellseas,
there is a Hebrew letter called "Shin", it's a bit like a trident:
...

this picture is taken from
www.inner.org/hebleter/shin.htm

Hebrew letters originally are consonants, and there are vowel dots above them. In a dictionary I have shin has a dot above the left, another time above the right dent.

Spooky

Greetings eggshellseas,

In a book on Kaballah symbolism, the shin above ('trident' with dots) is listed to have symbollism related to energy, inventiveness, and judgement.
I don't know if that helps so won't try to make it fit your son's situation.

Best wishes, Betson

Thanks for the input, but it really didn't look like that either. It was more straight. I sensed greatly that an angel wanted us to know he was there. It was a miracle the way it all happened with the bullets coming so close to hitting those there. One hit the wall where my mother was standing but it landed into a beam so it didn't come all the way through. I was filled with so much love at the hospital that I wasn't even all that upset. I knew and was told he was going to be alright. Amazing.

Hello friend,

A trident ( called also a khatvanga ) is held by some buddhist deities. It has a rich and powerful symbolism. It's also carried by Shiva in hinduism. I'm out the door right now but if you'd like, I'll give you some real detail later.

Happy new day!

The symbol exists in many cultures, first appearing in clay seals from Mesopatamia.

It's pretty obvious it's a symbol of profound protection in your own personal example.

In Buddhism it represents...

1) the merging of the solar and the lunar channels into the central channel of the subtle body.

2) the destruction of the 'three poisons', with primordial ignorance being transformed into the wisdom-fire of the central prong of the trident.

3) the three points symbolize the three kayas (bodys)... form body, subtle-form body, and formless body.

This is an ancient symbol that belongs to no one culture in particular.

I'd write more, but my new year good luck dinner of black-eyed peas and collard greens is ready. ( a new orleans tradition that my partner has followed since a child, having grown up there...)

my best to you all in this new year of possibility!

Love, Tim F.

Thanks for the info, I've been looking some of this up. I definatly believe there was divine protection, and someone left their symbol. I belive that. Thanks.
