He wouldn't go; now what?
Dec 1st, 2006 at 6:14pm

Greetings,

During an attempted retrieval when a soul doesn't leave, even changing his mind after a Helper begins that stage, what can a retriever do to keep that soul from being traumatized, if that was the case?  Since I know his name should I try to call him back and ask or could that just bring trouble since he seemed upset as he left?

That's basically my question. The specifics are that I felt that light wind-like movement and asked who was there. I don't know why I do that as I don't usually get an answer, so then I ask, Is it a spirit (sense of 'no') ; Is it a godling (no) ; Is it a ghost (yes.) I thought that's interesting that it identifies as a ghost and not a spirit because to me they overlap.

So I asked its name, when it/he had left its body, and if he enjoys his current state of being. In hindsight I should have realized all was not going well.  I did not feel any fear or mean anger from him, but often he would pause or start over in answering, maybe beligerant. He'd moved south to work in landscaping but had died at age 23 in a car crash in 1984.  I thought things were going well since for me it was the longest conversation I'd had with a 'dead stranger.'

When he said there was no one he looked forward to meeting in the afterlife I asked aside for a Helper, and suggested to him there were friends there who cared about him, maybe people he'd remember once he saw them. Then I felt the energy change of a Helper arriving, and a momnet or so later thought I felt them rise, but then there was abit of a flurry, then nothing.  I guess I should have asked the Helper, but they don't usually speak to me during retrievals.
What should I do now?

Thank you,
Betson

Hi Betson,

You can visit him from time to time so when he's conscious enough he would grow a familiar feeling with you and then see if you can make him convince to just have a look at different places. When he again states there is no one to visit, tell him of helpers, of his cosmic family (or another term that you feel he likes) or grandparents or so.

I remember I once came to a guy somewhere who was the only one remaining in that place in the countryside, the others had moved on, but he liked it there so much, the landscape and the garden he had there, that he didn't want to leave. I suggested we do a short trip to the place where the others had gone to, which we did. We came back to his place and I left. As far as I remember, this guy sent me a sort of signal (received in relaxation/meditation) to visit him again, and I found him moved on to where the others had gone to, too. He thanked me for making him aware of this new place, after some pondering he had decided to move on too like the others did before.

Spooky

Thanks spooky,
I'll try that, calling to him occasionally/mentally, to let him know I'd like to talk again. We'll see then if ghosts have curiosity, that active ingredient of intelligence.
Also, earlier on another thread you said, rhetorically I think:
"That there are groups of those earthy-spirits
means they also can help each other? "
I thought maybe when and if there are several earthy-spirits in a group that perhaps one would like to watch what happens and go tell others that they could do this too. But so far I've had just one opportunity to ask that, and instead of one staying, they decided to all go. My approach to sending them has been to make it seem like a sort of adventure, a nice change to their routine. So then to turn around and say 'but why not one of you stay' sounds sort of like a downer. So 'serial retrievals' with any time lapses in between have not happened yet for me.
(And the road got fixed so I no longer drive by the cemetery to 'meet' several at once, though I could go by anytime I felt prepared for it.)
Can anyone think of a smoother way to get some to stay in training or as witnesses, so we could get this serial-retrieval possibility going?

Thank you,
Betson

I get the feeling Bets you're not sure he was retrieved. Bruce said recall the whole scene to mind again if you're not sure and you will be taken thru each detail and you'll see something you missed. perhaps the image of the helper taking him off.
this is normal what you are feeling. I think he was retrieved. but sometimes we do have to sit and think what we missed seeing. love, alysia
