Lucid Dreams
Nov 21st, 2006 at 5:49pm

Cheesy

I am currently doing research on lucid dreams. My hope is that when I learn how to harness them I will be able to talk to my spirit guides.

Not really into the have sex with everyone you ever dreamed of part  Wink

I was wondering does anyone here have any experience with lucid dreaming?
and if so I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject.

I am also currently doing exercises to increase my IQ for school purposes.
I have gone from 133 to 142 in about 3 weeks.

Hi Ra.

You can program yourself to have a dream of a spirit guide, that would work too.  It's just like programming yourself to have a lucid dream.   What techniques are you using to practice lucid dreaming?  Not interested in having sex in a lucid dream?  Why not?  It's one of the first things I tried when I began lucid dreaming.  What exercises are you doing to increase your IQ?

Its hard to relay experiences though..or even to figure out how I got there, ya know?

Hi Shirley,

Hey, I'm just normal!   Smiley

When I trained myself to lucid dream it was so I could learn to have out-of-body experiences.  Once I started lucid dreaming it was fun so I made a list of the things I wanted to do in them.  Sorry, can't give any details on that sexual one, but it was good.   Wink

Hmm, now you got me interested in finding that list.  I'll have to go search my old notes.

Can you recomend any websites or books that you used to train yourself? anything you can suggest would be appreciated.

When I was a kid I used to 'dream' I was flying, at the time it was so incredibly real, not quite a lucid dream though because I understand lucidity means you know your dreaming and have control, I suppose it could have been an OBE except I don't think so. I still remember how amazing the feeling was though, I just can't seem to do it anymore Sad

At the time I first learned about lucid dreaming, I was reading "Leaving The Body by D. Scott Rogo.  The method that worked for me was simple, which suggested you remain conscious as long as possible while you get closer to the point of falling asleep, then give yourself the suggestion that you will observe your dreams with conscious awareness.  I stated my suggestion as "tonight I will dream with conscious awareness".  I think that technique works because the suggestion is given during the hypnogogic state of sleep.

I also know that you can program your mind through mere desire to have lucid dreams and also by expecting to have them, if you think about it throughout your day.  Think about it during the day, look forward to it, expecting that it will happen that night.  During the day think to yourself, "what if I'm dreaming right now?  How would I feel?  What would I do?"  That way, you are training your mind for the expectation.  It does work with practice and you will find yourself asking these questions during a dream.  The trickiest part is to be able to recall your dreams.  If you are a person who can easily awaken and remember several dreams or have great dream recall, then you should easily be able to induce lucid dreams.

I also read "Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge which was very helpful and interesting.

My main purpose in using lucid dreams is to make full use of the time I have on earth.
We spend eight hours or more of the day sleeping; so if I can use the time sleeping to do something constructive why not??

When I said I wasn't going to focus on the the sexual part like Freaky Vicky  Wink
I meant that I wasn't going to make it a big part of my plan  Wink Although it would be nice  Shocked

I am trying to raise my IQ to 160 for school and career, and I know the exercises I do while awake i can do while asleep in Lucid Dreams.

The potential of Lucid Dreams is amazing.

Greetings Ra and Girl Gang,  Smiley

Congratulations Ra on your mental development! I've got some of those numbers in my IQ too  Wink but the combination's different.  Cry

Talking to your spirit guide while awake is another way to dissolve the barriers between later consciousness levels. Just address it and ask something. The process seems 'imaginary' but it opens doors. Then if the answer comes while you're sleeping you'll know that you're part way there, or your guide is anyway.

I got into lucid dreaming by being overly critical, it appears in hindsight, so I don't wish that method on you. Have you ever said to yourself, in the midst of a dream, "Oh no, not that old theme again!" or " I see where this is going; can't we get some new material?" Then I read LaBerge and found out I could do more than complain. Retrievals are another way of knowing you are inter-acting with another level and are also a productive use of time.  Wink

Hi Ra   Grin

What is your technique for studying in your lucid dreams?  I find it too difficult to read and can't hold onto my conscious awareness.  But I'm not that proficient in lucid dreaming in any regard...have always had to try and cross something off my list right off the bat before waking up or it turning back into a regular dream and I forget I was ever lucid.

Well seeing as how I am only Researching Lucid Dreams I Don't think I'll be much of a help  Undecided

But I will say this.

At the higher levels of control and management You are able to do anything in the dream that you would do in real life!!!

This includes reading, studying and much much more!!!

The main reason I want to master lucid dreaming is because I want to Study, practice and research in my dreams.

You waste 9 hours of your day sleeping(not really a waste but you know what i mean) so by turning those 9 hours into constructive progression your already ahead of 99% of the population.

Point Blank Vicky PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!!

P.S I know I wasn't much help  Cry

Actually I believe we already are doing the things we need to be doing while our bodies are sleeping.  We just don't remember all these outings.  I'm thinking in terms of a studying on a spiritual level, you are thinking in terms of studying from your physical consciousness level.  That's asking a lot of yourself, but if you can pull it off, that's a great feat.  That's a lot of mastery to accomplish for your goal.  You know, I bet you could accomplish the same goal just by meditating during waking consciousness.  Use your imagination, set intent of what you desire, and then imagine yourself accomplishing that goal.  Then release that energy out into the universe and allow yourself to receive your intention.  Then, do your reading and studies, pass your tests, and you should see the improvement.  Because really, you're not saying you want to read and study during lucid dreaming in lieu of reading and studying while awake, are you?
