Religion

Recently I have been troubled with some rather disturbing thoughts; everytime i open a newspaper a magazine or any sort of journalistic papers I see more horrors being carried out, in the name of religion Cry

This hurts me deeply Cry

Why do these people believe that by killing people they are somehow pleasing their version of a god????

Why do these people believe that they are somehow superior to other people (IN THEIR SPECIES) because they worship god.

I'm sick of the close mindedness most of these people display  Cry

I ask a question any time I have a debate about religion, debates I try so hard to avoid, but feel I have no choice to enter because I am attacked as soon as anyone discovers what my views are.

The question= Do you believe in the existence of aliens??

This is just me trying to see how logical they are. In my opinion the knowledge that we are not alone should come to anyone with any type of common sense no proof is required (opinion)

In this Infinite Universe how can you even think that we are the only ones here.
I take the no answer to be proof of an amazing level of ignorance and close mindedness.

And the reason most of them say no is because THEIR HOLY BOOK DIDN'T MENTION IT!!!!!

Getting to the point.

I don't think that religion should exist.
I don't think that children should be assaulted with these fairy tales as soon as they are able to comprehend language.

It is just breaking my heart to turn on the news and hear another story about suicide bombers killing women and children in the name of allah!!!

It is killing me to know that Israel and Palestine have been engaged in a war for countless years over religious belief!!!

The Christians and Catholics are playing like angels; Does anyone remember the Crusades????

They scare people into believing in an end of days where the only way you will be saved is to devout your life to god.

Maybe I'm ranting in fact I know I am. Because the day the world wakes up and realizes, man we were pretty dumb back then, I'll be in the afterlife afraid to come back!!!!
Cry

I'm so scared for this world, but I fear Cry Undecided Cry Undecided there is nothing I can do.

Spiritualism is the acceptance of empirically elicited evidence that the human consciousness survives physical death and that those who survive can communicate with those who are physically on earth in a number of ways.

I'm having conflictions with my spiritual belief regarding this.

How can the higher spirits on the other side just sit back and watch as we destroy ourselves??

They are not doing that….. Wink

We are here to take decisions about the problems we face. We need to choose the way we want to solve them. It got to be thru. But we need to feel the result of our choices otherwise live here is meaning less. Embarrassed

The place where we were born in, the family we belong to, and several other things are not an accident. We came here to face a given group of challenges in order to get rid of something that acts like an anchor to our spiritual development. And it happens to groups (a family a country a planet). There are people up there looking after us but they can’t play for us.

A father can’t take a test in the school on behalf f his son.

Nicely put, Kardec-

Regression work tends to give the impression that very new souls are still impressed by the finality and absolute nature of power, physical limitations, and the obvious stupidity of making wars in order to create peace, while overlooking the needs and feeliongs tht underly the entire human experience. So the young souls begin by getting work as Kings, tyrants, rules and powerful warriors. Then they make wars to "set it all straight", and far more often than not, they wind up with more problems than they had at first. (I'll avoid giving examples.)

Later on, after a certain amnounbt of common sense sinks in, they look for work in which they can be major builders, arrangers, planners and the movers and shakers of society, so they can impose rules that are supposed to make things work. And often the impose terrible punishments, because they feel that these are people who "need to be saved from their human frailties". Thjis is less disturbing, but it rarely ends well, and never seems to solve anything.

The next stge is to loosen up a little bit more and look at the level at which problems arise, first on the Big Scale and then the issues that everyday folks have. And eventually we have a very few who become dedicated to service and wind up in spectacular missions of mercy. The rest tend to keep on working with personal issues until they are reborn as "just plain folks".  Bruce Moen is an engineer - nort an earth shaking profession, but auseful way to contribute. Edgar Cayce was a photographer, and more or less was "drafted" into service as a pro[phetic healer. Nisargadatta Maharaj was a businessman who owned a small market selling bidis (Indian cigarettes) and related items.

Meanwhile, along the way, we all try to generate rules of behavior for ourselves and others to follow. We occasionally mess up, but it's easy to force others to follow our rules anyhow. So now we have "religion". The actual centers of religious belief are rarely the ones who create the religious organization. Jesus' works were carrier forward by disciples, St Paul and others, Mohammed's works were elaborated by Ali and others, and often the core message (in these two cases, it was simply monotheism - that there exists only one god) gets overwritten by all the other freight that others are carrying and off they go, creating a new church.

The new church attracts young souls who feel that if they impose religious principles with sufficient severity they can force people to be good - and off we go again into a new cycle. Juditha's teachers are right on target calling this "almost the lowest state of existence in the spiritual universe".

If you will forgive a personal opinion, my suggestion to cure your problem with organized religions is to "go there and do it for yourself".  Bruce's soul retrievals are an excellent path into universal service, and universal service looks like a pretty good path to a higher level of existence.
