Hi Quinn,
if it is an image you have in mind which sticks with you, "knowing he is wandering around in this darkness not knowing what has happened", I suggest you think of this image, and think yourself into it, imagine you give your father company, walk with him, talk with him. It's not important to tell him "where" he is exactly, but that he is with you, then show him you care, your love and that it's all good. You then can imagine to move with him to a lovely place.
If you feel the urge to do something, try it. There is this theory that this kind of imagination is a far stronger way to communicate with those passed over than just with words. It's maybe, in this kind of imaginations, not everything one to one objectively true, but it's a way to transport feelings, to accompany someone.
