Yes Betson, I think so. Maybe you try to move your eyes left and right without a flashlight first. I found it has an effect, weak, but it's there. I get de-focused then, meaning when I have something which lays heavy on my mind it's easier to forget about it, and that's probably the effect they use in trauma therapy, that the patients are not affected such strongly again when they tell about their experiences/memories. There are some things to think about. As I see it, this is a method to induce a light trance. It is recommended when doing this to have a sort of guidance like a recording, to keep you somewhere, and if it's only the advice to be relaxed, to feel secure and everything's allright. I also guess that not you yourself should move the light, because it would be a closed circle of self action-reaction, while when something other or a machine would move the light it would be a total passive following which has more the character of a seduction into a trance (=a slightly detuned state to usual physical reality, open to friendly suggestions).
