Just Questions?
Aug 24th, 2006 at 12:03am

Hello Everyone,
My name is Jonathan and i stumbled onto this website, because i just been having loads of questions about death. I'm 23 and i just can't stop thinking about it. I use to be very depressed throughout high school and college. I am much better because of the love of my friends and family. Today, however i just broke down in tears. I started thinking about what happens when you die and it scares me to death. I'm not the religious type at all. I will not lie and question god from time to time. I just don't understand why some people have to suffer more while others don't. I'm going to church on Sunday, just to ask for some guidance and questions with my friends. The real reason i posted this is, i m just scared. i sit down and think about whether there is an afterlife or nothing. I'm sure many of you guys probably dat down and thought about this sometime in your life. Can you please just give me some advice? The idea of not being able to see my parents or my little cousin again hurts me. I'm not complaining to be the best person in the world and i m sure i have commited many "sins" in my life. I m just so confused and scared and I don't want to live my life like this if this rambling is making any sense. Thank you to anyone who just takes the time out to read this. I really appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

It's always nice to see new people join here because I get the chance to be encouraging which we all need once in a while!  I think you are right, many of us, if not all, were in your shoes at some point.  You sound like all your questions and wonderings come from your heart.  I'm sure you won't have trouble finding some answers.  I always suggest to the "newbies" here to definitely read around this website.  There is a lot of information and I'm sure there has got to be something that will resonate with you and will get you moving in the right direction.  There are great links at the top, the FAQ and such, and there are several forums.  Even click through the older pages on the main forum to read up on what others have asked and shared.  Another trick I can give you...if you see another member who says something you like, click on their name, go to their profile, and you can pull up other posts they've written.  It's a quick way to get a lesson from someone who you feel you resonate with.

Bruce writes about his experiences in the Afterlife, and he teaches people how they can do it themselves.  How does that strike you?  When I bought Bruce's first book many years ago I thought he was nuts!  I didn't even read the whole book.  But I wasn't ready for it then.  Later when I was, I was so happy I still had his book sitting on my shelf, and when I finally read it then I wanted to slap myself in the forehead and say "why didn't I read this way back then?  This is what I needed and I had it all along but just didn't know it".  So of course, I recommend his books too, definitely.

Have fun!

Love, Vicky

Dear Jonathon;

I think it is very wonderful that you have started to question the meaning of your existance. Congratulations on embarking on the first stepping stones towards your path to spiritual enlightment. I believe EVERYONE has had the very same questions that you are having now  at one point or another; however , many people are not brave enough to explore these topics any further. They live blindly. They except un-questionably. They give up their individuality. They conform and they follow the majority......Something tells me that there is a restlessness in your soul........you want awnsers.........I wont give them to you...but the very fact that you have started exploring this subject and have stumbled across this website shows me that you are off to a good start.

I reccommend surfing the net and exploring more of these websites. I really like the following websites:

www.after-death.com

or

www.victorzammit.com

you can also read many interesting books on this subject. I have noticed that bookstores have started to devote entire sections to this subject, so it must be popular.....

here are some good books:

"Hello From Heaven" by Bill & Judy Guggenheim

"Seven Steps to Heaven" by Joyce Keller,

"One Last Time"  by John Edward ,

"Reaching for Heaven"  by James Van Praagh,

AND LAST WORDS OF WISDOM:

~ We are not Humans having a Spiritual Experience...
We are Spirits having a Human Experience~

Hi Jonathan,

First I would advise not letting yourself get caught up in the negative "what ifs," and fears.  Try to explore with some of the references you will find on this site.  There are no quick immediate answers - a spiritual quest is a lifetime endeavor but you can get confirmations and signs along the way.

The way you feel about loved ones, friends and family  - this is the positive that you should not lose track of.  People get so caught up in visions of the afterlife that they forget what is important while alive; love, family, kindness.  I know that sounds like a church sermon - sorry.

But it is important.  Explore; take your time.  Learn, read, meditate all with a positive quest or journey.  But in the meantime, don't let it distance you from the real/physical world and the wonderful opportunities we have in being alive.  The most enlightened souls I have met manage to merge their spiritualism with the here and now.

Best Wishes,

Matthew

Hello Jonathon,
Your letter was written by a soul with a kind and thoughtful nature. Such a soul has nothing to worry about in the afterlife.  Smiley
But it's the mind that is questionning, so now seems a good time to feed the mind. Most of us here have read Bruce's way of explaining the afterlife, and we've stayed on to help explain to others.
Please read more here and ask more questions here. They are not 'just questions,' they are steps toward a wonderful afterlife. We are happy to share with you.

Hi everybody! My name is Marcela and I found this web site because I was looking information about life after death. Sometimes(most of the times) it is hard for me to find people that want to discuss issues like this, they think you are maybe weird or something like that. The fact is, I found myself again wondering about what is the meaning of my existence, why are we here and other questions about after life. I have read some of the explanations given by Bruce Moen and I think it is the best explanation so far someone was able to come out with. It gives me hope  and I feel a little bit les afraid of death. I have to work on this feeling of fear because I know it is not healthy for the soul. I will love to get an out of body experience;I have tried before but with not luck. Maybe because it is hard for me to concentrate, as soon as I get relaxed the feeling of fear makes its apperance and I can not relax anymore. What is my fear when I am relaxing? An entity, ghost, spirit or something like that is going to appear and I will panic in horror ( I used to watch horror movies sometimes, maybe that affected me) Anyways, I am so happy to have found this website and if someone have a tip for relaxation different of the ones always posted in other websites, please tell me and I will practice. I need that kind of peace in my life to be able to help others too in  the way you are doing it. Thank you, and God bless you! Wink

welcome Marcela and Jonathan. this is the right place to gain more awareness and lose some fears about where we came from and where we will go. don't worry about losing contact with your loved ones Jonathan after death as that would be quite impossible to be separated from what you love and what loves you. and Marcela, I think you will advance without fear when you find out we dont really die and we are the same person here as we will be there. its a lot of fun when you start getting confirmation of the afterlife. I can't wait for u to start telling us when you do! hugs, alysia

Alysia, thank you very much for your welcome. I would love to get confirmation of the afterlife, then I would not be afraid anymore about this issue, and I could help others too. I am ready to purchase one of Bruce books, what do you recomend? Remember I am a beginner. Thank you again.Love and Gratitude! Wink

yes agreed, the guidebook has so much in it. but still I'm partial to the first four books for the flavor of them and just pure enjoyment. anybody know what the first book was called? I forgot. my favorite is "Beyond all Doubt." or maybe it was "Journey Beyond all Doubt."  Marcela if you deside to go with the original first 4, its best my pov, go with the first book written Bruce wrote and if u like it, get them in sequence. good to have you join us!

I think you're mixing Moen and Monroe titles there Alysia!  I forget the titles too, here they are:

1.  Voyages Into The Unknown.
2.  Voyage Beyond Doubt.
3.  Voyages Into The Afterlife.
4.  Voyage to Curiosity's Father.

Did Monroe write about or use the word "Afterlife"?  When I first got Bruce's first book several years ago I thought it was uncommon to use that word as I'd never really heard anyone use it.  I never really thought about what it meant until the last couple years after studying Bruce's work.

lets see now..jogging my short memory Vicki! Undecided  Monroe has
1) Far Journeys
2) Ultimate Journeys
3) ???

yes, the afterlife seemed an old fashioned word I never could get used to using it, although my guide uses it all the time and is quite comfortable with it. later after reading some other material I thought before life was a good phrase in conjunction with Afterlife as they're the same place, but realized the majority of people wouldn't relate well to before life so I decided Afterlife was the perfect word after all. Cheesy

thanks Vicki for listing them for Marcela and anyone else. and the 5th book is the Guidebook Marcela which has a lot of the first 4 books info and a lot more hands on instructions for learning to explore you own self, so its very important also.
hugs, alysia

Monroe's are:

1.  Journeys Out Of The Body.
2.  Far Journeys.
3.  Ultimate Journey.

I've only read the 1st one, have the 2nd though.  I've been too busy writing to read right now, which I am proud to say.  I used to read about 5 books a month, but my writing still needs a lot of work so I'm just happy to be in the flow of it right now.

Yes Alysia, "before life" is important too.  Same thing, I know, but I remember asking mom when I was very little, I think 6, where I was before I was born.  She said I was in her tummy.  I told her, no before that.  She said she didn't know...she said, "I guess nowhere".  I couldn't believe that my mom had no clue about "before life".  I thought grownups were supposed to know everything!  That was a very defining moment for me...being as stubborn as I am...I made up my mind at that point to spend the rest of my life finding out the answers to all my questions on my own.  Ha...I love being stubborn.

hi Jonathon and Marcela
Just remember You are not alone, as many people are confused and scared.
my husband was depressed and suicidal and I have lived thorugh his recovery for the past 5 years and you need to understand that there is so much more for you than you can possibly guess.
i am sure by now that just looking around this site, you know you are with people who understand how you feel, just look at the love in the answers you have received from this post.

this poem ( I can't remember who wrote it ) is a lot of what I feel about losing a loved one and to me, describes how      easy it is to be in contact with them.
Death is just an open door

Death is just an open door
I have only slipped away
Into the next room.

I am I, You are You.
Whatever we were to each other,
That we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way
Which you always used.

Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.

Let my name be ever the household word
That it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect,
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere near,
Safe and Secure,

All is well.

Hope you love this as much as I do
with much love
Cathy B
