I`m very pleased for you, as I know how you feel.

I too have lost my wife and she came to me in a dream where we sat chatting for a while. However, after some time, although I never query any situation or what is happening in a dream, no matter how bizarre it seemed once I had woken up, this time I said to my wife "This cannot be happening - you cannot be here as you died some time ago", and I woke up. I wish I hadn`t said that to her in my dream as I am a fervent believer in the Afterlife.
Also, only last week my mother, who passed over seven years ago, came to me in a dream. She appeared to be in her thirties and was really beautiful. Much younger than I am now, which I didn`t query. We chatted for a while and she said she missed her husband (who passed over ten years ago) and was near to tears. I had to divert her attention away from him.
This led me to thinking that over "There" we can do our own thing and are not necessarily always with our loved ones. My mum and dad were very close indeed in their physical life.
My partner was once told this by a medium about her parents - that they weren`t together in the Afterlife, but do see each other at times.

I think Roger is onto something interesting about we can do our own thing on the other side and married folks can be unmarried on the other side but still see each other just like things are here what with divorces. I think folks have the wrong ideals about relationships being different on the other side than they are here. true, lasting bonds and love appear to be needing cultivation the same on both sides of the veil.

but let me share my little story of what love does on the other side according to my perceptions of my mother and her first love. she divorced her first husband but got back with him for a few years before he died. mother was definetely phychic as I am too, and everybody has phychic in them somewhere my opinion. its just like having greater awareness to subtle energies beyond the veil.  before mom transitioned she was in touch with the other side through her own mother and her first husband.
I already told in this thread I had seen her in her 25 yr old body out there talking to me. I had to go find the picture of her to make certain it was her as the body she had now was aged and worn out and overweight. mom did some hard living in it. she worked like a man. sometimes I thought she was a man!
anyhoo, she's taken her younger form and she's gorgeous...we should all be so lucky and we are!  so my story is, Jim, her first love there at the end of her life started popping into her dreams, saying he was ready to take her for a ride into the afterlife when she decided to come, he would be with her. he appeared with his favorite jalopy, he liked these old cars, a convertible, which he'd always wanted to have, but didn't get on this side. he was happy and always whisled tunes and he knew mom loved him and missed going fishing with him.
mother was greatly encouraged to find herself loved and that he would come to her this way as death is so often a very scarey situation for most of us. just knowing she had someone waiting for her made her very happy.
so they will have their time together I can deduct from logic here, but I don't think they will be together forever, that at some point they will each go off into separate journies as I think they learned to love each other in this life which was like a karmic burnoff or stand off at the ok corral. sounds like a normal love affair to me.

I like how happy she was when he visited her. its not just in our minds. its in our hearts, these visitations. love, alysia
