I've been to many giras over the last 20 years (several friends of mine are mediums) I've felt the energy and talked with the spirits, recieved and given healings. I find the brazilian way of spiritism remarkable. I completely respect it. It's in line with my own practices. There is a slight difference in how I interact with spirits but very much the same otherwise. A friend gave a video of his circle's Umbanda healing ceremonies to some Tibetan Lamas and they said "How did you discover our secret Medicine Buddha rituals?" They were amazed at what was in common with their own practices.
