Recently lost my beloved husband
Jun 22nd, 2006 at 7:17pm

Hi,

This is my first time to this site and I am looking for help.  I lost the love of my life almost 7 weeks ago to cancer.  We have been together almost 20 years and I am so lost with out him.  He was only 44.

Since his death, I have been praying for a sign that he is OK, happy and that he is with me, watching over me.  He said he would be before he passed on, but I have not gotten any signs and I get more desperate each day.  I had one dream in which we got separated and I was never able to find him again...not a good dream.  I had another where I called him, but did not see him.  I think he said Hello...but I can't be sure.  I really need a sign...if I get one, I think I would feel better.  I worry that I won't get one and if I don't I am not sure how I will be able to deal with all this pain.

I have always believed there was life after death, but since my husband has passed on I have begun to doubt it.  What if I never see him again????

Has anyone gotten a sign from a loved one who has passed on???  How can I be more receptive to a sign?  Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks
keywest

Dear Keywest,

I am very sorry for the loss you are going through and the grief you're feeling.  Many of us here have gone through this same process.

Statistics show that nearly half of the people that have lost a loved one have been contacted by them.  Perhaps your worry about this is keeping you from being aware that your husband is trying to contact you.  Most reported contacts happen when the person least expect it, yet at the same time, there is no doubt in their mind that a contact was made.

I can't prove it to you, but there is no doubt in my mind that our loved ones are never far from us.  They also have a message of love and wisdom for us after they transition.  We only need be open to it.

Love and many blessings to you.

Kathy

"How can I be more receptive to a sign?"

Well.. I have not developed my skill enough yet to discern signs like that, but most on this website would say using Hemi-Sync, I believe. That can be quite expensive though (unless you download the recordings..) Perhaps you could try a "gifted medium" (like a psychic, I guess?) I am not the best person to give advice, like I said, but I can feel the emotion in your message, so I want to try and help..

Well, I hope some others have advice on this forum for you.

love, sven.

Hi Keywest,

That's a sad situation you'r in. I whish you Love, strength and wisdom to deal with it. I'm not able to give you advice, but I can tell my own experiences, just may be you find something of use for you.

My brother, Oliver, died 7 years ago while we where on Holiday. He was 23 years old and we shared a lot of hobbies. He passed totally unexpected due to ruptured atrery in one of the heart valves. He had an undetected anuerism there and we only found out when he was already gone.
The complete emotional chaos after he died, inside my head and in our family is hard to describe. Luckily I trained myself to remember dreams, and a few days after he died I got a dream. I was at work and he stood there watching me. We talked and he said that he was going home. He explained that he would take my car and drive to the other side of the mountain. He would wait for me there, I was not finished yet, but if I was, I would meet him on the other side of the mountain.
That dream stopped any sadeness I had. Just a few days later I received another dream; I was confused looking for a way out in a very complicated system of waterways and walls with all dark and muddy water. Oliver appeared with a snorkel and flippers on and told me to follow him. He knew the way out and would guide me. In a few seconds I ended in a park-like place, with trees and green grass, and a nice lake of calm water. Then he left me again.

These dreams tought me not to freak out, but relax and veel happy. Even though he was not on earth anymore. Since, whenever I feel to contact him, I think of him and talk to him. The pleasant shivers and gosebumps make me notice that he is then with me.

I found that it is important not to be very sad or desperate. How hard it is to veel yourself fine after a loved one died, it is important when contacting. May be a medium can take away your first fears and make you feel calm again.
And also, learn to recougnise the signs. Those are mostly in your dreams or feelings. Normally books don't fall out off the cupboard, candles don't light out of themselves and music doesn't start to play out of nothing.
Signs would be like the dream you had about him on the phone.

How sad it is, a person who dies isn't here anymore (normally) and it's very difficult for him to give you signs when you are on earth, certainly if those signs you long for are a physical change of things. He will be able to contact you when you are sleeping, when your spirit is on his frequency level. So learn yourself to remember your dreams is the best advice I can give you.

It can take a time before you get any sign though. After passing spirits do need time to adjust. You could try and think of someone you know who died earlier. I think the best way to do so is described in the "free articles" tab on the top of this page. Via that person you could ask your husband to join.
It is however hard to accept that as "contact", since it doesn't involve any complicated meditation methods, any skills, just your own emagination. From my experiences, I know that it works. It's the way I have contact with my brother! (I feel the shivers when I think about talking to him and I "feel" his presense).
It's also important to say that I'm also on this board since 2 days and just since 2 days know about the methods described here. I can therefore underwrite the methods as working because I'm using those for 7 years now. (slightly different, but the idea is the same)
Contact won't be the same as on earth, you won't see or talk with him like you where used to when he was alive. That is a harsh message, I know, but he's in another world and the only links to that world are through your spirit.

It's not complicated, don't search in difficult directions. Just your emagination will help to contact him. The answer he gives on your questions are not in spoken language, but show up as a feeling. When I ask my brother he's okay, a comfortable feeling is in me before I finished my question. I don't hear him say "Well, yes, but the milk is quite expensive here"..

If you feel desperate or sad, emagine him before you fall asleep; big chances are you wont even recoughnise the change between your "fantasy" and your dream.. You probably wake up and think "I didn't even slept, where is he?? Why is there no contact?" But in same time you already had contact without even knowing.

It's all about knowing where to look for, and if you found it, you can't emagine that you've been searching for it soo long. It's actually too easy to accept.

Hope you'll recougnise it soon.

Love Daan.

Greetings, keywest,
My sympathy and best wishes are with you also. He was quite young.
As soon as you can calm your mourning, you may be able to get more and clearer contact with him. It is the negative 'vibes' that enclose us and make 'transmission' more difficult.

I've had phone contacts too! Having a line to a loved one is such a true analogy for what is happening. Perhaps if you have some questions ready for him when he calls again, you can extend the conversations. He has been going through alot of changes and may need some prompting to realize what is interesting to one left behind, such as where he is, if he likes his surroundings, etc. (If he says he's still in the hospital or if any aspect of his surroundings sounds negative, let us know and we will see if we can find him and help him.)

Hi Keywest and welcome to the board. I'm very sorry for your loss. Everyone has given you positive replies so I won't add much more except to say that my heart is with you in your grief. Know that it will eventually pass and that you will eventually see him again and he will contact you in the dream state.

With Love,
Mairlyn

Hi Keywest

My heart goes out to you. I lost my soul mate 5 weeks ago, so I understand your pain. Mine was a shock, he died of a sudden heart attack. He was 53. My best friend, my companion, my everything.

When you go to bed at night, speak out loud to your beloved, that you want him to come to you in your dreams and for him to tell you that he is okay and that he loves you etc. I did this 3 times after my beloved passed, and each time he came to me in my dreams.

Perhaps you could consider consulting a medium who is experienced in contacting ones who have crossed over. I did this. Before my beloved passed away I did not believe their was any existance after death. But when he died I could not make sense of anything. I contacted a mediuim who gave me hope that he was okay. Through various coincidences I ended up on this website hungry for answers.

Please surround yourself with people that love you. It is a difficult time. You are never alone. I am here with you too.

I lost my husband Mar 27th of this year.  He had just turned 53 on Jan 14th.  I too want an In Your Face ADC, so I can know that my husband is ok.  I have smelled cigarette smoke in the living room and I know it wasn't my imagination because both the dogs came over to where I was an started sniffing the air.  Mind you, Rick NEVER smoked in living room..no one does.  No one had been int he house that smoked at all.  I keep praying for a deam 'visit'.  I hope I will have one soon.  I did have one dream where I was listening to a tape (EVP) and on the tape is was my husband's voice saying 'I Love You'. When I tried to replay the message in my dream, I couldn't find the message again.  It was just people talking.  I don't usually remember dreams, but this seemed so real. I have to believe it was from him because I had been reading about EVP.

I love and miss his so much.  I just want to know for sure he is ok, healthy, and that he loves me and will be waiting for me.

Please look up my experience of an apparition of my husband approximately 20 years after
his death.  I know this experience was real.  Plus, recently I sought validation from a famous
NDE person.  He was able to describe my husband's unusual personality, his double last
name, and where my husband was seated when I saw his apparition.

I think your husband may be even now recovering from his illness in a place of care.  Just
keep sending thoughts of PUL to him.  He will have a busy experience ahead of him in
learning about the afterlife.   Give everything a chance, and there's a chance that love
will find a way.

This is a time when perhaps you may wish to consider how to fulfill your life's purpose in
the best way available.

All the best!   Just think how truly wonderful it is that you have known the joy of real love.

Hi KeyWest, these websites will help:

www.jonasridgeway.com/
www.spiritual.com.au/articles/astral/astralp2_rbruce.htm#9
http://home.iprimus.com.au/terencem/thisisabbisquestionpage.htm

Personally? I believe your husband first of all projected into the astral dimension - like I always do when I astral project by accident in the mornings. I've been to the Astral plane many times, seen it for myself, so I know it exists.

What is your husband doing right now? I believe he's talking (literally), to friends and loved ones who crossed over before him. This doesn't mean he's in your house trying to talk to you - on the contrary, he could be flying above New York City right now with friends, or walking around outside (literally).

I get the feeling he comes to you in dreams, but most often dreams of dead relatives are ways of dealing with the loss. When your loved ones contact you through dreams, you know it: the details are logical, incredibly vivid and unforgettable.

Remember, it's just a mere frequency/vibration purposely set-up by God that stops you from being with him. Of course you'll see your husband again. I also recommend praying to God for you to astral project easier, or to visit your boyfriend on the Astral plane.

Smiley Wink Good luck.

yes Keywest, they always try to break through the veil after several weeks.
try keeping an inner ear open to the sound and expecation of hearing him speak to you. some work with visuals, I worked with the inner ear.

the first thing my husband did after he passed on was to remind me I needed to contact the insurance agency who had a mistake in their paperwork to my detriment to the tune of 25k. I heard his actual voice. but we'd had a deal that he was gonna let me know he was ok after death. u probably are trying to get past your nonbelief where I already knew it was true, we don't die. so if my words help at all, that is the purpose. let us know what happens and keep your mind open and this lets him know you are willing to be receptive to his communication.

hugs, alysia
