The Prospects Of Unlimited Awareness
Jun 14th, 2006 at 10:06pm

When considering the prospects of unlimited awareness in the afterlife and limited awareness in the physical... Would unlimited awareness work akin to limited awareness, in that, altough I am currently aware of numerous things, I can still operate at a basic level (i.e. focus on one thing at a time thereby accomplishing comprehensive goals.) When I consider the prospects of unlimited awareness, I tend to think of an individual suffering from A.D.D... Although I know that this is not the proper angle to take. I must assume that when we leave our bodies, the functionability of it all will be very fitting and appropriate, thereby relinquishing any and all misnomers.

I will assume that unlimited awareness will function quite similarly to limited awareness... However, with unlimited awareness, one would be aware of a lot more.

Also, I will assume that whilst harboring our astral selves, (beings we won't possess physical brains)... there will be no such thing as "hazy" thinking or "fog" in the brain. I tend to get this quite often, and I have to say, I would enjoy the "thought" of never feeling it again!Smiley

Friend,

Don't worry about the afterlife as a time to explore no limits. Explore it now, while you're in the physical. Ask yourself; what is it that is unchanging? Whether 'in life' or in 'afterlife'. From a certain view, life and afterlife are all one cloth; they are seamless. So.... what is it that is unchanging about the two?

                                Sharing my heart with you,
                                                                          Tim F.

Wow, Tim:)

That was very profound, but you lost me a little bit there. Would you be able to unpack it a little bit for me.

Thanks Tim! Those are great thoughts to consider. I guess that some of my thoughts of the afterlife are still old concepts that were drilled into my head as a child; silently seeping through... It's apparent to me that when consdering the alteration of the subconscious of an old belief system(s)... the "alteration/reintegration" process is not always an easy task. I have to admit though, it can be one heaven of a journey! Sometimes I have to remind myself of the seemlessness/oneness of it all, as I tend to get lost in the wake of misconception.

Thanks for the clarity Tim.  Smiley

Dave,

What is 'seamless' is awareness.  You are an eternal being NOW.  There's ways of discovering this while you are in the body. There is something about the field of your own ordinary mind that never changes, it never goes away. Certainly thoughts and concepts appear and go away; that's not your mind. Those appear in the field of your mind.  It might be hard to notice because it is so close to you, it's been staring you in the face all this time. When you do notice, all you can do is laugh... "of course!"

Your eternal nature is owned by no culture or religion, it can't be sold to you or be bought or traded. Priests and gurus aren't the go-betweens for access to it. It is not a belief. It is your birth-right.

As children, we take in ideas and concepts that say certain things aren't possible. We have to agree or pretend to agree to get along in the culture at large. And then we forget we're pretending, the limits feel real as we 'grow up'. But.... your real nature is limitless, eternal. It always has been.

You're a story-teller, right Dave? Your imagination is limitless, you've felt that at times, right?  There is something very true about your imagination & creativity, perhaps you've felt it, something free...

Explore the afterlife in the same way, with the playfulness of a storyteller or child. Warm your heart and play. Don't worry about whether it's 'real' or not yet. Play with it. And come here and share your stories.

There IS proof that the afterlife exists, Dave's personal proof. I have the clear sense you will find it soon. It is literally a hair's breadth away.

Looking forward to hearing your stories...

                                           Love,  tim F.

'ello. chuckles here. I must say I like the word seamless to explain awareness of who and what consciousness is when the body is dead as a doornail.
I like everything you said Tim. when i can't add something to a post is when the old nuerons are firing...so thanks.  Cheesy
Cosmic, my take on limited versus unlimited: it appears to be a holographic universe..the limited C1 me tends to looks like a shadow of the unlimited me, or shall we say a hologram. in regards to the 5 senses, once when I was out getting a lesson in the fundamentals of being out, I could see in front of me, in back and to the sides of self in a spatial way. it disoriented me as I'm used to gathering information only with 2 eyes in front visually; I quickly asked to be oriented as usual and it was so. this I was comfortable with and continued my journey. I suppose when I'm ready I could be comfortable with seeing all around me. that is if I ever repeat such an experience...it was a first for me. its possible that it won't be repeated in that way; we just don't know if expectations have anything to do with obe journeys, so I have none. I think Tim is right not to sweat the small stuff, but have fun with it. I have the thought about unlimited awareness as being a merge with All That Is. a different term for what we called God. Many are a little bit wary of merging with this..as it seems to suggest the loss of individuality. I think this would be a groundless worry as it suggest free will is bypassed. It's not like that. There is no sacrifice involved in this process of moving beyond limitations and belief systems. The natural state of human consciousness is a state of abstraction. I wouldn't say exactly this is the fog you speak of entering, but if you actually recognize you are in a fog, then I wouldn't call it a fog, but a release going on inside of you which moves you to clarity. if you were in a true fog, you wouldn't be able to recognize it to express concern about it here. (my opinion) the reason I think a lot of things we hassel ourselves over are illusions, is because I met my higher self and she told me we were one being. I told her to leave me alone! (insert chuckle) based on this experience I built a thought system of more than 20 years duration. you see, she was the unlimited self expression that I wished I could achieve. she was so free, so happy, so complete...frankly, it was bugging to my limited c1 self!! (insert another chuckle) probably we are doing a merge thing as I think I became more hospitable to intrinsic essence of spirit. hmm. distilled wine anyone? Smiley

so the way I see it..in limited c1 we move in a slowed down thinking way...we all have a certain frequency. then on the others side things speed up. it would be like a fan. our body is like a fan. then spirit reaches in and the blades begin moving, spinning so fast we can no longer view the blades singly but see right through the fan blades.  hugs, alysia

Tim, that's quite a bit of wisdom you're imparting there, brother.  It makes me feel like I'm listening to "the light".  I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Thanks again Tim & Chuckles. Those were both great posts with great insights.

That's a perfect analogy Chuckles! Definitely a keeper.  Smiley <<< (You were wondering where to use this pic of the yellow smiley in the bathtub... you've got to admit, I gave it a valiant effort!) LOL!  Wink

The founder of the Noetic society was one of the astronauts, Edgar Mitchell.  He reported when up in space, he suddenly felt a merging with all that is.  He was aware of his hands performing the tasks to which he was assigned and trained.  However, he felt one with the universe.  While happening on a space mission, he dared not mention this to his colleagues; they would have thought him mad.

I don't believe that we all have unlimited awareness simply because we die, and shed our bodies.  I believe that after death, thought more easily creates reality.  Therefore one needs only to think in order to create.  This may be one thing we were meant to learn to control while incarnate on earth.  To control our thoughts that create.

I also agree with Tim.  By trying to open our awareness and lose our blocks and limitations while incarnate, we evolve while here on ol' planet earth.  No reason to have to die to do that.
