I neglected to mention a potentially significant fact: RJ used to live within easy walking distance of MIT just on the other side of the Charles River.

Berserk,
Are you purposely teasing us?!
Are you ever going to look him up?!
Genealogists use the Social Security Death Index on line (SSDI). As I recall you only need the name and possible location , then if they have more than one, you need more info. You don't initially need their SS number.

Don-

If you'll send me RJ's full name and approximate age, I may be able to find out more info for you.

Don in case you are still checking this

I had occassion to go by the MIT Student Center today. I knew that there are numerous concrete square benches outside at the student union and that many people just sit on the steps there, but I wanted to check. The Alpine Cafe has little tables indoors, but has an area just outdoors chained off for patrons' use. It is under trees and has for seating numerous heavy-duty picnic tables with attached benches for seating. When I wrote here before  I didn't remember it was picnic tables, and I thought it was pretty interesting that you got that part right. It is on the Kresge side of the union bldg. In another section of the building towards Mass Ave there is an Anna's Taqueria...is that close enough to Donna's for you? It is nice and hot, too bad everyone isn't here to enjoy a bagle and conversation in the shade at the picnic tables.

Lucy,

Thanks so much for these details.   Your decription nicely corresponds to what I witnessed in my dream.  And your discovery of Anna's Taqueria just may be what I misremember or misheard as Donna's Cafe.  At the time of the dream, I was oblivious to all such apparent verifications.   I didn't even recall that RJ had lived within walking distance of MIT.

My amateur detective work has traced RJ's last knwon residence (as of 15 years ago) to York, PA.   I called Information and received the number of an RJ with a middle name that suggests I may have the right fellow.  Unfortunately,  after dozens of calls in the past 2 wekks, I have yet to find anyone home.  I am reluctant to express my bizarre reason for calling on the answering machine.  After all, I don't know for sure that this is the right RJ.  But if my attempts to make contact continue to fail, I will leave a message and will post ther result on this thread.

Don
