Shopping for gemstones...
Jun 6th, 2006 at 3:03pm

I was watching this television show on various energy locations last night and was kind of intrigued at what seemed to be high vibrations from the quartz at Maccu Piccu.

I decided to start looking for quartz to purchase today and found gemstonetherapy.com and gemisphere.com - unfortunately there are no frosted quartz necklaces currently available - only non-frosted spheres.  Of course, being a guy and all, maybe a quartz necklace would look kind of odd on me at work.

Does anyone have experience using gemstones, quartz in particular?  I'm serious about experimenting with this stuff to see if it actually works.  Any reliable sources where I can purchase from?  The good stuff seems to be the most expensive.

but stones based on how they feel to you. If you go to a expo with healers , you will see them hold their hands over the stones.
You may feel heat or cool being emitted from the crystal or even jsut "feel" that it is calling to you.
Everyone just knows (think with your gut and heart and not with your head) when they find what they are looking for.
There are some great crystal healing books available eg "the crystal bible" by Judy Hall printed by godsfield press.
and crystals are for all, don't be intimidated by others expectations of you.
Good luck!

Greetings, madsketcher,
Geology shows and websites have some great quartz sometimes and other stones, usually at better prices.  If jewelry lodes you down (haha). what about a piece that sits out on a table?
(Do you like to draw?  I do.  Do you use intuition or meditative states to help develop your work?)

Hi betson,

I am an artist, so yes, I like to draw.  Lately I haven't been too inspired for creativity, but I am definitely interested in new ways for inspiration.   What kinds of shows or sites in particular do you know of that sell stones?

I'm going to check out some crystals at a local Buddhist temple near me this weekend - I'm not sure what exactly they sell but I have to wait and find out.

Cathy_B: I have "Gemstone Energy Medicine" on my wishlist, but will also bookmark the Judy Hall book - which I read about on amazon.  Thanks!

Greetings,
I was lucky enough to live near rockhound clubs that had annual sales at fairgrounds and malls when i was purchasing stones. If you googled using the words gemstones and minerals sale, lapidary supplies, crystals and gemstones, etc,  in various combinations, you'd find some good sources on the web, I think.

Sorry to hear you're in a slow creative period. Have you ever taken your favorite drawing media and made a random or accidental shape on paper and then 'meditated' on it and then worked into it? It can become a means of unlocking the imagination for both creativity and spiritual insights. I kept some of my 'exercises' like that and they turned out to have some bits of prophesy in them regarding future events in my life.  Thanks for reminding me---I think it's time to try it again!

That is a wonderful creative idea, betson.  I sometimes draw without trying to think about what i'm drawing, and the results are usually very interesting.  I'll try your meditative approach.  My favorite medium is black ink - love it love it love it.  Thanks again.

There is a KPC Buddhist Temple about 15 minutes from where I live.  They have several gemstones (from Brazil) and these things really do work!  I've been on this intense energy rush since I purchased them.  Possibly due to my high sensitivity (Capricorn with mostly Sagittarius traits).  I picked up a quartz diamond and pyrite - both are very strong.  I even had a really out of this world deja-vu moment when they were close to me - threw me out of my chair.  Anyway, I recommend trying out gemstones to anyone else.  They really work, if you get the real things.  I have my proof. ;o)
