Be very careful about predictions, Juditha, because they play on the subconscious creative mind, much as do curses and strong beliefs.
In other realms, such as the afterlife, our thoughts can create things immediately. You'll find this in Bruce's description of Focus 27 on this site. On earth, it is important to understand the laws of the mind, and how our thoughts interact with our reality. It is not your stated thoughts that will necessarily come to pass, but your deepest beliefs, be they aspirations to greatness or fears. Thus in the Bible do we hear Job say "that which I feared has come upon me."
One way I learned to use our own creative power of the mind was to meditate, and while deeply relaxed, I would impress suggestions onto my subconscious mind. During meditation, much of the chatter and worries are simply not there. So this is the perfect time to plant a suggestion for positive change on the subconsicous.
What we call the subconscious mind, is as Carl Jung the famed psychologist, described as a "shared or collective" mind. It is the interface between our individual thoughts and the universe (including the afterlife). This is why communication through dreams from a deceased relative may be so powerful.
The subconscious mind is a pure creative force. It does not reason, it does not question. It is not "us" so much as a part of the universe we all tap into. If you give your subconscious good, noble and pure thoughts, you are bound to see these qualities manifest in your real life. Likewise, if people allow their worst beliefs and thoughts to be repeated over and over, they will take seed, and their real lives will show the fruit of the negative thoughts.
Thus, as Dave on this board has said, we are all co-creators with God, only on the physical plane where we all reside, we must learn these laws of mind, and learn them well.
Now, to get back to the prediction of your death. If you empower another to make a prediction, and allow that thought to settle into your subconscious, it can become a reality. This is the power of the subconscious, but it can be used in a negative way. I see nothing wrong with living well into your 80s by the way. However, Rob is correct; the future is unwritten. It is unwise to have others make predictions, impress their views onto your subconscious and thereby give those views/thoughts power.
My two cents.
