Dying in sleep :(
May 2nd, 2006 at 10:02pm

Hi all

I was just wondering what if anyone has had a communication with a spirit that has died during sleep?

I know it is an obscure question but this is the biggest factor in my fear of death, I know it happens to us all eventually Sad but I was just wondering what could be experienced?

Do people know that they are going to die jjust befoer they go to sleep?

Wow, I would look into a past-life regression if I were you.  Most people would prefer to die in their sleep.

Hi Jambo

Nice to see the sign of Pisces symbolising our great return.  Smiley

I agree with sengels; dying in ones sleep must be the smoothest transitition to the other side.

Don't worry or fear Jambo, surrender all anxiety of death; when the time comes you will look back at the happening as being one of the most glorious moments you have encountered.

Love and freedom.

As for myself, I want to be totally aware of the dying process and be fully awake.  Shocked

My grandma died while in a coma... Right before she died, she let out a HUGE breath of air. Apparently your lungs hold in a specified amount of air throughout your entire life. However, upon dying that last remnant of oxygen gets pushed out of the lungs... I've heard from numerous NDE reports, that at the moment that "last" breath leaves your body, it is at that moment that your soul releases from your body. (This of course depends on what type of ailment/accident is the cause for your departure.)

The amazing part about my grandmother is that at the very moment my mom told her that, "she can go whenever she feels ready..." "that we will be with her very soon..." "and that there is no need to worry, God is with you, and all you have to do is follow the light..." It was at that "very" moment my grandmother released her last breath of air.

I remember when my grandfather passed away... He had a surreal/peaceful look on his face. To me, that's a very comforting sign.

With regards to dying in one's sleep... I believe that it can be a very peaceful/easy transition into the afterlife... It would be akin to waking up from a dream in our physical reality... However, you would be waking up in the "real" reality. How much more exciting/adventurous could it possibly get? It has always amazed me that one could be having the "worst" day in their entire life... and all that it takes is 1/10th of a second for all of their worries/troubles to disappear. For instance... when I was having a very difficult/extremely stressful day a few years ago, when I felt as if "nothing" could fix my worries... I was lying on my bed and I had, instantaneously, a vision of awareness that opened up in front of me... It was a very surreal landscape of immeasurable beauty and undefinable peace. It made "everything" that I had found to be troublesome and tiring before seem unimportant and significantly insignificant. I felt like I was at my real "home" again! I honestly believe, from the deepest treanches of my heart/soul, that this is quite similar to what the dying experience as they pass on from this life to the next... It just takes "1/10th of a second for everything to become as it "should" be... ("Now, if that's not a welcoming thought... I don't know what is!?")

I too find this idea to simply "wake up" very good and likely!

Hey,

I agree with Marilyn with this one, i would want to be awake and know its going to happen. That may seem like a bad thing to say but it doesn't have to be painful, that way i know I've gone over and hopefully wont need retriving!

But i also believe everyones different so you could pass in your sleep and still awake to the other side no problem.

Hi

Our Spirit is always awake and either way will be conscious of its release from the physical body, dont you think?

Yeah the oversoul part will be concious.

But is there something important about C1 conciousness kicking in?

Monroe wrote something about visiting the future ...third book...and his experiences involved being conciously in the bodies of other animals. And he wrote about their dying and about something happening at the moment of dying, or in the dying process, that seemed to be significant. But we usually sleep through it.

So maybe there is something to be learned from doing death conciously...C1 conciously. Can we take C1 conciousness tot he other side? Is taking C1 conciousness to the other side what allows us to remember dreams, obes, retrievals whatever?

And what is the Tibetan Book of the Dead for anyway? Isn't that to help learn to cross over conciously? Then maybe there is something significant to doing it conciously.

(Hmm I must be over the hill; to think that dying is a more exciting "doing it" than anything else...)

I used to feel it would be best to pass over in my sleep. But when I was living in Virginia with Rita Warren who had been in charge of the Explorer program along with her husband in the early '80's, I changed my mind. We were discussing crossing over one day and I said it would probably be best to do it in your sleep. She said 'not me. I want to be fully conscious of the whole process.'  She was with her husband when he passed over and he told her it was just glorious. This got me to thinking and then I realized that's what I want too. Wink

I agree with Mairlyn and Ryan, I too would want to be awake and conscious and know what is happening.  Of course our higher selves would be aware but there is so much to be learned and gained, I feel, when we can have an experience through the persepective of our conscious selves on this level.  I don't think I'll be afraid of death, but I do want to be finished here and ready for it when the time comes.  I don't like surprises!

Of course, if you die in your sleep, it's possible you could have an OBE at the time and know what is going on from that perspective.  In the case of a coma, I'm sure that is what takes place.

He told the medium that he came away from his body 2 days before they had his life support switched off. He said he stood there just looking at his body waiting for them to turn it off so he could move on,as he was hit by a car and he had brain death. he told his mum and dad that he loved them ,and he was happy and well again and they was not to worry about him. Juditha, that's a wonderful thing you found out. So it sounds like those who are brain dead leave their body before the physical dies. Thanks so for telling us.

I wonder, if once we pass, if our life in the physical world will seem like a fuzzy dream, as does our rememberance of our previous life in the spirit world... Is this just a "flip-flop" kind of thing?
