I was paralysed when waking up in bed yesterday.
Apr 11th, 2006 at 2:18am

Monday morning (yesterday), I was paralysed in bed when waking up around 7:00am in the morning. I was laying on my back in bed, woke up, unable to move. It's the spookest thing you can ever experience. It's like your physical body has died, or your muscles don't work anymore. If I thought about it, I probably could have rolled off the bed and out-of-body. I finally woke up after being paralysed in bed, trying to move my head, etc, and was able to move physically again.

I lay on my back every night. I can't sleep otherwise. It seems every week I either (A): astral project, (B): get waking paralyses, (C): have falling dreams

It's true. Smiley Cheesy Your opinions.

Hi RyanParis  Smiley

mmm not a nice feeling hey.  When i have a intense 'dream' i also wake up with this paralysed feeling - can't move, also my heart is beating fast, my mouth is dry and im sweating. it takes a while for me to just lift my arm up. Is it fear?

it will be interesting to hear what other people think or if they also experience this.

It has happened to me only once, about 8 years ago.  I woke up on my stomach, unable to move any part of my body besides my eyes.  Just out of the corner of my vision I could see something dark.  At the time i thought i was being attacked by a demonic entity, and the fear was quite literally choking(I no longer fear attack from demonic entities thankfully).  I uttered the name of God and snapped out of it.  I now believe it was a case of sleep paralysis.  Not really sure what brings this on.  Some say waking out of sleep too fast, and our body is still in the sleep mode that prevents us from acting out dreams physically.  It is quite unsettling indeed, but i do wish it would happen again sometimes, so i could analyse it.  Hope this helps in some way

with Love, Km

Hey Kilometers

Interesting thoughts  .. maybe it's because the spiritual realms are so nice and when we wake up we want to go back there again!

Ryan, you most likely just came back from an OBE. I've had this happen once even though I've never consciously gone OBE but we all do while sleeping. When this happened to me, I knew what it was and just relaxed and waited til I could move. You eventually moved, right? You'll never stay paralyzed. Wink

With Love,

About 26 years ago I had my first out of body experience. It started with paralysis. At the time I didn't know anything about out of body experiences.

Since this experience I've found that out of body experiences that start with lucid dreams sometimes end with paralysis.

Lots of people experience paralysis without anything bad happening. I've found that if I wiggle my hand a bit, the paralysis will end.

Hi, I've never had this paralysis, if it's scary, couldn't one focus on the breath? I guess at least these muscles continue working, don't they?
I've just remembered that as a boy I had bumped very hard with my belly on the ground and I couldn't breathe for what seemed a loong time and I didn't knew for how long this would last, but I knew if it lasted much longer I was about to say goodbye forever, well if I only would have been able to speak...
