I don't think so, since that would make living the first life pretty pointless.

George, I Don't think we can possibly put a time frame on it; there are just to many variables. For one we meaning the present aspect that is in  incarnation me and you,may not reincarnate at all,as there are so many aspects to the total being that is the real us our over soul/higher self.

I have seen through my dreamtime, other time frames that I have existed within ,one being the last incarnation, which ended in the early 1950 Ty's. So for me that would have meant I had a turn around of only 10 years. In the end it doesn't really matter, we are just such a small amount of the total self, where just do-in our part.

I think the key is to keep searching, but within that search to not loose focus on the job at hand, and that job would be our own evolution to face that which we fear and overcome, this in its self will put a smile on our higher-selfs face I can assure you.

well, that fits with what I've heard about dogs reincarnating every 5 years....that's 35 dog years - pretty close!  hmmm.  I was trying to be funny, but now I'm thinking about that....  some universal mathematical constant for life cycles perhaps.  Where did you read it was 30 years George?

Might reincarnate as a cat?
I had a dog about 20 years ago, when I was a kid.
I now have an (11-year-old) cat who took to me RIGHT away, and his mannerisms bring that dog to mind. Might Slobodan the cat, have been Rex the dog? Seeking out his old owner? Although it would have been a decade between incarnations...

Ya never know.  It's common belief among pet owners that they reincarnate back to their beloved owners.  Rather than take them to the vet to be euthenized, I had shot 3 of our dogs in my life.  (dear readers, don't worry about Bud being a hard hearted killer, I stopped doing that and take em to the vet).  Anyway, we have a dog now that's scared to death of the sight of a gun even though he has no previous experience with them (he doesn't need to hear it fire, he knows what a holster looks like and everything), AND he bites me all the time.  I'm somewhat convinced it's the last poor old guy I put down, back so he can give me a hard time about shooting him.  Despite his biting me and generally anti-social behavior toward every living thing, I'm trying to make it up to him.  He gets treated very well and is actually just overly passionate about everything, including being a watchdog.  He's great.  If it's him, I'm really glad he's back.  I won't even go into the extremely unlikely circumstances that brought him to us, but he was 15 mos old, and 2 hours away from death row for aggressive behavior and belonged to a guy I'd never met before, who had cancelled his death appointment 2 weeks earlier on a feeling.  It was weird.

Oh yeah, and it was 5 years between death of last dog and birth of new one. (que the Twilght Zone music).

If properly done, shooting them is as kind (kinder, if the dog fears car rides or the vet) than taking them to the vet, so I'd be surprised (unless you're a lousy shot? ;>) that he'd still be feeling spiteful about that, a whole life later.  Of course, that probably isn't helpful since it leave you to wonder what *else* he might be put out with you about...

Yikes!  He was an accident prone dog.  I'm sure he blamed half the crazy stuff that happened to him on me.  He fell off a 9' high deck onto a pile of scrap metal (we found claw marks going off the side of the deck where he tried to hold on), my wife's ex ran over his head with a pickup truck, when I put him down, the first bullet went clean through his head and didn't kill him.  He was not happy about that first shot.  Hence the reason I stopped doing that.  No, I'm quite a good shot, but nothing ever went completely right with that dog.

Hi I had an alsation she dog and she was so gentle natured . She never growled at anyone or ever bit anyone. I also had a little pomeranian dog who was the complete opposite . It would bite anyone who attempted to stroke him and dare anyone to get near him except me. They have both died and now i have two little cross breeds which are Yorkshire terrier and Jack russell. They are called Barney and Ben . Ben has got the same gentle nature as my alsation and Barney has got the same viscious nature as my pomeranian had.Ithink my alsation and my pomeranian have reincarnated into Barney and Ben. God bless juditha
