Hi everybody I am quite new to these forums as well as to the whole subject of life afer death...I am from Greece were life doesn't really include such topics yet...However I do find a logic in the concept of life after death which I wont try to analyze right now cause it will take ages...perhaps in a more suitable topic..
To my experience then ....I had an episode of the so called sleep paralysis last night in which I woke up but wasn't able to move a bit. At that point since I had read relevant articles I understood that It would be smth like sleep paralysis and I tried to calm myself.. It was at that point that I clearly heard a childrens voice asking me to go closer to him cause he had smth to tell me....the voice was really clear and calm and transmitted more like telepathically rather that in sound form.I tried to calm myself and I continued to listen to the childrens voice asking me to go closer as he had something to tell me...after about a minute or so my mobility came back and I was fully 'awake'.
I found this experience fascinating and I would like to ask what is your standings, points of view in the whole sleep paralysis subject....I know the scientific point of view, however I don't believe that it is all chemistry....

The reason this site is so fascinating is that you will get responses from 'every' point of view, and all helpful.
Here's something else to try:
Forget what you've read about sleep paralysis, or set it aside. Say it's the child's voice you are curious about now. This evening instead of going to sleep, set your mind to intend to speak with the child. Ask it what it wants. Wait for what comes to mind.---
If you were 'on a different wave length' when the child first approached you, perhaps you can find it again.
The point of view here is that the child is an entity who once lived and is stuck in a plane close to the living. It needs help to go on in its development, which you provide by catching its attention, then offering to introduce it to someone who can help it in whatever it says it needs. By then your energies probably will have attracted a spiritual guide for the child and you can put your attentions elsewhere. Then you have helped 'retreive' this lost soul.
That is a simplified overview.
If you will read on this site under Retreivals and Bruce Moen's writings, listed at the top, you will have a better idea of what is happening. Mr. Moen is an accomplished leader in such communications between these 'planes' of life. Best wishes!

This is my take on sleep paralysis take  it for what it is a point of view, it maybe the only real answer you will find.

We each have light and dark energy within us,most who are incarnated are of the light be it ever so drowned out by  the ego within some. But through the astral we reconnect with all our other aspects, and its here that your experience took place.

We are all souls looking to evolve , now when a soul has reached a level where reconnection to the higher planes can take place there are challenges set, we live in a world where fear is rampart its every where. And when your higher self decides its time for you to reconnect there are other components that well lets just say these components are happy with the way things are there happy with you living with this disconnection. So when you start to awaken they have there plans already set. They know you have fear in you for its been there since birth so they work out very ingenious ways to bring this fear to the surface and when they do you become frozen, and from this fear they know most will disconnect for we have enough of that down here to deal with.

So there plan almost always works

Your job here is to overcome your fear. When your in this place again repeat to yourself I'm safe and always protected, call on your guides for protection they hate that one.

If we wake up nonphysically, instead of physically, it is difficult to tell that this is what has happened.  If we try to move our physical body when nonphysically awake, it doesn't move.  We are awake in the same space as our physical body, but not in the same 'reality' as our physical body.  We believe we are physically awake and so we say that it is sleep paralysis.

The child's voice sounds to me like a friend who was attempting to assist you in having an out of body experience (OBE).  My guess is that if you had just acted to move toward the voice, instead of trying to move your body, you'd have had a classic OBE.

I have had many episodes of sleep paralysis, and each one has been different.  Some scary, and some were ok, because I knew what was going on at the time.
They still happen and do make me wonder.
