Awesome. Smiley Cheesy John Edward is the man. My dad says that John Edward makes his money lying to greiving, sobbing, shaking, confused, hurting people. I say John Edward rules. I'll no doubt be watching John Edward's new TV show on WE.

Opinions? Smiley Cheesy

Hi Ryan I like John Edwards Ipersonally think he is a very genuine medium . Some will say things about him like that including your dad . My dad was just the same but now hes passed over hes admited through the medium that he did not beleive . But now he knows its true . Imean i still beleive that Derek Acorah is genuine but some say the same thing about him . It will always be said because not everyone beleives . God bless juditha

Juditah Derek Acorah accidentally admitted that he was a fraud to a journalist from The Mirror,

John Edwards on the other hand I don't know a lot about so I can't comment on him.

Well I do think Edward rules, all the way to the bank.  Sounds like your dad can see through this stuff.

I suggest you tape his appearances, and then play back a few times.  Watch how many wrong hits he gets, and watch carefully how he hones in as soon as he gets a correct hit.  All of a sudden, all of the wrong stuff he said gets forgotten, and now the poor grieving person is all excited because Edward got a lucky guess.  It's called cold calling technique, very convincing when done by a skilled medium.

Also keep in mind that it's equally possible that he is using ESP to pick up thoughts from his subject.  After all, he never says something that the subject draws a blank on, only to find out later that what Edward said was something true but also something the subject had no knowledge of.

I will admit that Edwards is more convincing than Sylvia Browne, who is so phony she should be ashamed of herself.

But be careful before you pronounce Edwards or anyone else to be authentic.  They are like a good car salesman, who has you in the office agreeing to buy a car before you even know what happened.

A grieving person grasps on to any shred of evidence their loved one is still alive.  They are desperate to believe.  That very desperation causes them to clutch on to even the flimsiest piece of evidence and break into tears.  That's another reason why Edward picks those who have recently lost a loved one, instead of someone whose loved one died years ago.

Think about it.

Rondele,

You have a discerning mind.  I like that.  ESP is one of my pet peeves.  Since there has never been a scientific proof of how one can read a mind, how the data would be transmitted, it is to me no less mystical to say Edwards uses ESP on a biological system (a person) and gets some information right.

Science in general doesn't believe in the mind.  It is an evolutionary curiousity.  It believe in neurochemical electrochemical circuits and responses, and believes that thought is all physically based this way.  I don't agree with that.

I don't like cold reading either.  That is why a medium like George Anderson, who did three stunning readings on ABC television in a controlled setting was so much more impressive to me.  He said who came through.  Names, circumstances, relationships, etc.  Edwards sees numbers or symbols and those are his personal things to interpret (pink rose = love).  I wouldn't want a medium with those skills.  Too vague for me.

Best to you,

Matthew

Yes and mediums like Gordon Smith who can give obscure but accurate details about the "spirit" who comes through to him that he could of not of possibly guessed.

Rondele,
I watched a small clip of John edwards on the internet (forgot the link) and his technique did not seem like cold calling, but it was only a small clip so I wil have to find more.

Matthew-

I'm not sure on this, but as I recall some follow-up investigations revealed that Anderson or his associates had gotten information prior to his readings either from or about the people he read for.

Again, I could be wrong on this.  I also saw the ABC show.  Maybe you could do some checking.  Here are a couple of interesting references, esp the first one.

Hi When im in circle i sometimes get things . once in a sitting i told this woman i had a lady with me i could see her in my head . i told her what she looked like and i was even given a name which was dot . A nd i could also see dot holding this baby . Anyway i told this woman inb our circle and she told me it was her mother and the baby she was holding must have been the baby she lost and her mothers name was dot . Then this other woman said she had lost something dear to her and i saw in my head this small band of gold with 3 shiny lights around it and i also kept seeing this reel of purple cotton .Isaid to her you have lost a ring with 3 diamonds on the top of it but i keep seeing this purple cotton and i dont know why .So she said i have lost a gold ring today with 3 diamonds on it and i have been sewing curtains today with purple cotton .Im not that sure myself how i pick these things up but the reason im in circle is because i want to be a medium. Ive also heard footsteps around the circle .God bless juditha

Perhaps reading the book below may be of some help, as John Edward along with other mediums were tested and the results are very interesting.

The Afterlife Experiments : Breakthrough Scientific Evidence of Life After Death (Hardcover)
by Gary E. R. Schwartz, William L. Simon, Deepak Chopra

"This riveting narrative, with its electrifying transcripts, puts the reader on the scene of a breakthrough scientific achievement: contact with the beyond under controlled laboratory conditions. In stringently monitored experiments, leading mediums attempted to contact dead friends and relatives of "sitters" who were masked from view and never spoke, depriving the mediums of any cues. The messages that came through stunned sitters and researchers alike."

Here, as they unfolded in the laboratory setting, are uncanny revelations about a son's suicide, what a deceased father wanted to say about his last days in a coma, the transformation of a man's lifelong doubts about the afterlife, and, most amazing of all, a forecast of a beloved spouse's death. Dr. Schwartz was forced by the overwhelmingly positive data to abandon his skepticism, reaching some startling conclusions.

Compelling from the first page to the last, THE AFTERLIFE EXPERIMENTS is the amazing documentation of groundbreaking experiments you will never forget.

I believe it is possible to receive messages from the spirit World, because I receive them on a regular basis.

I receive lots of visual images. Because of how I receive them and because of the information the images communicate, I know they aren't just hallucinations or telepathic messages that come from a physical person who lives within my physical proximity.

If it is possible for me to receive messages from the spirit World in this form, then it is certainly possible for other people, such as mediums, to do the same.

Sure there are some fakes, but this doesn't mean that all of them are fakes.
