Funerals

Sorry for all the questions but I never tire of learning!

Do you think when we pass,we have the choice to go to our own Funerals? I have heard that most Spirits do,but in my case,I would hate to see my Children and Husband Broken hearted,I would have to keep out of the way! Surely The Spirit would also be upset knowing their family are grieving badly?

Greetings, goldyflocks,
If you were at your own funeral, you could gently console your family. They'd probably appreciate it. In my experience spirits at funerals are some of the easiest to perceive.
Since I hadn't been involved in seeking out afterlife contacts a few decades ago, I was surprised to encounter 2 spirits at funerals then.  This sounds gross but my mother-in-law tried to climb in my mouth! I assume she was seeking a body to be near her son. Since she was Christian I mentally invoked the name of Christ and threatened her before she would stop. It scared me and I wasn't good at holding on to loving feelings when I was scared. Actually we didn't know each other as she'd had a severe stroke before I entered her son's life.
The other funeral spirit was quite the opposite and told corny jokes about dying to be there and said dying was easy compared to watching that ceremony.
He didn't have any family and I had always laughed at his jokes before, so I guess that's how he happened to talk with me then. He still had the same personality he'd always had.
Before I came to this site and read other peoples' experiences I never trusted the 'reality of such experiences but now after reading these I see it's important to bring love into any sphere of life any time anywhere.

Goldyflocks,

As a minister, I have performed many funeral services.   I like to point out to the mourners the biblical grounds for believing that our deceased loved ones can somehow monitor our progress from beyond the grave.  I suggest that the deceased just might be drawn to his own funeral by all the grief, love, and attention.   The case I make is usually very well received as a source of comfort and a way of making the proceedings all more sacred.   In my research into the paranormal, I have occasionally come across cases in which the newly deceased claim to have witnessed their own funerals.  I have also occasionally received paranormal guidance on what to say about the deceased, guidance which is later verified by shocked guests.  Perhaps this guidance came from the newly deceased person herself.
