What Happens When We Die?
Jan 22nd, 2006 at 4:33am

I realise this is not strictly on topic but found it so interesting that I thought it ought to be posted here.
I believe someone may have posted a link to Victor Zammit`s web site previously, on which he, a lawyer, presents a book outlining a case for the existence of the Afterlife, which is readable on line.

Chapter 27, the last one, is most interesting indeed, with many items stated resonating very well indeed with writings in Bruce`s books and with other authors.

The link is http://www.victorzammit.com/book/chapter27.html
and I would thoroughly recommend all to take a look.

best wishes, roger Smiley

Andrew Skolnick does a pretty good job of trashing Victor Zammit.
Do a google on "Skolnick+Zammit" and check out some of the hits you get.
One problem I have with Zammit, is the apparent ANGER he has against skeptics. This is more reminiscent of some brooding medieval inquisitor, than a man who feels he is in possession of the truth...
Not to mention, Zammit (on his webpage) is plugging JONATHAN EDWARDS and his cheesy "Crossing Over" program (which used to be on the Sci-Fi channel. I always found the little disclaimer "The Sci-Fi Channel makes no claims in support of this program's content" worth a chuckle or two.) This show has got to be one of the most callous fleecings of vulnerable people that I've ever seen. (There is good evidence that Edwards employs cold reading techniques.) IMHO, an hour spent watching "Lexx" (the show with the hot chick and the gay robot head) was time better spent than an hour watching  Edwards' drivel.
Thusly, I do not trust Victor Zammit, and would hazard a suggestion that his website is a poor choice to link to, when trying to make your case.
Just another of my $0.02,

Hi, Chumley,

I very much hear what you say and will check out the Google search you have mentioned.
However, my posting was really just to get others to take a look at chapter 27 of his book only, to see what they thought about the various comments made about what happens when we die. Do readers agree or disagree with them in general?
To me, without getting into discussion about what sort of a man he is, etc., I found my own thoughts are generally along the same lines as those mentioned in that particular chapter.

Most psychics around the world pretty much agree we lucid dream with other conscious spirits in the spirit world/astral world after we die. I've heard them IMPLY this many times over on TV and everywhere.

John Edward in his book One Last Time, made it very clear that when you're unconscious in bed, your astral body lifts up and goes to the astral world/dream world and sometimes meets with crossed over loved ones and family members, especially during R.E.M. (rapid eye movement) sleep. REM sleep is the deepest sleep we get (like around 8:00am in the morning for most people), and it's when you wake up and your astral body feels like it's falling from the sky or falling through your bed.

What impresses me is Mr. Edward doesn't say we sit on white clouds in Heaven and play harps for eternity. He frankly comes out and says what he knows to be true from the spirits.

It isn't the afterlife ideas I'm bashing, it's Edward himself. This guy charges emotionally vulnerable, bereaved people big buckage (100's of $$$) to come on his show and hear him say...
I'm hearing an "M"... anybody in the audience have a deceased family member with the letter "M" in their name?"
"Did (he/she) have a striped tie or bikini?" and so forth.
Well, how many people DON'T know somwbody with the letter "M" in their name? Or have a striped article of clothing? I could learn to do this with a week's training or so, and so could you. It's called "cold reading."
I also hear he employs "moles" to chat with audience members while they are waiting outside the studio/auditorium. The "moles" appear to be just friendly strangers, but they're gathering INFO. Guess who they then report to? Yup, you got it.
It's guys like John Edward who make honest inquirers like you and me look bad, like weirdos - like we just stepped off United Airlines Flight 452 from Kooka-Munga. THINK about that..!

I agree with Chumley on that one,  there is something highly suspicious about John Edwards that I can't put my finger on.  Perhaps it is because I haven't seen much of him on British TV.

If anyone knows of any websites that show research on Edwards I will be forever grateful if the link gets posted  Wink . . . . .

I understand that John Edward on TV is a little funky, but his books could turn any spektic into a believer just by the way he speaks when writing. Just check out the first page of his newest book One Last Time, you won't be able to stop reading:

Can you honestly come out and say the man is lying? I don't think so. Just check out the people's reader comments, all 260 of them. However, I'll leave you guys' to your own opinions. Smiley Wink
