I beleive That some of us will live on this earth in a human body that never gets old,and never dies. The sermon on the mount says the meek will enherit the earth. We will still be spiritual, and also have a perfect body in every way.Now this is my Opinion. What do you guys think?George

Well, i don't have any proof yet, and it certainly goes against mainstream science right now...

But, i've encountered this idea in some fairly reputable metaphysical sources like Cayce, Monroe, Rosiland Mcknight's guides, the Yogic concept of the "Rainbow body"...

They say its possible, but it seems to necessitate a very, very advanced spiritual livingness, overcoming very powerful, innate, and commonly held human belief systems, and a very deep and abiding attunement to Source/God/Oneness stuff.  It seems the personality (not the individuality) needs to 'die' first (get transformed)...

So much so, i can't imagine that it happens all that much now, maybe 1 person in the world like in every 7 generations, or some ridiculously small ratio...

Some of these sources indicate that this would be much more common in the far future, and some indicate it was much more common in the far, far, past.

Who knows?  I guess its just one of those things that you probably will have to either experience, or not experience for yourself.

I don't know, George, maybe ask Anne Rice.  She loved to talk of immortals walking the earth.

I know of no other creature in the physical world that is immortal, but long lifespans even very long lifespans make sense to me, as technology, medicine and spirituality continue to grow and expand.

The nature of our souls is to want to stay in the physical world, while we are here.  The need is absolute.  We will do anything to survive.  Yet, the more spiritually advanced we are, the more it seems that there are other vistas to see, and that in this physical reality we all have our time so to speak.  Nothing measurable lasts forever on earth; Buddhism is based around this knowledge.  On a quantum level, particles are coming into being and being destroyed; our very nature is not of solid building block atoms, but "wavicles," defined not be a sturdy basis but by "probabilities" of existing in one place more than another.

Thus, with the very nature of physical reality as being in flux, the idea of an immortal physical body seems out of place to me.  If we could "download," ourselves onto a neural net inside a robot, you could count me out.  Our consciousness is more than any technology could pick up; it wouldn't still be me.

Are there immortals amongst us?  I doubt it, but I'm not looking to join their group just yet.

Matthew

Even immortals would eventually step off the curb at the wrong time.  So unless they're superhuman and can survive being hit by a random truck, they wouldn't live more than a couple thousand years anyway.

If our consciousness survives who would want to be immortal?

I think i would just trade in my 0 to 60 in 2 hours...75 year old body...for a 0 to 60 in 2 second....18 year old bone bag.

I doubt that's possible.

The physical body comes alive by the laws of Nature, lives for a time, then dies. It is the normal course of Nature.

Death itself is a process, not an event. The grass outside is alive right now, but slowly getting old. Old people's cells are dying day by day, than finally they lay down, their body starts to rot, and their heart stops.

If, on the other hand, you're talking about the spirit or astral body, I don't think it can die since when astral projecting we fall from 90 feet during dreams, hit the ground, and are never injured.

We could say we are all "immortal" in the sense that we truely never cease to exist.  I mean thats what being immortal is right?

Too right mate... but 'imagnize' this....

Looking at the Field of Consciousness that Bruce talks about, and other metaphysical source have talked about...

On one end of the spectrum, you have what we might call pure Consciousness, energy that is extremely, extremely expanded, very, very, very fast vibrating, and 'light' in nature....

This end of the spectrum can be said to be almost purely positive charged (purely active and expansive in nature)....

And say we could relate this to pure Light energy, and this energy birthed or created Soul/Mind, which is individual units of this pure Light stuff, all within this One field...

Within these individual units, there is this pure positive charge of energy (the one that wants to expand), yet a knowledge of the original state of being of the One point of light before it 'moved' within itself.... at one point is was purely passive, unmoving, unchanging, and contractive...  Then it 'exploded' outward/inward and its Light continually 'spread' from the center (not necessarily literally)...

So these units have within them the original memory of the negative state, call it a balancer, or dark womb of creation....

But for whatever reason, some of these, actually a very large group of these individual units while expressing their Source natures, start to unbalance these once perfectly balanced polarities within themselves....

This then created, or more aptly seemingly manifested the 'opposite' 'end' of the Field of Consciousness--matter, physicality which is the negative, contractive, very dense and slow vibrating waves of energy (which take on the appearance of having 'particles')...really just condensed Light energy...  As Einstein showed in his famous formula, matter is really just concentrated pure energy...

Roughly in the middle, is the 'mediating' force we could call Soul or Mind force...

Now, these individual units having unbalanced themselves (for whatever reason), have an innate desire to seek that original balance so that they can know Source again.. Source is like an automatic magnet for these units, yet there is an self imposed 'opposing' force....

To correct this balance, perhaps each unit, must rasise the physical, matter, more negative polarized energy to the state of pure Light again?  In doing this, it is fully restored to its original state, cause it has acheived that perfect balance with the projected negative--matter force, and the pure consciousness--positive force....

Perhaps this is the meaning behind Yeshua's Resurrection?   And the process of raising the bodily vibrations to pure Light, or pure Consciousness is what created the image on the Shroud of Turin?

Some Physicists have theorized that an immense, but very short lived, light--heat radiation is what singed the Shroud with the negative image...

So maybe now Dr. J has attributes of both 'body' and pure Spirit?

Maybe that is our destiny?  But, maybe we have to become totatally filled with that balancing, cohesive creating energy that some call PUL first?  Maybe this is what corrects that imbalance we temporarily manifested?

Also relate the above Trinity of matter--primary negative state of energy, mind/soul--potential balance of positive and negative charge, and spirit--primiarly positive charge to the 3 main Chakras in the body...

The 1st Chakra, the base of the Spine would represent matter/negative charge, the Crown--pure positive charge, and the Heart--the seeking of balance between the two...

Or the Aum, or AhhOhhMmmm vibration, A the Feminine princple of birth, positive out of pure negative...  Light out of darkness, and...

O, or U representing Heart, the potential and necessary balance for the individual unit (who will always be 'individual' or self conscious to some degree)...

And Mmm the nuclear process of releasing form back into Spirit, or pure positve, ever expanding energy... or 'matter annihilator" vibration...

This is why this particular Toning is so powerful...it literally activates and stimulates these 3 Powerhouse Centers, the balancing points of the 7, it mimics this creational process vibrationally....

Or look at the word from the Hebrew term "atonement'...  Break it up... At-One-Ment...

So yeah, i very much believe in 'physical' immortality too, biblically you could say it is the redemption of the fall, though it wasn't necessarily a bad thing, neither was it a 'good' thing...seems to be to have been a pretty 'neutral' thing, except for the fact that the individual units seem to suffer while they have cut themselves off from awarenss of Source, of Home, of the One....

Suffering is not desirable in my book, but that might yet be a human belief system i will eventually trancend, yet why the activity of so many who are Source realized on behalf of us who choose to look the other way....  Maybe since we're all connected, our suffering does affect them on some level, and it is their natural inclination, desire, and very need to try to help us remember our original state of being?

Anyways, just some food for thought....

Ta Nah Sen y'all

Spit said:

I wouldn't mind being de-aged (to about 30 y/o in my case) and then staying that way indefinitely (BUT with the option of taking the bullet after I'd done and seen it all and had enough of C1 life, which would likely take me a few hundred years at least.)
Of course, TRUE physical immortality is a silly idea. Assuming you had a meat body (and I think most folks would prefer that) something would do you in sooner or later.
Now Spit, you've said you fear few things... same with me. But one thing I DO fear - greatly - is growing old... weak... and needing somebody to wipe my a$$ for me. (Hope guns are still legal in about 40-50 years, so I won't have to go through what my stroke-addled 79 y/o step-grandfather is currently going through in the nursing home!)
Now being 19, Spit... well, there MIGHT be anti-aging serums (or whatever) available in the next 30 years or so. You might have a real shot at AVOIDING the above scenario...
And if you could be de-aged to the age of your choice, would you not wish to enjoy C1 for a couple centuries or so? Think of how good a BOXER you might become, if you weren't "over the hill" at the age of 30 or so... I think you might go for that, Spit - considering that if the other side is (said by some, hopefully they're wrong) to be all "Love, Love, Love for Everybody even if you couldn't stand being around them on Earth" - I doubt you'll find too many sparring partners there. You might end up having to take up shuffleboard instead..!

B-Man, there is a anti-aging serum, and its for free!

When you enter deep delta state, your body secretes growth hormone from the Pituitary which becomes more active...

Growth Hormone has been shown to slow down the aging process in the human body... (in a mouse it actually seems to speed up the process for some reason).

Frequent and long periods of exercise and a great, balanced diet also seems to increase HGH hormone levels...

Combine that with extra, consistent deep delta  states like during very deep meditation (and the brief period during sleep), and if you can take most the stress out of your life/attitude, then you have a nice recipe for aging pretty darn well...

But, it involved too much self discipline for most to actualize these higher HGH levels...

In most people, the older you get, the lower and lower your HGH levels, and less and less active your Pituitary becomes...

Does this have to happen?  Nah, but the western lifestyle just does not lend itself to super slow aging...

Also, there have been studies which indicate the lower the caloric intake the less aging and free radical damage that takes place...  Every animal they've tested who was put on a calorie restricted diet, though with good nutrition, has lived much longer than the specie average...

And like many things, you need to 'believe' in and focus on it (but with a certain amount of detachment)  for it to fully actualize in an overt and obvious way...

Maybe they were just stroking my ego, but guidance and a couple sensitives have said that this super slow age thing is more than possible in this lifetime for me... We'll see, not all that important to me, though i believe its possible and interesting.. Just a matter of cleaning out the body more and more, reducing stress more and more, and that oh so subtle Oneness feeling and belief thing which seems to be important... Unified Field Theory in action in other words...  Maybe the most important factor in all of this...

Yet it is a physical, a mental, and a spiritual/energy process....   Can't stress that enough....

 Preacher Man out aight,
 Justin

Greetings,
I'm concerned for you, PhoenixRa, in your own quest for a diet that gives you a more finely tuned spiritual body. I agree we should do more along those lines, and I've been to 3 grocery stores looking at their dried dates, etc but none were sulpher free. Grocers told me that sulpher is routinely used during the drying process. (This is in southern US.)  What do you think of the grain/herb mix called falalfel?  It's reputed to be similiar to what a ''Noah's ark situation' would require.

You do that now.  Grin
But yea, according to the blue print of this dimension.
The 'I', the identity changes according to this dimension of experience which blah we percieve linearly blah. You are not the same person you were five minutes ago, but you are! lol
5 minutes from now this will make sense. hah!
Unless you change in some way which will most likely happen.

Think of it this way. Before you were born is the afterlife.
This is you being anything you want. This is what you have chosen to be. And this is your chosen experience.
Smiley
but yea, its always in a state of becoming. Becoming what you are and what you choose to be,... not becoming futurely or becoming something in the past, but becoming what you are now.
Now is eternal, and within now all becomes. You see.
You focus your attention and become alive in this dimension. You focus your attention in other dimensions and become alive there also. And you possess limitless attentions. Your everywhere and here. Think of it that way. Your everything and yourself, which is everything, Think of it that way.
But you can think and think and think and feel and feel and feel and still not be aware, aware, aware of what your doing and being and choosing now, now, now.

Well, maybe future genetic engineering could give you the body you always dreamed of, Damla. (That's one of the first things I'd have done, as a matter of fact.) THEN you could work on becoming the next Cynthia Rothrock, if that's what you wanted (and you'd have all the time you needed!)
Besides, martial arts (or any other combative skills) are probably completely taboo on the Other Side (assuming it's "Love, Love, Love" even for people you justifiably DESPISED in this world). Unless you go to a "hell" in which case the skills might come in handy (but would you be allowed to "train" in Hell? Or would you just be a torture toy?) you'll have to be a "good little girl, sugar and spice and everything nice." (Turn your stomach? I thought so.)
So, where's the creepy, evil, or boring? The idea of ageless C1 life sounds pretty darn COOL, when you consider all the implications. (Imagine a world where ALL the guys are "hunks" (I'm assuming you're straight here, Damla) and there's no ugly "dorks" or "geeks" (or fat guys, or horny old geezers) to clutter up the scenery for you at the bars on Saturday night..!)
