"Voices in my head"...
Jan 10th, 2006 at 2:32am

And NO, it's not what you think..!
Often at night, as I'm falling asleep... not
asleep yet, but headed there...
I will "hear" people speaking. Sometimes one,
sometimes more. Not to me, or about me - but
to each other.
Last night, I "imagined" a male and female voice
bantering back and forth about some subject
which I forget. But it was almost like listening to
a talk radio show.
Frequently the subject matter will be things about
which I'm NOT thinking about, WOULN'T normally think about, or even have an
interest in.
Is this just the babbling of my brain, OR...
Might I be picking up some random chatter via
"telepathy"(for lack of a better term.)
Any ideas here?

If things are as you describe, it seems like someone is trying to attract your attention.
You could always try an inquisitive, peaceful thought to whoever might be interested.

When falling asleep, I've heard voices from a distance, too. They are either thoughts leaving your mind as you start to sleep, or voices of beings on the Astral.

If you have physical paralyses in the morning, or project out-of-body, you might see people or beings in your room, because you would be out-of-body at the time.

A lot of people hear voices from a distance, too. Many people have physical paraslysis also, and don't realize they are out-of-body.

That's cool, B.

The other morning I woke up with a very strong impression of a huge wave of whispers.  It was like I floated into morning on a big whisper....Smiley  A very full sound like SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

But then, if solipsism is true and I'm All That Exists...
I would have been speaking to MYSELF, no..?
Or would "We" have been speaking to "the I"...
Oh well. Don't want to ride THIS train of thought
too fast, there's bandits lying in wait at the pass and the caboose is about to derail. Shocked
Didn't the Beatles sing about (something) like this in "The Walrus?"
Oh well...

I get that all the time chum, I honestly thought at first it was my imagination but I don't think it is now.

For instance last night just before i went to bed i was watching a football (soccer) show on TV and all my thoughts were on the program.  Suddenly I get these random weird thoughts coming to mind that are completel;y irrelevant to the time.  They are not harmful voices more as chumley said just random voices just speaking to eachother as if i was eavsdropping.

AND NO Im not schizophrenic!

Do you live in an older house, Chumley?
The reason I ask is that I had a series of such experiences when I was in college and our dorm was an old home that some said was 'haunted'. The people who took my 'dream' seriously suggested ghosts or that I'd slipped into another time zone. ??
I thought the voices were over-load from studies, except when I tried to tune in on them, they were as you say conversations between themselves.
Usually I got scared and snapped out of it, but once I stayed with it and also heard laughter and glasses and silverware tinkling. I slowly opened my eyes and instead of being in the upper bunk in our bedroom, I was hovering above a dinner party of formally dressed people!Later when I told our housemother about my weird realistic dream, she got out the original floorplans of the home and showed me where my bed was--right above the middle of the dining room that had since been partitionned in half. (You can't tell from the room layout that it had previously been one room or a dining room.) I didn't like the experience and never had another like it after that.
I describe it to show the audio led to --??-- lucid dream? astral travel? (it ended with a 'fwoop' sound that sometimes happens when I re-enter my physical body.) So if you wanted to keep listening you could find your way to different dimension. Bon voyage!
