Infinity Must Lead To Boredom
Jan 5th, 2006 at 6:07pm

While thinking about the nature of our existance, i find myself stuck at the fact, that if we are eternal then we must at some point, learn all that is learnable...

What do you do, when you have done this? what is the meaning of existance, when you have learned everything.

It does'nt matter if time is 1 million times slower when we die, there comes a point when you find out theres nothing left to which you have not done.

What do you done then? i perosnally have no idea, the only thing i can think of, is we must be a long way off human form, because as humans we aim to gain things such as knowledge. Just think to yourself, you have done everything, you get pleasure from nothing anymore because you have done them so many times, what do you do with your time?

We must be changed into something completely different to anything we can imagine, because i cant invisage an existance, were we having nothing left to do, it would be a nightmare. Unless the nature of existance changes when we die.

Any ideas?

Maybe its only really about learning, or remembering at first...

Then more about just creating at levels that to our brains and understanding now would seem inconceivable?

Maybe there is just so much joy in creating, and in expressing that its more about the feeling, than the thoughts....? ( if reality/consciousness/awareness is Infinite, then couldn't our imaginations also be infinite too?)

I must say that I agree with PhoenixRa on this one.

To quote one of his lines, "Then more about just creating at levels that to our brains and understanding now would seem inconceivable?" From a simplistic viewpoint can you imagine what our ancestors of thousands of years ago would make of our world today? O.K., that is only a small timespan in the ultimate journey, so who knows how we (spirits) can evolve - there will always be new things to learn.

As a side issue, I`m glad I use Mozilla Firefox with Adblock Plus. Just right-clicked on that laughing fat little person, hit the block button and zap, he was gone for good.

Figuratively speaking, I think only a child can believe he's learned everything.  The nature of knowledge is such that the more one knows, the more one realizes one doesn't know so much afterall.  So when we get to that point, it's probably time to return for another go at being somebody different.

But if you don't believe in reincarnation and/or you do manage to learn and do "everything," you would be perfect, and it's probably time to go back to the mother ship, so to speak.  Back in the pool, unity with god, bleed into one, or whatever, and get recycled for the overall improvement of the consciousness.

On a side note, personally, I think the howling wolf greeting picture and the crazed fat kid are excellent choices!  A definite improvement.

There comes a point when you must know everything. it's just a matter of time. 5000000 billion trillion years, if need be. But it's unavoidable.

Im not talking about knowing everything in human form, but knowing everything once you go back to the spirit realm (if it exists).

The only way i can see for us not going loco, is to stop being human, and be something completely different, and that something i find unimaginable at the moment.

and thnx bud, glad someone liked it.

You can no longer think like a human, otherwise we would be bord stiff.

Here's my feeling about it.

Say you have an all day date planned with somebody you've been really wanting to get to know. From start to finish the date works out wonderfully, and you connect with your date very closely.  The evening ends with the most wonderful love making you've ever had, and the date ends in a climactic way (non-sexual meaning intended).

If all of time is instataneous and eternal, you would be able to experience the entirety of the date in one, marvelous, everlasting moment.

Now if you take all of the experiences you've had throughout the ages, and experience the perfected way of being they lead up to in one extremely marvelous, everlasting moment, you'd experience even more fulfillment than you felt during your dream date.

You'd experience things such as love, happiness, harmony, and understanding, with many different flavors-forever.

Would there be room for boredom?

If so, there's always reruns.

There would be, once you have repeated that date 250 times you would become bored with it.

There comes a point when all has been experienced, and re-experienced...again and again.

The mind keeps ticking, in the moment. you know whats coming next, the magic has gone.

You doing something, even somthing you "love" constantly you eventually become board with it.

Either we are changed into another form, a form which does not require or seek growth/knowledge.

Or we all go crazy from boredom.

Well, why don't you wait it out for a few million years, and check with us then?

I'm not sure I trust the experiences various astral travelers have had with aliens.  However, I do consider this is possible.  The reason I consider it possible is actually because we haven't encountered any alien life in the universe.  I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but let me explain. I think we may very well be the only beings in our universe.   I believe our universe is finite, but space is infinite.  This means that our universe really is an illusion for us in that it includes only what we can experience, i.e. the light we can detect from its farthest reaches.  What we know doesn't say anything about space though.  Space could be truly infinite.  If that's the case, and I tend to think it is, then there could be many many universes within it (granted with lots of nothing in between), and within them the weird and different stuff that may be necessary for other beings, life, whatever.  Thus the possibility we could "try." "be sent to" or otherwise end up in another universe once we got quite bored with our spiritual existance.  In this scenario, the number of universes within infinite space could be infinite as well, and so preclude the possiblity you'd ever get bored!  In fact, it would be impossible.

Recall the aliens playing marbles at the end of "Men in Black?"  That is basically the scenario.

Nice explaination there bud, i often think of us, as a part of a body, like each 1 of us being a cell our universe = 1 full body, each body (universe) moving around each other.

Is our full existance based upon learning and knowledge? and what is the use of gaining this?

Spending inifnity constantly learning without a purpose, seems pointless.

There must be some reason why we learn? - maybe it's so we can expand to another universe/dimension.

But then whats the point of that.

Whats the ultimate goal of our existance?, a question im sure everyone has asked themselfs.

If we still think like humans, i dont think "we exist because we do" would tick many of the internal box's.

But then again, can you think of an ultimate reason for our existance? i cant at the moment, unless we are merely probes, which need to join the whole to understand our purpose ^+.

I think that since time has a different feeling in the spiritual realm (that is an alleged feeling of no time), then boredom is just not possible for the pure love of those around you and God himself overwhelm you with purpose.  Perhaps we just exist, just as God just "exists" in love and happiness for eternity, which is all the spirit needs.  -Just my opinion
