I was wondering, if THIS world as we know it, is the only C1 Earth (with humans) that exists...
Or are there many (if not infinite) versions of our world, where histories have taken a different turn... but they are inhabited by HUMANS (not reptiloids, or tentacled creepy-crawlies, or what have you.)
This would make reincarnation a LOT more interesting, you see.
Raphael mentioned that the way I conduct my life here, and my values, would lead me to a world more in tune with those values the next time I get to be a human male...
THIS C1 reality can be pretty disgusting, with its franky INHUMAN  legal concepts...
Rob Roy, listen up. I'm going to tell you a story which will make you VERY angry. But it is TRUE and happened in my town just a couple months ago (mid-September...)
This one made me mad as Hell, because I've served in the military myself (1988-1992, just missed deployment to Saudi Arabia by 3 days when that war ended... was training for the desert in snow up to my knees (Grafenwohr, in Germany.) Funny, eh?)
Over the last year, we've had groups of teenage "gang wanna-bes" randomly attacking and severely
beating people... 3 or 4 guys on one victim, and the boots when he goes down. The police attitude/response? Kind of like , "well, they were DRUNK and shouldn't have been out" (the VICTIMS, that is!)
In September, a returning Iraq veteran was having the night of his life in my town. He was home in one piece, and he'd just been accepted to the police academy here. So, he did what you or I might do... go out on the town and have a couple beers.
At about 1:30 am, he, his girl and a friend were approached by 3 youths (scumbags actually.) They tried to pick a fight with him. When he declined, one of them sucker-punched him and knocked him cold.
Then the three of them started kicking him in the head. When his buddy tried to intervene, two of them attacked him while a third kept kicking the Iraq veteran in the head... "so hard", said a witness, "that blood was spraying everywhere..."
They actually HUNG AROUND the scene until the police arrived, and picked them up.
They obviously thought they had a RIGHT to do this. Says something about America today, huh?
The Iraq veteran is now a basket case. MASSIVE brain damage... and, he's only 25.
He now has 50 YEARS or better of misery, indignities like not being able to wipe his own a$$, and enforced celibacy (I'll bet my eyesight that we are still a good two or three thousand years away from being able to fix brain damage!) He'll probably end up in a nursing home, or the state mental hospital, as he doesn't have money. Then, MORE celibacy... FOREVER - not to mention singing AWFUL songs - when he finally dies (assuming the horror that is Christian Fundamentalism is true...) Or even HELL, if Novak's mind-fracture theory is true (he's gonna have some awful emotional trauma...)
Hell? He's THERE already (without even having earned it!) Then on to the "dusty underworld cavern" - or worse...
The punks? Betcha a sawbuck they'll be be FREE AS BIRDS by the time they're 25... drinking, carousing, having explosive sex with multiple partners, making big money, and looking for new victims. Our veteran friend didn't die, so no murder charge is forthcoming (although there SHOULD be, as the guy is way worse off than dead now.... they DID kill him, for all intents and purposes.)
NOW... what has this to do with parallel universes, reincarnation, yada yada?
I'd like to incarnate into a world much like America is today, but with a MAJOR difference.
It will be a much freer, and more POLITE world.
Why?
Because in the world I'd like to live in, I'd have read a story about how the Iraq veteran (or actually soon-to-be cop, because America had an honest leadership and we never invaded Iraq) was threatened by 3 teenagers with long criminal records (just like they had in the REAL case described above...)
All three of which our veteran then summarily cut down with his Glock nine (just like he was taught to in SCHOOL, although he couldn't carry until he was 21) and was given a "Public Service Medal" by the mayor in a ceremony the following week.
And, the mothers of the three teenagers were given "Darwin Awards" for the way their sons had removed themselves from the gene pool (and they would have NO recourse to sue the veteran, as they would in this reality) and were told they shouldn't have been such SL#TS, as to raise sons like that.
Had the three zit-ranchers managed to stomp him anyway... they would be SLOWLY BURNED to death, starting with their GENITALS, whether the veteran died or not. (And no appeals either.)
In other words... I'd like to incarnate into a world where, if you physically threaten someone WITHOUT PROVOCATION... you automatically FORFEIT all rights to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness. No ifs, ands, buts, or splitting of hairs allowed.
Same goes for nations, as well as individuals (thus preventing foolish wars..!)
"Without Provocation" would be the operative term here. Individual bullying would become VERY dangerous to practice, as bullies would not be protected by law as they are in our immediate reality. Neither would aggressor nations, for that matter (perhaps a sort of world governing body might be necessary for this..?)
It would be a world which would respect the INDIVIDUAL over the state, and would not cramp the styles of decent people. That would be enough to make me happy, I think. I don't want "Paradise" (after all, one man's Paradise is another man's Hell.) I'd be just fine, with a JUST society that respected freedom above "safety at all costs"! (Notice how our current "security by authority" world is looking more and more like a pink padded rubber-room in a looney bin every year (ever notice how stools in bars are bolted down now, and draft beer is served in plastic cups instead of pint glasses?) Meanwhile, things get more and more gratuitously violent. What we're doing here, ISN'T working..!)
Might such a C1 Earth reality as I described exist, in a late 20th-early 21st century setting? If so, I think I know where I wanna go... OR is this the only "physical" C1 Earth (unless you dig tentacles or green skin, that is...)
